my attempt at wood burning… on the left is a sculpture in mixed media (garden elf) done for the outside,
Face each moment, each place with a fresh outlook. If you handle a situation with preconceived notions or prejudices, your judgement will be clouded. Take on each situation with a blank slate, as if seeing it for the first time.

The elf lasted almost 20 years outdoors in the elements, the wood burning barn, I have no idea where it is now. Life is…
The shortcut to progress is to listen with a humble mind. If you are stuck in your own ways you will eventually become bogged down. Let’s remember to be humble, learning what we can from the knowledge, advice and suggestions of others.

Applaud the Makoto of others. When you encounter good faith or kindness’ in others, make sure that you acknowledge it fully. This will make both you and them happy. (Makoto, One’s utmost sincerity) PL2016.23
PL Precept #2 To live is to express One’s Self.
Visiting with friends, I was looking for a picture to show them of a mutual friend, I had to go back through pictures posted many many years ago. Look what surfaced.. pictures of the days w hen I worked with a product called Powertex (that is a demo piece I did to advertise classes).. I combined the Powertex with another product, Apoxie Sculpt to do “garden/outdoor sculptures”. Interesting how something that was such a passion at one time, is now only a memory.
Out for the day, exploring, sometimes we agree, sometimes there is a decision to be made. How we handle the moment, is important, Sometimes we have to step back, and rethink the moment.
There is always a solution. Always believe that there is a solution to any problem that comes your way, and work with conviction to solve it.

PL Precept #4 Being annoyed limits your expression.
Say what needs to be said without hesitation. Do you find yourself compromising , holding back from expressing what is truly in your heart? Don’t be afraid and just say what needs to be said.
Take on any task with earnest enthusiasm and it will become interesting. No matter what it is, if you really get into it, you will be able to find joy in doing it. The important point is to put your whole heart into what you are doing.

Every morning I visit this tree.. and each morning I see signs it is enjoying the balmy weather and the brighter sunshine, The other morning it was full of chattering birds, The happy chatter filled the air with enthusiasm and brought smiles to everyone around.

Hello. look what a friend introduced me to! We were talking about conservation areas, our dogs, just catching up … When I was shown a picture of the family dogs, I noticed her backyard was different from what I know to be backyards here where I live. Oh, yes, we are in the “high desert” she said, that is the Garden of the Gods you see in the background. Then she sent me the link to the web page for the Nature Park. Colorado! I have seen pictures in the past taken when other friends have holidayed there… however.. let me tell you… I book marked the page, and I will be going back to look at the stunning vistas again.
How easy it is to forget that there is so much in life to be explore and experienced. I would love to experience actually seeing those beautiful animals myself. Or taking in what looks like crisp dry air. I love my four seasons here in Canada, but that park sure looks like it would be fascinating to explore.
Treasure those fleeting inspirations. The time to seize an opportunity is when you first notice it. Good timing is crucial to working efficiently.
