wow mid month

An early morning visit from a rabbit, was fun, it hung around, but it wasn’t going to give me its cute little face. The morning dew was still out, and with the gentle breeze, it was pleasant. Sun is in the forecast for today, should be a good day to finish doing some yard work.

For those following the new bird feeder saga… the bigger birds are still bickering and fighting over dining in the smaller one. The new one has only been up a day, today being day two.. so let’s see what today brings.

Express your feelings straight away. It will be good if you could express your feelings as they are to people around you, when you are happy or when you are troubled. Also, it will be a good chance for your to get to know others.

youth – memory

arggghhhh I want to freeze this moment in time. I find it so frustrating when talking to “some” people, especially if they are of a younger generation. Their concept of time and mine are just not the same. I get asked what I consider to be the silliest of questions..

A happy moment, my neighbour’s garden is in flower, I am lucky enough to have a couple of very dedicated gardeners nearby.,, what a delight to drive by in the morning and see the beautiful blooms.

“OK guys, we’ve had our breakfast, let’s wander” they casually head off to groom and enjoy the clear blue skies, Life is always better after a visit with the 3 muskateers.

PL philosophy, Every day is a new beginning. Make today count.

where am I

What happens when you know you are awake, but you think you are sleeping, or vice versa. Is there a name for this condition. I was actually having a discussion with Velcro (male whippet) about his food intake, and whether or not the food was fresh.. I know.. scintillating conversation,but it seemed to me (at the time) that the discussion was heartfelt.

I must have gone to bed and gotten up again a dozen times yesterday. Not because I was tired and couldn’t stay awake, but because, my body wanted to lie down. With the poor air quality of the past week, I was still out and about. one day we walked the boardwalk to identify the planks that needed replacing. The NCC take safety seriously, the next day we went back and replaced a couple of the damaged boards and secured others that were not secured and wobbly. Yesterday I went back on my own and picked up the boards we were not able to carry the day before and carried them back to the parking lot to be dealt with Monday when the mtc. staff are back.

There were no problems, in fact I felt good at having accomplished the tidy up on my own. Obviously my brain and my body were not on the same page. (it does happen) The city rated # 1 for worst air quality (in the world) on one of the days that I was out …. I don’t know where I got the idea that I was invincible, but yesterday I got a healthy dose of “wake up” … I wanted to know from nothing, I ate, slept, ate some more and lay down again. I did try to watch the silly box, but it was a failed attempt at being interested.

Here is one of my gems of wisdom… that came into my brain while the fog was clearing. my aching arthritis in my thumb joints… as I lay there thinking about what a pain it was having to deal with the “aging body” and my throbbing thumb joint. Like an insert on a telly show. my mother scolding me, telling me to stop bending my thumb back.. I thought it was so cute I could bend my thumb to touch my wrist (flexible joint) ..my Mother told me over and over again, that I would be sorry. Guess what… she was right. fortunately she is not around to gloat .. which she would never do anyway… she had too much class for that.

Today is the 11th, Ancestor’s Day. In PL we have a ceremony every 11th of the month, where we express our gratitude for the love and virtues of our ancestors …. service today sill be at 10. a.m. See you there!

Make today a “give back day” We can live our daily lives owing to our ancestors, our elders and the work of our predecessors. Above all, kindness for others is the best way to give back.

a door beckons

Almost every day I drive by this old church, and almost every time I do … I tell myself.. to stop and get a pictures. It has been there a long time, the other church down the way has disappeared and it happened without my even knowing it was going. Both were old and had a lot of character. I was able to pull over the other day and get a few pictures, I noted it has been taken over by a different group. The sign which I was unable to capture, said that English services would be every third week. (the group that has taken over appear to be Asian). Today when I went to try to get a picture of the newest sign, I realized I didn’t have my cell with me… C’est la vie!….

Many of the old churches of this size are now up for sale… especially those in the downtown core or city center. It is a shame to see them sitting quietly waiting their fate. This one at least gets a new lease on life.

wild fires

Excessive heat, days of it… We have had wild fires all over the place. Close enough that there have been weather warnings for days now. Yesterday the air was so polluted that Ottawa made the # 1 city for the worst air pollution in a world survey. It was not easy breathing, especially if prone to allergies, or other health problems that affected breathing and lungs. the air quality warning is still in place. Please be careful if you need to go out..

Give importance to listening, looking, thinking, doing and speaking. Look and listen carefully befor emaking a judgement. Assumptions and hasty conclusions can lead to misunderstanding.

More birds

Meet photographer Brian Waterman https://www.instagram.com/bird_bri/ There have been so many birds signing in the woodlands it has been a treat to meet up with Brian who has graciously shared photos with us. He has a wonderful selection of birds for you to explore and enjoy, I have a few favourites that I will use from time to time because he has captured the personality of the birds that I’m drawn too. Right now the leaves are filling out so quickly, I hear the birds but I don’t see them. I appreciate Brian’s patience and his ability to find and “catch” the beauties. Thursday Doors

Somewhere in Portugal, I saw this little house and was enchanted. I was inspired to write a little “verse” .. the Universe didn’t agree with my sentiment, the whole blog didn’t save, it simply disappeared. After many failed attempts to retrieve it… I gave up… however, I am still going to show you this little building, isn’t it a charmer?

new beginnigs

Sitting out in the sunshine yesterday, I marveled at how in just a few days the trees had doubled their foliage, even the magnolia seemed happy in her spring frock of pink/purple blooms. The long week-end just past, traditionally is when the gardeners plant get their summer gardens going, but this year, due to the frost warnings still in effect (overnight).. I heard many are waiting for another week or two for the warmer weather to really take hold.

For me, sitting out on my deck… it was wonderful, cool enough there were NO biting insects.. my guests and I could simply sit and enjoy the sun’s warm rays and the clear sky. I did see the pollen flying about, I’m sure allergy suffers are having to cope. Sending out healing vibes and a happy wave to all.

” Making memories with you, is my favourite thing to do” I found this small card on my studio work table a left over from a card making project I had. I love the thought, and was going to send it to a special friend… then.. the thought came to me that the saying made me smile and think of YOU… so I am posting it here so anyone finding it, and enjoying the sentiment… can share it too.

I feel so blessed, sharing with you over the years… you are locate in far off places some just minutes away, others oceans away, yet… you are all part of the community that I am blessed to have in my life. thank YOU!!
