a door

instant memories of another time

another place, what was this for

inside looking ever so forlorn

an old Bell telephone

pay phone…..

I have memories of such phones

there was a time

when you could make a call for a dime

you would drop your coin into the slot

wait for dial tone, then dial

the number of the party you were trying to call

Can you recall the number of times

you stood in the cold,

it could rain or be full sunshine

but if there was a call box with a door

it was such a pleasure to be inside

for your call …. we didn’t linger on the phone

we made our call, then moved on,

the call box was a sight to behold

when you were stranded in the cold

and needed to connect with a friend

or call for help. A door on a call box

also meant the conversations you had

could be discreet, personal and if

you’d called for a cab, a place to wait

sheltered from the day/night

always remember to say thank you

to a door.

Do things joyfully instead of taking it easy. Enthusiastically engage with what’s in front of you. You’ll enjoy it more.

There are so many ways to meditate, it is such a personal way to re-group and reconnect with one’s own inner thoughts/feelings. I marvel at how easy it is to fall out of the “habit” of being “aware”. there was a time I schooled myself to always be aware, taking time to enjoy each step along the way of whatever day I was experiencing.

We often lean towards what is easy. The first time I was told I was “lazy” … I really was offended, “me lazy” surely this was not an accurate assessment of “me”… but if I am truly honest with myself, I have moments. my choices are not always based on “productivity”. But then, why does one need to always be productive. =^_^=

As I slowly navigate this world I am in now, I realize that my situation, my personal space, everything that had been once “normal” is now actually just “clutter” Time has passed, I am coming out of a time of “loss” and “mourning”, the world around me seems different. + It is, the younger generations have different understanding of what and where the world is today… the older travellers … have all come from different backgrounds, their life experiences are etched on their faces, the tell tale shadows of the past linger in their eyes.

When I stand still in the middle of the woodlands, in whatever weather, just stand there, not moving, just listening, my eyes looking nowhere in particular, just taking in the moment, I feel the stillness wash over me, the birds, chipmunks, squirrels, all return to their business of “being” and we all become part of NOW. That moment in time for me is a meditation, it can last seconds, minutes, there is no “clock” just that space where the tranquility of “BEing” is all there is.

Experiencing such moments, means that I can recall that “silence” “stillness” at other times, it is a place I like to be. In such times of “contentment” I realize that you are part of that moment, because you are part of me. We are all ONE with the Universe, with our unique rhythms, sometimes we are in sync, and other times we are simply ships passing in the night. Either way, you are part of my world, and like the seasons, the ebb and flow of life will keep us harmonized.

day after

hello! HELLO! pinches self.. yup.. still here… Not what I expected, I got to have wonderful long uninterrupted conversation with my sister-in-law who lives away, and a friend who has been playing telephone tag with me for months. It was great!

Yesterday in my travels as you already know I ventured down an unknown path, tried some video software .. it was a day of exploring.. Today, well… being retired… guess I’ll get out to check the feeders and replace one that needs repair. Are you taking advantage of this wonderful late summer, early fall weather. The picture above is an area I will often photograph depending on the sun/shadows.. I like the possibilities, and I always wonder.. what stories this location could tell.

This location I visited yesterday is one where it is not a big area compared to others nearby, but it has a certain feel, it holds enchantment, and places that I can easily envision little wee ones “holding community”… I keep telling myself, to bring a notebook, and flesh out a storyline… but I don’t do it.. Guess the idea is still forming.. or… I want to keep it a secret. =^_^=

White doves are symbolic of new beginnings, peace, fidelity, love, luck and prosperity. This white dove was quick to arrive when I got out of my car, she settled on a branch nearby.. and seemed to be waiting, when I went to the back of my car to the boot, she actually moved over to sit on my car by the driver’s door. To say I was thrilled to see her is an understatement, I had never seen a white dove in person before.

It is said that if a dove follows you, it can be a message that you are in a period of rediscovery about your life. This is currently so true, another reason why I am a believer. Doves teach us that regardless of external circumstances, peace is always within reach. They carry the energy of promise… I spent a lot of time yesterday, “thinking” I am awed that out of the blue, a white dove would come to me today.

Yes there have been doves at the site where I was today, always the mourning dove.. in the pretty soft shades of gray and beige.. today … this dove was white.

Timing is important .. today is the Day of Peace in PL, it is celebrated every 1st of the month. =^_^=

Meeting the dove today, was an awe inspiring moment, Till soon.,

What happens when a film crew arrive to film for a couple of days…

What happens, is I don’t get to walk, and the birds and the wee animals …they all take time to visit other places in the woods.

Strive to overcome obstacles by changing your mind-frame. things don’t always go as planned. When that happens, try changing how you look at the situation or how you are doing things. The outcome is in your hands.

it was HOT today, it was HOT yesterday, and lets not forget humid. time to visit and chill with a friend, catch up and just relax.

Its Okay to think “This is where it starts” There is always a turning point. It’s important what you do from now.

It actually worked out.. with the filming crew at the site, it gave me time to come back early and do work that needed doing here at the house. I did catch up with a friend, and we did get to work on a project that needed doing. We hadn’t planned it, but life just presented us with the right ingredients. And had my day not been rescheduled for me, I wouldn’t have had time to have a “coffee break” with another friend. There you go! life is good! Not at all what I had planned and expected, but worked out even better, because I got to share it with friends.
