Monday

My joy today was that when I drove to the trail, there was no sign of the turkeys, I called them, and three of them came at my call. I had not been there since the spring… I was most impressed. The picture here was not from today I haven’t transferred to my desk top the ones I took today.. however, I wanted to show you my “babies”… they do make me smile..

A little late today, but .. I woke with a desire to visit the woodlands… so I did.

Do things in moderation

Whenever you overdo something, you will lose balance in your life. Express yourself appropriately without being overly attached or detached.

“I’ll do it later. No, I’ll do it now”

To make progress do anything while it is still fresh.

These words of wisdom have a message for me… I am a do it now person, I have always been like that, this morning has found me dragging out my medical books and researching and refreshing my “tired’ gray cells on my actions of the past few days.

I woke to the searing discomfort of the neuropathy symptoms all clamoring to express and shout their discontent at having to share my limbs with each other. Nerves screamed, and went into an unwelcome screaming fit. I could barely manage to balance as I made my way to the medicine cabinet in the bathroom. I will not bore you with medical terms, the long and short of it was my muscles cramped and toes jerked up in protest… I have learned to quiet the mind and try to still the mounting urgency to rectify the physical reaction that happens when the the tendons and other fellow body parts go into their trauma mode.

I had a small amount of success with calming the body by using a cream infused with magnesium. I had done it faithfully for weeks, and I was having night after night with no symptoms… I got lazy, or forgetful, and took to reclaiming activities/tasks that needed to be done. but I did it all at once, I threw out my support pillow (for under the legs) and then didn’t follow through and get to the store to replace it. That meant I had to use a substitute knee pillow that was not the same angle/depth and composition of what my legs were used to.. I went out the next day and got the correct pillow, but meanwhile, the legs started to grumble…

AND that didn’t trigger or jog my gray cells to remind me to use the magnesium cream after my shower. I allowed myself to be distracted and and and.. I didn’t do it when the thought came to mind, I put it off and of course, it got lost.. I didn’t do it at all.

This morning my body told me in no uncertain terms… “it was not happy” and I had to deal with the fall out.

No its not just the magnesium, there are of course other factors.. but all could have been better planned and executed. … “do it now” when you can, if something comes to mind, and it is something that has shown to be helpful, THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE DOING…or not doing… and act accordingly.

Our bodies are our life long companions… we should not take them for granted.

Have a good day everyone…

just because – I bought an exercise stretch band ( the idea was a good one) , help with exercising the arms/shoulders… a good stretch… did I use it.. no it hangs on the back of the door. because I searched it out, found it, brought it home.. if I don’t use it… it is not helping me… right? Right !!!!

Just because – I studied and researched .. gathered info. sought solutions.. if I don’t apply them .. I am not being proactive to my well being… right? right!!!!

Sunday

Let your gratitude show in your words and actions.

When you live each day with a feeling of true gratitude, you and the people around you will be happy. Always remember to express your “thank you’s” out loud.

How was Montreal? We didn’t get into the city we stopped on the West Island for lunch and ended up staying on the West Island. The colours on the drive were awesome..

lotus root

Wow,,… I got the most amazing rush when I had my first taste of these battered lotus root (frozen ready to eat after cooking)… if you can find them, give them a try, I got these from an Asian grocery store… (I cooked them up in my air fryer)(8 min)

Bom dia.. how are you today! I woke to another sunny beautiful day. In our area, the leaves have already started to change colour..

In another couple of weeks, the world will be a kaleidoscope of colour

Strive to live with a positive outlook everyday

Put your whole heart into whatever you do. With motivation you will feel joy and excitement.

Are you alone? Deep in the forest, there is a magic that permeates the air, if you take the time, to sit quietly and allow the natural sounds of the nature around you to visit with you… the merry sound of meandering water over coloured pebbles is joyful as it slides with ease over the multi faceted rocks and gurgles joyfully as it brushes against and through the water ferns and stalks of vegetation that lines its banks.

Always there is something to discover, Know that all around you, there are eyes watching. You might not see who/what is watching, but…. your presence is not unnoticed.

Start by doing the things you notice.

It is impossible to do two things at once. Let your intuition guide you and start with what you can take on now.

Stay safe, enjoy your day!

A busy person is someone who others can count on

The fact that you are busy means that you are needed by others. in a way, it’s a sign of how much they trust and rely on you.

Remember how you felt in the beginning

Doing the same old thing monotonously without thought will stifle progress. When you get stuck, go back to the beginning and start fresh.

landscapes

Time appears to stand still when you come across a peaceful scene along the river. The gentle curving of the walkway meant that you slow down your pace…. your eyes follow the shoreline, birds are singing happily from somewhere off in the distance. It feels good to have the moment to yourself, The sun is high in the sky, but the surrounding trees are providing dappled shade. This walkway follows the wanderings of the Rideau River…along Riverside Drive (Ottawa)… There has been a lot of construction this summer along Bank Street, (cross street) This could be the reason, but in my exploring the other day, there were very few people enjoying the “park” ..note… the colours are starting to appear. Mother Nature has begun to weave her magic.

When you are not having fun, could it be because you’re being lazy

Sometimes you feel blue or can’t seem to find the joy in doing anything. At times like this, just get up and move your body or work your mind to the fullest extent.

haunting

I took this picture the other day…. I have been haunted by the tranquility of the place ever since and will head back there this morning. See that small white dot (bird) off on a branch … not being able to get closer with my cell… I am going back this time with my camera.. not that it will still be there, but.. let me see if I will use the camera. I recharged the battery… I hadn’t used it since 2023! maybe even longer. I am terrible ..if a piece of equipment doesn’t work the way I think it should I put it away… now I have to decide.. if I’m not going to use it.. I should pass it along. omg another decision to make!!!!

It is important to say “thank you”

Everything that appears in front of you is all material for you to improve yourself whether it’s food people or things. Learn to accept everything, whether it is something you like or not.

exercise

Easy movements, slow, mind focused on how your body is able to move easily into the different stances. then taking the time to sit and reflect on how we are coping with the day to day opportunities that come our way. That is a personal activity that one should do daily. The world around us is busy, constantly moving, so often, we move into the day and adjust our energy to merge in and out of the constant ebb and flow of what is happening around us, Not taking into consideration the affect the jarring and the noise will have on our own peace of mind, The effects are not always positive. In making time to take 10 – 15 min. in the day to meditate, contemplate you can give yourself an energizing lift. Even 3 – 5 minutes of silence with your elbows propped on a desk.. and your chin, cupped in your hands can produce a quiet calm that gives you an energizing lift, the body/mind relaxation during a busy day can increase productivity and do wonders for YOU, YOU matter.

With a prayerful mind, put your heart into everything you do,

Even when you’ve put in your best effort, you may have overlooked something . With a humble mind, take a second look to check for mistakes or oversights.

PL2014.7

We work better and we are more efficient and effective when our energy is balanced. We feel better and are able to get a better night’s sleep when we are happy with ourselves. There is an expression, “Misery loves company” ….. ….. personally, I’m happy to let the miserable enjoy their chosen way of life.. I prefer to be happy and live with kindness and goodness in my life. it is so much more freeing.. and it all begins with a genuine smile.
