PL Precept #1   Life is Art

PL Principle # 1   I will live paying careful attention, putting Makoto into all I say and do,

Life has been “busy” and “cold” we are coming out of a cold snap, last night before bed, maybe around 10pm I was out shoveling snow, clearing the play area in the backyard so that Keeper could go out and not be having to maneuver through the snow..again, yup it was snowing again. Yes, I could wait till this morning, but then,,, there would be more of it, and I have things I do in the morning, (routines) Besides, it was dark, it was quiet, and I could go out and shovel in the darkness of night, and simply BE.

All was calm and good till I realized I couldn’t find my cell phone. No wonder it had been so quiet. !!! Fortunately I was able to send a message to a friend (via PC) .. who called me… Eventually the delinquent phone was found….  which reminds me, I have to go find my cell phone and clear the messages.. or no one will be able to leave a message, Is it just my cell, or do all cell phones only allow for 2 messages?

Life is good if this is my only dilemma this morning. Have a good one everyone! Blink and we will be in February.

Changes

Like the seasons, we (humans) seem to go through our own version of change. In a blog I just did for another of my “interests” https://wordpress.com/view/dymoonadventures.wordpress.com I talked about how changes to our outward appearance.. how we represent our”selves” in the worlds we live and play in.

Then in my morning mail, I got this little clip https://youtube.com/shorts/yrL46htpljc?si=fjqmm7q82htW9p3S  Thanks Eartha…

And this picture from Debs of her and two fellow actors backstage during Murder on the Orient Express.. Lise Lesage Boily, Tim Gernstein and Deborah Lobban (right)

It is a brand new year, and there is a lot of changes in the wind. How often do you see/hear me say “the only constant in life is change”

We are all actors in the biggest play of all.. Life on Earth. I feel that this will be a year of significant changes for almost all of us. The weather has been showing us that we cannot escape the reality of life in 2024 In my blog I posted earlier, link above.. I ask the question, (many actually) about how you cope or deal with change. If any one feels like commenting I would enjoy reading what you think about where we are headed, and how personally you are making or going to make changes in the coming days/weeks/months.

No effort is ever wasted. Even if no one witnesses your actions (to your knowledge) The Universe is aware. No matter how small your efforts, your Makoto (sincerity) will be rewarded.

PL 2011.22

Don’t rush or allow yourself to get flustered. When you rush, it limits your ability to pay attention to detail, and often leads to careless mistakes. With a prayerful mind, take a deep breath and act calmly.

Lots to reflect on.. have a great day everyone!

I think there is a song out there, about “a change is going to come” ??

scars

Trauma, drama, changes we have no control over, life is full of opportunities to “live and learn” on the 21st in PL it is a time for special dedicated time for renewing our determination to live “the PL Way

. Pl Precept #1 Life is Art.

During the Thanksgiving Service, (Day of Appreciation) we humbly express our appreciation for all the blessings of the past month and sincerely ask to be guided and protected in the coming month.

We all have had experiences and moments in life when we have been ”tested” “pushed to impossible limits” and we survived.. It is in these character building moments that we learn about ourselves and how we are able to “roll with the punches”. WE do! Every moment is a “gift”.

As long as you are motivated to learn more, you will continue to progress in life,

one by one

Handle things that come your way one by one. Tackle your issues in the order they appear in front of you. You will be able to get things done more efficiently this way.

how we perceive

When you look what do you see? When you listen what do you hear?

You can learn from anyone. There is a limitation to your own knowledge and experience, Listen carefully and sincerely to others’ opinions,

Have you been rushing around trying to get things done? Are you constantly on the go? Let’s take a moment to sit together, come on, you are at having a moment to look over incoming missives.. let’s just sit together for a moment. I’ll close my eyes, you close yours.. take a deep breath.. and just let this moment BE .. slowly exhale, and wait .. count to 10 may be even 15 till you open up your peepers again.

Big smile.. did you feel the quiet envelope you. It s a feel good moment, just for you.

Share a smile with someone today, no reason,, just because…

aren’t they cute, their lives are just beginning.

They won’t be encumbered by the constant chatter of “noise” that we humans contend with in our daily lives, but they will have their own share of “dangers” - Carry goodwill to all, in all you say and do.. always.

Your surroundings reflect your state of mind. Everything that appears before you is a reflection of your state of mind. If you work to improve your mind and actions, then what appears in the mirror will also e well balanced,,

Good morning world.. A lot can happen in a few hours. picture #1, my backyard was without snow, none to be seen. Picture #2 is what I see when I open my side door to get to my car, the contractor has been by to clear my steps and in front of the garage, the plow will come and clear the lane.. It was done twice last evening, what you see is what fell with the freezing rain pellets in the wee hours. Picture 3 shows you what I see from my back door. I had already cleared a path twice for Keeper to get off the deck to the back .. my last attempt was around 11:30pm.. you can see to the left, the accumulation. This is winter weather in these parts,, we have had it easy, December was one of the warmest months ever. and what snow fell was gone within days.

I saw the poster on the right when I was trying to find a picture without snow of my backyard.. Gave me chuckle, I love where I live, I enjoy the four seasons, and all that goes with it. However from the grumbling I’m hearing on the radio.. there are a lot of unhappy campers out there, We did get spoiled with the clear highways in December. Just means, the birds will be wanting their feeders cleared of snow, the Jays will hope for extra helping of peanuts, and the crows.. well.. they are in for a treat… I had check wings for supper, they get to pick the bones and enjoy the wonton wrappers I didn’t eat.. (I cheat, I like the shrimp or meat inside the wontons.. and save the skins for them…)

It is easier to adapt to something when we find it interesting. No matter how enjoyable a situation is, a slight change in our attitude can make it boring. Let’s face any situation with curiosity and enthusiasm.

If you are driving out there, be careful, seems some parts of the highway are like skating rinks, lots of water and under the water could be black ice. If you live where the sun is shining and the roads are bare and dry, offer a thank you.. and send positive thoughts out to people living under different skies.

Macro shot of an ice crystal,,… by Dan Cadieux https://www.instagram.com/dancadphotography/

Good morning, yesterday I mentioned how sometimes it is hard to step out of the “past” and “let go” so that we can move on, relearn to live and begin new “adventures”. Dan who usually does a lot of wildlife photography also has a love of the inner beauty of “ice”…. In delighting in his “captures” the other day, I saw a couple of the macro shots he took of ice.

This one reminded me of a star burst against a midnight sky, In prayer/meditations of late, I have prayed on the memory /reflection of how so many “friends ” have come and gone over the years, Altho’ they are not physically here, I can’t just call up and come by or /drop over for a visit… the many hours we did have of sharing/ the laughter/ the anxieties as we coped with life, all come flooding back. Their imprint on my life lives on.

One of the positives I liked about photography was the ability to not just see the “surface” but with a good lens, patience and a steady hand, we could actually see beyond what the naked eye can/could take in, IF we took the time to “see” beyond the moment, and really look and immerse one’s self in the total connection we discover new realities. Even as we enjoy the crystals that formed that one piece of ice, it was in the process of changing, and that moment in time in seconds will/would be gone never to return.

Don’t be swayed by the past; It’s what you do from now on that counts. Your failures as well as your successes are now in the past. Always look towards the future and start with a fresh outlook.

PL Precept #18  Each moment is a turning point.

2024.8

Do you ever feel like you are all alone waiting… Do you look around and “see” what was, and not what IS?

Some days, we walk around and go about our daily activities, but the world around us is not what it used to be… and we are not wanting to let go.. Maybe it is time to step back, and reconsider what we really want in life and where we “Need” to be… so that we can move on.

Give your best effort with a prayerful mind. Even if you’ve given your best effort, you may still have missed something important, Continue to have a prayerful mind even after you have completed the task at hand.
