kayak fishing

steve kayak, june 14

Fishing, although I don’t fish, is something I think would be a quiet, comtemplative type of activity.  I have seen pictures of people kayaking along shorelines, alone, silently cutting through the water, seeing the lake, river, from a totally different angle.  If fishing, is there really a need to catch or “hook up” with a fish, or is it the very activity itself.

My son an avid kayaker, loves to fish.  Not to bring the outdoors home, but to communicate with nature in his comfort zone.  The water is still cold, we have not had any seasonally warm temperatures..yet already he has been in swimming.

IF I had a bucket list, a lazy drift in a kayak would be in the top twenty. =^_^=

PL Calendar day 15   Live with firm determination, thinking that “this will turn out for the best”

Everything in this world progresses and develops.  Always be positive, knowing that everything will turn out for the best.

Thursday doors

Some doors should just stay shut, and others should be explored.  A door opened yesterday, that gave vent for deep rooted anger and hurt to escape.  Fortunately I was able to close the door again.  But it is obviously one I will have to explore again, at another time.

My Mother passed away 2 years ago, my husband one year ago.  There is more processing to do. I give thanks for the blessing of friends.

PL Precept # 5  One’s self is lost by being emotional

PL Precept # 4  Being annoyed limits your expression.

Question, when your hurt is disrespected and tossed aside, my reaction is to withdraw, so that I can be respectful as much as I can of another persons stubbornness… Why is it so difficult for me to accept.  I am not a masochist .. I distance myself my preference to be to live in peace and be happy.  However, there are times, it isn’t that simple.  So by golly, shut that darn door, and leave it closed, in fact, bring the nails and hammer and I will nail it shut.

How serious am I.

Sticks and stones, rocks, brick, lumber, everything in life, is canvas ready.  each day a new beginning. Art is everywhere.  To each his/her own…..  creativity begins within.

I remember when I began landscaping in earnest, I would pick up driftwood, rocks cast off metal objects, an empty lot was a huge canvas .. one that would grow and give me a new “view” every season and year.

PL Precept #1  – life is art

Make every day count.  Share your beautiful/handsome smile today, Life is good!!

working and living

2006a

Working and living =^_^=   go together – living in the NOW means you are interacting and being present all day, whether it is work or play, you are involved.  by putting your best into all you do, the experience is uniquely yours.  What ever you do today, enjoy it. Yes, really… do your best.

PL calendar day 4 – Follow your heart while also thinking about the happiness of others.

Junho 4, Pense em felicitar a si e aos outros, sendo honesto consigo.

orphans

cedars-cdn-tire-may-2019.jpg

What to do, they all can’t come home with me.  If you are an avid landscaper, flowers, trees and shrubs,  you know, how cute and lovely they are when you bring them home, they will grow and spread out.  There has to be an awareness of the long range “presentation” or you will be in for a rude awakening when they grow up if you have not allowed for their maturing.

Same applies in life with anything that you bring home that has  life of its own.  It lives, breathes and develops, just like you do.  Even under the same skies, latitude and longitude, nothing will be seen or experienced the same way.  Life is multi dimensional, the only constant is change.

Accept, Appreciate, all that is in your life.  today is NOW, worrying about yesterday  or tomorrow, takes away from NOW.

a cow

2013-10-29 oct 29 021

A cow waited by the side of the road, my mind began a conversation with the cow. I imagined that I was able to sit down in a field of clover and visit …  just me, the open field and the cow.

How calm, how quiet my companion was.  The only sound the masticating of its cud, and the swishing of its tail.

Yes, I would like to explore the possibility of such a moment. No radio, no sounds of traffic, just the environmental sounds of being in a field with a cow. I imagine that the conversation would be different with a goat.  The two are very different.

Thursday doors

The fascination of a door.  I loved that the lace curtain still hung on the door.

IMG_20190514_125311_resized_20190515_120012809

This doorway was further away, however, I couldn’t resist a capture so I could revisit later..  Had someone built a fort for the children to enjoy, or… was it an old structure, repurposed.  The character of places found when exploring other landscapes far from the city. Absolute heaven.

Eartha my travelling companion, shares in the delights of taking that secondary road, the quest for adventure, the joy of a discovery.  We did have a final destination and arrived soon enough.  But, not before we found another gem.

The past is part of our present.

PL calendar day 16

Avoid being careless or overconfident.

Even though you have put your best effort into doing something you still may have made some mistakes.  That is why it is important to always work with a prayerful mind.

Why would someone put an old tire there?
