noticing now

I woke with too many thoughts running through my head. So much so, I wanted to turn over and pull the covers up over my head. Then I remembered that today was the 21st. and a day for giving thanks for the blessings in my life. Followed by that thought came the reminder that my late husband’s birthday is this week-end.

These doors are on campus in Japan (PL headquarters Foreign Student building). We would roll out the futons at night to sleep, and then roll them back up during the day.

I think I may have a fuddled day. My thoughts seem to be drifting from one place to another. This next picture was in Quebec. (top picture too)

Maybe I will just stay where ever my day takes me… and say thank you for whatever comes my way.

Thank you thank you thank you… Let’s live with gratitude towards everyone and everything all day today.

Sorry folks, I’ll just say thank you.. and log off.. the grey cells are just not wanting to activate. As I continue on with my day, I’ll remember that every moment is an opportunity to practice (mindfulness) and be aware that – this too shall pass….

Treasure each moment…

Is it just me… can anyone else see the bear’s face?

No two people will ever see the same thing even if they are standing in the same place, same time of day, and are both approx. the same height etc. I was busy being mindful, taking my time, walking slowly, and had almost gone past this stump when something made me look towards it. The forest was quiet, there were woodpeckers being busy, and a few crows calling back and forth, but otherwise, it was an uneventful morning..

Then I felt rather than saw the bear.. it took me a few minutes to realize that the energy was coming from the stump,… no matter how I looked at it, where I stood, the face was there looking back at me. I didn’t have my Nikon.. so used my cell. I think the grizzly is still there. ??

I took this little beauty last year on one of my early walks at Petrie Island, there were a lot of them, this one stood long enough for me to grab a picture. This year so far I’ve only come across the odd one here and there, mind you our weather has been up and done, mild, cold, warmer, rain, then just to make it more interesting snow.

hello spring…

The woodland floor is starting to send out lovely green beauties… I discovered a patch in the sunlight the other day when walking around a water logged area .. that needed to be avoided… =^_^= always something fun to find when on a discovery walk.

The ribs are still angry with me from my foray yesterday. So today I will refrain from picking up large/medium,, long pieces of fallen trees to build my little “wood stands” along the trails. The other day I met a racoon, saw a hawk, what will I find today =^_^=… I will have to leave the camera .. it will be too heavy for me with my ribs being so “tender” (yes even with my “cotton” vest that supports the weight)

Reminder… on the 21st. Thanksgiving/day of Appreciation service will be at 7 pm. for those that can attend.

storytellers ..

Hello… I took a different path today while wandering in the woods.. Look at what I found. Anyone have an idea, or story on how this came to be?

Mr. Racoon here was my only companion that travelled along with me.. well part of the way.. I did have a hawk fly over who gave me a nod.. but continued on his journey.

I did stop outside the beaver’s home to see if he or one of his family would come along, but, no.. the day was my own. This is where I was, when the hawk flew over head.

Good Morning… ordinarily I would have cropped this picture,, I was interested in the fallen tree when i stopped to grab the picture – but when I saw it on the screen I was loath to cut away the quiet flowing water.. it was so beckoning. stretching its shimmer across to the distant shoreline. I left it. LOL my choice.

Snow has melted, leaving the trees waiting patiently for the sun to warm the ground around them, and to release the awakening sap so that their new buds will begin to appear. Perhaps not as awe inspiring as the fall when they are wearing their autumn colours, but it is peaceful, quiet and there is an anticipation in the air. See the sign, I first showed it to you a couple of years back. By the end of this growing season, it will be interesting to see how much more it will be hidden by the growth around it.

When you face difficulties start with anything you can do. When you are able to grasp the situation, you will surely be able to notice something that you can do.
