We are all unique in our own ways, and we each and everyone of us goes through life trying to understand our selves and the world around us.  It is when we share our dreams and differences, that we learn about someone else, their culture, their world, in doing so, we broaden our own.

Please come by for tea, the door is always open, careful on the way over, it can get rather steep, but I’m always happy to meet and greet a friend, we can chat and exchange views (smiles), visiting and getting to know you, will be a very special kind of “hug”…sincere sharing/caring… is a hug in itself.  Blessings.

love this last picture, hermitage,Qianyuan mountain,Tianhua X, the capture is awesome, peaceful and surreal, did you find the hermitage? (artstation.com)

the tree that was

Q sculptureWhen we first moved to where we live now .. I had a blank canvas to work with (landscape).  I enjoy a white birch, so I planted a young 5 footer  in a corner of our property… Every year i watched it grow and blossom into a beautiful graceful shade giving tree.  Have you ever heard how a breeze can create the sweetest of sounds as it dances its way through the branches and leaves?  It is the softest of whispers.

birch, waterclolor -The first snowfall by aud Rye

This is a water color done by the artist, Aud Rye called “The first Snowfall” (chrisbeckstudio.blogspot.com)

Artist love to paint, sculpt, photograph, landscape with it, it is a tree that has its own flair, and character.

Used in a garden or landscaped setting, the birch provides a contrast to the vivid color of the flowers, and/ or the many shades of green that are planted around it.

Even in the winter its sculpted beauty is a welcome sight,

c36d1109865a24aff6819e1e12bfac7b

We lost our birch to some kind of disease, for whatever reason, it just started fade, the leaves fell away, till eventually even the branches began to show their desire to move on, I was told nothing could be done. I had watched that tree grow from a young sapling to a princess, but one does have to let go and let nature do what it must.  So… I cut it down so that only the stems remained and using sculpting materials, I used it as a base for the outdoor garden structure you see  in the first photo.

For several more years .. it had a place of honor in the garden.. while its core disintegrated .. the weather meanwhile kept changing the face of the sculpture… with each passing season,I saw how the changing temperatures and many rain and snow storms took its toll.

Now in the garden we still have an arm of the tree here and there placed in different corners of the garden so that when I come across them I’m reminded of what was.  To visitors they are whimsical pieces, faces emerging from the greenery, to me, they are part of all that I am.

Some of my pieces are posted on Pinterest, those that I still have, and some that of course I no longer have because they were sold or adopted,…. but always over the years, i get word, or a reminder, of another time and place in my life.  Like today, when I got a notice that  the above picture of my expression had been repinned twice. and liked.

When we do something, say something, we don’t always get immediate feedback, but know … please believe me… each and every thing we do… has a consequence.  The timing may not be what you want or expect, but nature travels, works in its own way, Nature is always in motions, Nature/God is always with us.. we need only be aware and listen.

Enjoy each moment of your day, cherish the experience the adventure of life.  Embrace your creativity.  Life is Art.

the wedding

4c2982ade8a6eb891efa7beaa205e0c1I attended a wedding yesterday, the bride wore a beautiful white wedding gown, the groom and his best men were all dressed in a classic tux, bridesmaids all wore lovely gowns, it really was beautiful to see. The service took place in a lovely garden, the setting was perfect for the union of two people who so in love they have committed not only to themselves that they will love each other and enter into that very special bond of man and wife… they are now making that vow public, for their friends and the world to share in their happiness.  The picture, the water, all so inviting.

4e5e22b9409a4e0f0019124b3aab8a4f

When one looked  beyond the pretty ambiance, fashion, decor, and “stage” settings, and took in the people and the overall  vibe of the place, suddenly the picture wasn’t so pristine and pretty, it took on a different season, and the water was less inviting.  Couples were not sitting in harmony with each other, they were many of them simply there.  Some I knew were openly negative with each other.  Others were simply there because it wasn’t “polite/right” to not be there.

Life is like a river that is always on the move, sometimes it is raging and driven with purpose, other times it is mellow and simply meandering, but always it is active.

A wedding ceremony to me is like a moment in the building of a bridge between two people.  How well that bridge is built and then maintained will determine how long the two parties will remain  connected.

Always however, they will be joined in the Universal bond of ONENESS, their roots will be forever entwined.

The cosmetics of the rituals that humans put on the sharing of one’s life with a partner or soul mate, or self defined.

The reality is, that we are all ONE.

How we reach out and interact with our other “selves” is very telling on where we are in our personal journey of growth.

Like a tree in the forest, we don’t always get to choose where we will sprout and grow, but grow we will, it will be the depth of our roots and the determination of our will, and our faith in our ability to grow that will see us survive.the test of time.

I am a firm believer that in using the word  love ( a word that captures a lot of imagination, and can me so many different things to anyone who uses it)  …  LOVE  … if we replace it to say ..in GOD, I will, or I am, our actions will be/would be entirely different, and our thought and commitment would also be different.

We all need air to breathe, and we all need love in our lives.

When we commit to being with someone, sharing our lives with that person, we are saying, you are the air that i breathe, the bridge between us is strong, and I will work very hard to maintain my part of the bridge.  Our roots will grow stronger, and though we may not always see the same view in or of the forest, our roots will be forever entangled and our commitment to live together on this earth will be evidenced by the security and strength of our bridge.

Hydrating – hydratant

ZqF6Ryr

I, am but a thought in your mind

I am, are two words we use a lot

I’m so busy, I am late, I am not feeling well, I am hot

when do we stop

and think about exactly who/what is I

in the I am,

do we live our lives out of a can

are we ready made

we eat fast foods, and drive in cars

is the life we live really ours

7af4daf9-b908-4cb7-992d-3b9441173fec

I challenge YOU today

to hydrate your mind, stop what you are doing

to take 60 seconds, 1 minute

for each picture. allowing the quiet of your mind

to take in what you see

Mog96N6

feel the sound, and the pull of the waves

listen to the sound of silence in the world around

feel the stillness that begins to unfold

your breathing will automatically  be deeper,

your shoulders will relax

aQfV63W

each drop that falls

creates a ripples

… that ripple … slowly …spreads out

wrapping you in the sunshine

that warms and calms your busy mind

HSyBOSb

60 seconds on each picture…… 60 seconds! …… if you took the challenge,

you just hydrated your mind with a short meditation  ……how hard was that!

save this page…… use it again ….. whenever you need to unwind…… recharge

send it to a friend …….   share the quiet …….

know when you say   “: I am ”  …… you really are!

china, heaven's gate

This is Tianmen Mountain in China, the road leading to it is often called the road to Heaven, Tianmen Mountain, Zhangiajie is in northwestern, Hunan Province.  It is long and winding, the view is amazing, one can only imagine the work and the planning that went into putting this road through the national park.  Each worker, visitor to this unique part of the world has to be caught up in the wonder of it all.

China rioad to heaven's gate

There is a hike/climb  of approximately 7 miles one can do, to reach the gate itself, (1st picture) if you make that journey the Chinese say, it i the “closest Earth Landmark to God”

China, Tianmen Mountain, heaven's gateThe natural beauty of the place has an almost ethereal feel…. I can only imagine what it must be like to actually be there. In taking in the celestial ambiance of the area, I feel myself slowing down, and letting my thoughts drift into the mist.  Yet to some the hike is among the 10 top adrenaline pumping hiking trails there is.

China, heaven gate hhiking trail

And yes, depending on circumstances, and the people I was with, I would consider doing this hike.  I mean, wow, what an adventure and a heart thumping beyond words experience it would be. We really never know what tomorrow will bring, or where we will be.  Just because we plan something, doesn’t mean it will happen.  I often think of the many times I hear “have a good day” and the automatic response, is  “same to you”.  Do we mean it? and if we do, what are we really saying, a good day to me, might not be a good day to someone else.

Just like these pictures invoke in me a sense of pure delight, they are temptations for my imagination and I longed to share them with you.  But…they may not be your cup of tea, however I can hope that you will  happily indulge me and enjoy my absolute fascination with this place.

China, Tianmen National ParkMy heart was lifted to a smiling place while sharing this with you. I feel transported to a magical place, where all is peaceful and well….  and…. dear reader, my virtual friend, I sincerely wish the same to you.

darn I missed the bus

Palermo

when we travel in unknown places

our first impression

often is a lasting impression

often we are on the tourist routes

and explore the areas

we are directed to by travel guides

or the familiar places we’ve read about

or seen on the silver screen

japan off the beaten track, away from tourists

In Japan off the beaten track,

in small villages and towns

you will find places

like above that are where

people live and tend to daily life

away from city life and

commercial hype

Vida es Arte – Life is Art

27dc9ce7f98ca334cf72e88c8a8df979

The air,  fresh and clear holds promise

the moment is as  soft as the morning dew

one moment spent truly with you

one single moment of feeling you in my heart

a connection so pure, so strong

nothing, nothing at all feels wrong

when you, dear God are with me

Out of nowhere, when I least expect it

I will see a flower and know the wonder

of all that you are

I pray today, that I will never miss your call

for I know that it is easy to fall

When I get lost and too involved

yet always, you are here,

winter,spring, summer and fall.

gone fishing

c5eb580fb3e3a24237a866bd9b5b34cf

Gone Fishing

Does that expression mean anything to you?  In days gone by, “Gone Fishing” meant just that, someone had put a shingle outside their business and had taken time to go fishing.

Going on a holiday, the phrase would signify that the person was taking time to get away from the city, their 9 – 5 routine was going to be on hold… they were “going fishing”.  Family was packed up and away they headed for a seaside vacation, time at the lake, river, anywhere but in the city.

My son goes fishing, once the season starts, he puts a kayak on his car and off he goes, he will fish whenever he has the time to get away. No he doesn’t live in a small town, or out in the country, he lives in downtown “Big City”  It his way of finding his quiet time, he dedicates his time to making time for something that brings him an inner quiet to recharge his batteries to tend to his day-to-day challenges/opportunities.

Opportunities don’t always just happen, we have to be proactive in working towards our goals,to ensure we remain, spiritually healthy.
