Today is a special time for those who are celebrating the start of a new year. We have so much to be thankful for .. it is time to give thanks to our ancestors and to our parents, all the special people in our lives who make our personal lives complete.
We exist today thanks to our ancestors and parents. Express appreciation by devoting yourself for the sake of others and society.

No one can take away the joy you get from putting your whole heart into something. The joy you feel when you’ve put your all into something is yours and yours alone. Nobody can take that away from you.
PS, Sunday service being canceled simply means, we do our prayers and offer appreciation on our own. A Hokyoshi is onlya call or text away if you need us.
When I saw this picture that Michel took I knew I had to share it, (he said OK) isn’t it a heart-breaker. Michel is a wildlife photographer here in the Ottawa area, many of his pictures are stunning, but this one… it had a WOW factor I couldn’t resist. Especially as you all know a family of racoons has been trying to redo the feeders at one location, and doing a rather good job of it… I arrived at the feeders yesterday to find that the bicycle is now in two pieces.. sigh.
This is why I began to research early what will work over the coming winter season. These past weeks I have seen possibilities, but of course, the birds who will spend most of the winter months in the area, have not started to arrive. Presently there is a different clientele =^_^=
Don’t think overly about people. Instead of being excessively concerned about others, focus on what you should do.

Value your Intuition. When you suddenly have an “a-ha” moment, or when a thought pops into your mind, it is God sending you a message. As soon as you notice something, you should act upon it right away.

This last quote is one that I try hard to practice daily, To do so, I have to also practice, “stillness” “listening” and “patience”. It is a habit to rush, to be busy, to be on the go. I am much better now, but at one time I had a day timer and it was used every day, I scheduled, planned and wrote in it every day.. Now, I seldom use one at all. Every day is a new beginning, every day we get a chance to start a new canvas or revisit an old one.. but it is a day of possibilities. My husband’s motto was always “seize the day” =^_^= He did his best to do so till the day he passed on…
No one ever said life would be easy.. but it is always interesting and AND.. FULL OF LOVE!
When we live with love in our hearts, it spreads into the world around us… =^_^=
these past months have been full of discoveries, every day is a new beginning.all summer long I’ve missed the crows that gathered in the winter at the parking lot where I get my ice coffee
This past summer a friend and I visited a retreat where she would be doing a ceremony of celebration for one of her friends. There I saw the maze that was being rebuilt and at one end of it, was this statue of the Virgin Mary, I didn’t ask, but that is who I think it was. She had been there for a long time, still she looked so serene.
This summer I discovered that I love the smell of the wild flowers that grow along the overcrowded roadsides and pathways. And, most importantly I’ve discovered that there is a lot of me that I have yet to explore, understand and get to know.
It is easy to be safe, do what is familiar, frequent the same places, talk to the same people, it takes courage to step outside of what is “known” and to try something new. The following is the English of a “meditation” a friend sent me from Japan, remember is has been translated by a translator, you need to read it with that in mind.
Sunday, August 29, 2021 【There are pitfalls where you are good at】 When you do things that you don’t have much experience, you’re careful, so you don’t make many mistakes. But when you do something you’re good at with experience, you’ll be careless and fail where it’s easy. In any case, let’s live in tension.
I’ve read and reread it a few times now. I am taking that last sentence and reading.. Let’s live being open to new possibilities .. when we do something to be more aware of the situation and not take for granted we know what we will experience, let the moment happen, let the interaction be “pure”
Like yesterday, I got got caught in the rain.. had I really thought about it, the practical side of me would have reminded me I had a rain poncho in one of my pockets just for such occasions. Instead I reveled in the moment of the rain, its mesmerizing downpour, the feeling of how the wet seeped and clung to me. It was a first.. Of course we all know that within a short time I was cold and chilled. By the time I got home, I was looking for dry clothes and warmth. BUT I did live the moment. =^_^=
Will I ever learn, who knows. There are words of wisdom all around me, I am constantly encountering new experiences, as long as I draw breath, I will experience NOW, that is who I am. As one friend pointed out, I am blessed with many gifts. I looked up the definition in my Oxford…. I certainly was given a surprise gift yesterday! A lifetime of living, and surprise, there is still something else I’d missed and now.. … learning is never-ending. like change, it is another constant in life.
this was a pillow I saw in a local craft shop.
Do things joyfully instead of taking it easy. Enthusiastically engage with what’s in front of you. You’ll enjoy it more.
the rain was just starting tried to get an image of the falling rain on the water.. yeah right!
I have walked in the rain before, but this time I got soaked. REALLY soaked, I now know what it is like to be soaking wet. I was able to protect the camera with a doggie poop bag. but the rest of me even though I had a lite rain jacket on, hat and my hood over the hat.. got wet right through. I marvel at how wonderful it was, the sound of the rain falling hard at times, and then letting up, but not stopping… even where a tall tree would in the past have given some shade, there was no reprieve from the falling rain drops.
There was no going back I had already started on the boardwalk, (it is a 1 way) and if I am to be honest with myself, I wanted the experience, the young families I’d met on my way down to the walkway, would be safe and snug in their cars by now.. I basically had the place to myself. The rain was hard enough, there were no birds singing or chattering in the trees, and none of the small animals were scurrying looking for food. Everyone had taken cover. The two wild turkeys that I met earlier, that sauntered down the middle of the road, causing me to actually stop so that they could get ahead of me.. then just coast along behind them, were likely on their way home before the rain.. and they too were likely sheltered somewhere.
Only the human was out =^_^= strolling along the now very wet boardwalk. The wooden planks glistened with the water, the drops danced off the boards and rolled along to the edges or pooled in the small crevices and cracks.
No one can take away the joy you get from putting your whole heart into something. The joy you feel when you’ve put your all into something is yours and yours alone. Nobody can take that away from you.

Will there be consequences.. likely, I was cold by the time I got home and was able to get out of the wet clothes. Even a hot shower didn’t take the chills away. I did make myself a warm lunch, and now will go wrap myself in a warm fleece blanket. LOL when I removed all the items from the many pockets of my hiking gear, guess what I found.. a plastic poncho still in its brand new sealed bag.
I’ll leave you with a photo of my latest post card.
curried lentil veggie soup – will I make it again NO, was it good, yes.. it was OK..
I had forgotten how much goes into making up a batch of homemade soup, In the crock pot what you see is the remains of two freshly cut up chicken carcasses. still raw.. they were cleaned and then put in the soup bag to cook to make the chicken stock. (salt/pepper garlic to taste) The garlic was fresh from MC’s garden.
Veggies I used, were fresh from the Asian grocery store yesterday morning. The prep time was done in stages, since I was making the chicken stock from scratch. Should ever I get foolish enough to do this again, I would use a stronger curry, I had taken the mild to be on the safe side. (green lentils and some dried soup stuff from a package, rice, beans etc.)
You can see some of the ingredients. mushroom, cauliflower, gourd, carrots garlic in several forms.. No onion and I still had a reaction when I tasted it last night. I suspect it was the coconut, since I used the whole can.. I could have made up a pretty bowl of it to show you how it serves up.. but hey! its soup. Making soup from scratch is another item I’ll put on my – Nope, done that, been there … list. Too much work, especially I live alone.. like duh…
Oh dear.. someone needs to get out and drive out to the woodlands …
LOL you ask, how often do I eat soup during the month… 0 yes that’s a zero. I will admit, it smells divine when cooking, and it does taste good.. but for me, is it worth the time and effort.. no.. But one never knows unless one gives it a try .. right! right!
Lose your attachments to money and things. Money and things don’t have value unless you actually use them. Don’t be stingy nor overly attached to your resources and utilize them to their fullest potential

If I have learned anything is that this confirms to me, I am not domestic.. nor do such activities turn my crank. Did I tell you I had cleaners come in last week to clean… Yup.. and guess what I liked it.. think I’ll have them back =^_^=
What happens when a film crew arrive to film for a couple of days…
What happens, is I don’t get to walk, and the birds and the wee animals …they all take time to visit other places in the woods.
Strive to overcome obstacles by changing your mind-frame. things don’t always go as planned. When that happens, try changing how you look at the situation or how you are doing things. The outcome is in your hands.

it was HOT today, it was HOT yesterday, and lets not forget humid. time to visit and chill with a friend, catch up and just relax.
Its Okay to think “This is where it starts” There is always a turning point. It’s important what you do from now.

It actually worked out.. with the filming crew at the site, it gave me time to come back early and do work that needed doing here at the house. I did catch up with a friend, and we did get to work on a project that needed doing. We hadn’t planned it, but life just presented us with the right ingredients. And had my day not been rescheduled for me, I wouldn’t have had time to have a “coffee break” with another friend. There you go! life is good! Not at all what I had planned and expected, but worked out even better, because I got to share it with friends.

old logo of Scrap en masse .. and new logo at new location in Plantagent, Ontario.Canada
Product I’d ordered by Tim Holtz arrived, Tim’s Distress texture pack, Grave texture paste and crypt paste.. =^_^= can you tell its almost October.. I’ve begun my fall projects. Steampunk, grunge, here I come.. Not forgetting Thursday Doors, I got pictures of the doors at the new location. Plus some I got when I was in Westport.
two top doors are for Scrap en Masse, so you can locate the building the Scrap en Masse sign in in the front of the building, near the road,
So many of you have been trying to find the building, knowing what to look for will make it easier for you, it is the 3rd entrance on the right when you turn down the road into Plantagenet. Check their web pages, stay tuned on FB with them.
The other doors are from the trip to Westport. the top right door, the one that is peeling is on the building next to Scrap en Masse.. Isn’t it interesting.. wonder what is inside?
Be very careful about doing things you really like. Do everything in moderation. when you overdo, you’ll lose your balance.
Before I go on and cover this up or add to it, I want to share with you what eye shadow from the dollar store and nail polish can do. (mixed media abstract)
We can travel or visit the same places, see the same things, i.e. areas of a physical space, but never is it ever the same as the last time we visited. Wait for it…. because nothing stays the same. =^_^= the only constant in life is change.
Today at Chapman Mills, the leaves have already begun to change, small changes, here and there, but change they are.
Face each moment, each place with a fresh outlook. I you handle a situation with preconceived notions or prejudices, your judgment will be clouded. Take on each situation with a blank slate, as if seeing it for the first time.

Till soon
identified the birds I have been seeing, Northern Flicker .. (thanks to la belle Bon)
Ever find yourself wondering … why you are walking down a certain street, at a certain time? Looking into a storefront window, find yourself contemplating what it all means?
So many stories can be woven when we stop to really look at where we are, and what we are seeing, The following is something I’ve copied for you, it was translated from Japanese, so please take that into consideration when you are reading it.. (the translator speaks little English)
[Lack of expression] If you don’t express what you notice and leave it as it is, you will end up becoming a person who doesn’t notice. “Things that bother you a little, things that you wonder about, things that you wonder about” are expressed simplyas you noticewhen you notice them.
I will think on this quote today, yesterday I had plenty of time to notice things as la belle Bon and I explored the little waterfront town we had driven to .. there was a lot that interested me, many places sent my imagination into over drive. It is a tourist area, there is a lot to take in and see. The last year and a half has been difficult on the shop owners, slowly with the lifting of restrictions, there is a hum happening, I hope that we have one of our wonderful Ontario falls, so that more people will visit.
my view from the table where we lunched.
Today’s quote from the PL calendar.
Change your mind, thinking “it will be alright”. Do the best you can without being overly attached.
