Good morning, Bonjour…

Have you ever been walking on a clear day, just going about on your every day travels, when you find yourself suddenly shrouded with a fog, that seemed to appear out of nowher…..There is an old expression, “i was blind sided” means something happens and you never saw it coming. It happens. Sometimes more often than we would like it to.

Lessons in life are never straight forward, they are a way for life to remind us that we have gotten slack or lazy in how we are living or proceeding in life. We do not walk alone on the earth, we are surrounded by others who are going about their lives in the same way. Each with feelings, miseries and problems of their own. It is how we deal with the challenges in life that sets us apart and makes us unique in who we are, and what we are. Not just towards others, but to ourselves. We must never forget that we count, and that love, and light comes from within.

We need not look far to see the signs of distress, loneliness, and abandoned dreams, we need only turn on the telly or a radio to hear about the conflicts happening all over the world. The reality is that is only one side of the coin. In this creative photo manipulation, instead of the foot coming down – causing gloom and doom, it is being lifted and kept away by the steady, reliable protective hand of GOD/TAO.

The TAO/WAY is always there … ALWAYS, we decide we can look at it in the distance, or we can walk through the door/portal and discover what lies beyond self imposed restrictions. We are responsible for our choices and our actions.

Believe, have faith, cross over – discover new realities, you are and never will be alone – God is everywhere, in the air you breathe and the essence of your life.

“all things come to fruition when the heart (content) and the object (form) are in accord with one another”

I don’t think that I can count the number of times, that I discover that my reality and the actual happening, and interaction with others, is totally bonkers. I talked the other day of time, and perception, every day I learn how askew my reality is, and that because of that, I create my own frustrations and sometimes anxiety. As a young child i can recall how other children would taunt me and call me names..just because… I was different, I was Asian in a very different culture. Hurt and confused I would run to my father, who would quietly take me aside and explain to me that in life, there would always be others who don’t understand or accept that I was different. What counted was, my thoughts and understanding about myself. I was young, not even close to a double-digit age. But he would walk me through understanding that it was because they really didn’t know me yet.. and that I should go out and get to know them.. He didn’t let me stay in or shield me, he sent me back out to play. He taught me that it was their problem if they lacked insight, not mine.

He taught me that life was to be lived, and that meant accepting that it would not always be sunny days, or happy, but what was important was that I like myself, and enjoy the world around me, because it was a gift. God/TAO was always, always with me, part of me, I was never alone. In going back out to the play, I did get to know the other boys and girls, and I learned another language. To this day, my friends from that time of my life, tell me what it meant for them to discover friendship with me, someone with a different cultural background,, and how it changed for them, their perception of others they later met in life that were “different”

The Universe is vast, and often we find ourselves alone with a view that is beyond words, or in a situation that is just so awesome to our inner psyche that.. there simply is nothing to do but absorb and take in the moment. Even if someone shared that ledge with you… no two people will experience the same emotion in that moment, or “see” the same “picture”.

The Universe, does provide, only it may not be when you want, rather, it will be … when the time is such that you are ready for that discovery/recognition.

The good the bad and the ugly

Beautiful isn’t it, the Laurentian Mountains, Quebec, Canada. The National Geographic posted this picture of the Laurentian Mountains, you can read more about this cottage mecca on travel.nationalgeographic.com. This is where the family cottage is, so this was our destination yesterday. We looked forward to the trip, it had been awhile since we had made the journey even though it is only about a 2 hour drive from where we live.

This is the kind of view that we have from the deck of the cottage, however, there is no other cottage in front of us, it is a drop over a cliff to the water’s edge. The only way to the cottage is to boat across or to walk around the bay. The car has to be parked along a road that soon will be barred from any vehicles, and then one crosses over and enters dense bush and forested area where a trail has been made over the years that is really only a foot path. A footpath that has eroded over time leaving pockets of mud, wet slippery rocks, and the need for a rope to help guide you up the steep incline of the mountain that has over the years, become less stable, and requires a mountain goat’s instinct to maneuver.

This looks more appealing, at least there are no bugs in your face, no tree branches hitting you, or mud pockets that will suck your shoes off if you land in one. I should mention, that some kind person had laid down the odd 2×4 to use, a la tight rope walking so you could move balancing one foot in front of the other, as you move across some of the very wet areas.

The rope was kind of like this one, except there was no one to guide or help you if you slipped. The actual rope that was there, my husband later informed me that when it had initially appeared, they had to use gloves to haul themselves up on it. No I had not been prepared for this, I had to use my bare hands.

Ok so I have exaggerated somewhat, maybe more than a bit, but to me that 10- 15 minutes in the bush, was not my cup of tea. the drive up was super fantastic, the visit with “family” at the cottage was excellent. The fresh air and the quiet exhilarating. Seeing little chipmunks up close and hearing the loons, loved it., My thoughtful sister in law rowing me back across the river with one of the dogs, a god’send. Got to experience it all.. the good, the bad and the ugly.. Quebec is a beautiful Province. I loved the adventure, I slept like a baby!

Good Morning Everyone!

In my meditations this morning, I came across a Blessing Chant, I’d kike to share it with you. It is a chant adapted from the Pattanumodana (Teachings of Buddha >edited by Jack Kornnfield)

Just as water flowing in the streams and rivers fills the ocean, thus may all your moments of goodness touch and benefit all beings, those here now and those gone before.

May all your wishes be soon fulfilled as completely as the moon on a full moon night, as successfully as from the Wish-Fulfilling Gem. May all dangers be averted; may all disease leave you.

May no obstacles come across your way and may you enjoy happiness and long life.

May those who are always respectful,honoring the way of the elders, prosper in the four blessings of old age, beauty, happiness, and strength.

PL’s lesson of the day is about being pro-active, in an ever changing society. a reminder to keep our minds and eyes in tune with the changes and to learn to deal with them in a proactive manner. This busy picture taken in Amsterdam, Nederlands (found on Pinterest) while peaceful in it’s own way, is not the tranquility captured by the photographer of the top picture.

Where would you like to be today? Which destination captures your imagination, if you could close your eyes and with a snap of the fingers be right there, in what direction would you go? Choices, ahhhh isn’t life grand! Have a blissful day everyone!

Peace on Earth

Simplicity………. the serenity and calm the photographer of this picture was able to capture , look at how the composition leads us over the water, into a covered shelter, then out again up into the pristine mountains. This morning I imagined the freshness of the air, the cool cleansing water on my feet as I start into the water. Look how clear the water is, it is so pristine. As the light and shadows play across the face of the water, the patterns change and create the sensation of motion and movement over the stillness. Light and shadows have been used to add depth and character to the “still” picture.

Love is like this moment, as humans we often see only the surface, and not the total complete and complex intricacies/features that come together to bring the emotion of love into our lives. Love is about opening our eyes and hearts to the uniqueness in all around us, not just wanting what we know.

Today’s world is overflowing with problems, troubles, strife, and unrest. let’s pray for more understanding of differences, and for the happiness and health of others whether we know them or not. Love is such a powerful emotion/feeling. Pure love does not discriminate, it initiates. Love is not about the flesh it is about the state of being human, and very spiritual.

Believe – walk in faith – you are never on your own

Love is about trust – trust is rooted in honesty – honesty grows from Love. allow love to show in your world today, share a smile, extend a hand, reach out…… you can’t go wrong when you share a HUG …. have a good day everyone! Oyashikiri

vrijdag nu… Good morning!

When we have been in upper NY State, we often will see a lone Amish buggy making its way down the side of the highway towards its destination. Cars are whizzing by, driver and horse are not oblivious to the automobiles, their noise and fumes, they simply just keep heading to where they are going appearing to be in their own space and time. I never can pass without thinking of how in many ways it would be nice to be sitting along side the driver on a dirt road with nothing but natural woodlands and meadows on either side. Instead of concrete,, the horses were making their way over well trod earth. Day dreaming and reality. What a pair. We need a daily dose of both.

Life is a balance of negatives and positives, often we find ourselves experiencing the emotions of life on one side of the coin or the other. When you turn the coin on its side, you can see that the side is slim and though you see the rim of the coin, you cannot see both side of the coin at the same time. When I found the following quote this morning, I knew it was to be shared. Is love and being in love different? Are they different states of BEING?

Look for the beauty around us, appreciate the good qualities in others. We all have our moments of “ops did I really do/say that” The ongoing challenge is to see happiness and positives in our daily lives. We have to begin with being honest with our inner self… loving who we are, and where we are in life. We are alive.. this is vrijdag, Friday… we have another day to be creative.. Life is ART. And best of all.. YOU are LOVED LOVED LOVED, we are ALL ONE in this glorious UNIVERSE… reach out and touch someone today… let your smile shine!

Smile its Tuesday

With so many places in the world experiencing “weather drama”, in the UK many are dealing with rain & flooding, in the States its snow,blizzards and freezing rain & Canada is getting its share of “stormy weather” I delved into the picture files and found a highway in New Zealand with clear blue skies and sunshine. It is Tuesday a brand new day, there isn’t another car in sight at the moment, I can put the top down and enjoy the warm balmy weather. The exhilaration of being on the open road, heading into unknown territory, new discoveries, I love, love, love it. I love that moment of seeing what is around the bend. The delight in savouring the moment and then !! the joy at seeing another bend up ahead. WOW….The bend up ahead will eventually come, but….. NOW is where we are today.

Sometimes we are so intent on looking ahead, we drive by too quickly, we miss road stops along the way that hold wonders and opportunities that will enrich our lives as we travel towards our future. Look, see, feel, smell,and if you can touch.connect . It is through experimenting, trial and error that we develop and grow.Never deny love in your life. Love is a precious gift the more you love, the more it grows. The more you share, the more comes back to you. Yes, it can be scary at first, but each step forward brings you closer and closer to living a life filled with an eternal love that will embrace and hold you forever.

True love cannot be measured, bought or sold. True love is unconditional and will stand the test of time, and transcend all mortal boundaries.

I pray for each and every one of you today, may your day be blessed with an inner calm and quiet that refreshes and soothes. May your frown be replaced with a smile….. Know the warm glow of the “Divine” glows and grows within you. Blessings….Oyashikiri
