Photographs of Japan as seen by a young man (Lucas) who is ticking off an item on his bucket list. He is touring Japan, and sending back pictures to his Mother who has with his consent sent them on to me, with permission to share them with you. When I opened up my e-mail and saw the pictures I was immediately taken back there, how I miss the tranquility and beauty I found there. I try not to remember the food, but it is hard to do, I ate so well when I was there.

Japan when you visit, is what you see in the pictures, There are pockets of serenity everywhere.

Today’s calendar-

Get things started with grit. If you work on things in daily life with the attitude of “let’s do it!” you will feel a power to accomplish things. People around you will rely on you.

here I am requesting HELP .. yes please if there is anyone out there who can unravel the secret for me I will be eternally grateful. Please Please Please… I confess I am not domestic and I have never been, but lately it is beyond me.. how to do a wash with sheets in the load and not have twisted horror balls of damp knotted sheets when you go to collect your wash. You have a small load, but in it is a fitted sheet, or maybe a duvet cover,(single bed size) .. I use dryer balls (on someone’s recommendation) it still happens!!!!! Surely you don’t run the machine with only a single sheet in it?

OK.. sigh.. deep breath… I’ve done my mini rant for help. There has to be a domestic goddess out there.. or magic merlin.. I don’t care… please.. what does one do to have a load of dry clothes without the knotted horrors I keep getting.

ahhh.. ok.. on with the day. Have a great Tuesday everyone.

Imagination

Our imagination can take us many places. I have always loved wandering through various artistic expressions, places with new shapes, colours .. places that have been imagined or created by other artists. Where fantasy and reality meet in a way that gives the viewer their own “moment in time” thanks to someone else’s talent at creating visuals that would not be experienced otherwise.( Second life, a interactive “game” created and run by Linden Labs in California.)

Today so much of our input from regular media, is about wars, disagreements, disputes, strikes, neighbour against neighbour.. it is really a pleasure being able to spend time in an adult world that is full of creativity, music and yes social interactions that are .. sometimes nonsense, word games, good old fashioned card games, (I love a game that is played with dice, much like Yahtzee) Best of all .. there are people I’ve met from all over the world that share the joy of visiting a virtual world and the delights we find there.

I am not saying for a moment, that there are not people who love to create war games, and replay themes that are on the violent side.. but life is life and each and everyone of us, has our own way of thinking and doing things. Like in the real world, you can pick and chose your friends and places you go.

In all of this.. imagination is the key… in expressing our creativity ,.. imagination is the driving force .. in all we do.. ie how did you dream up that wonderful recipe, or come up with the idea to write a song, book, poem….. let your imagination flow free, express yourself with the ingenuity and creativity in you… let it out, let it grow.

Develop new ideas through your imagination – softly and flexibly. If you could find a way to add a twist, you will have more joy.

That is when we turn a page, and find a place that speaks to the “want” in you. Whether that be fantasy, a good book, a visit to room with a different view…. we have a lot of choices these days. It is up to you.

Time. How one person’s cast away becomes a piece of art for someone else. I was taken with this bike, but at this time of my life, I am not collecting, I am decluttering .. If you use Facebook, you probably get their incoming mail .. wanting you to see or remember what you have posted in the past. I do use Facebook to connect with friends overseas .. but I am not a FB regular. That said, the other day, I got a message asking me if I wanted to see .. pictures I had taken over the past year(s).. they titled it Woods. I was waiting for a friend to call … flicking through recorded programs on the telly I saw a program that I had saved, but had not an inkling why. It was a period piece, along the lines of Jane Austin… (if that means anything to you..) Not usually my cup of tea, but since I only had so much time, I switched it on. What different times. It called to mind the church that I would drive past on my way to Cornwall, it also has its own small cemetery (full of history.)

My husband and I would always remark on the ambiance and grandeur of this church. In its time it would have serviced all the farms and communities for miles around.(It was one of his favourite churches, we often stopped in their parking lot, next to a recreation yard they had, to let the dogs stretch their legs) During covid, I stopped at the church and spoke the minister that is there now.. Times have changed… ,,,drastically. I wrote about it at the time, he was putting up a big screen, parishioners would come on Sundays during covid to watch and partake of the service in their cars. He had erected and was putting final touches to a huge screen… beside and off a little was a recording booth. When there is a will there is a way.

Choo choo train

The little train that could, would and will delight you if you are visiting Brockville. It was a beautiful day, there were people out enjoying the day.. all along the water’s edge.. families and tourists mingled in the sunshine. It was nice to see people out taking time to explore. Lots of dogs being walked, even a musician playing the sax outside the main attraction which was the old railway tunnel, now a tourist attraction.

There was a lot to do and see in Brockville whether it is an outdoor adventure .. scuba diving, kayaking, or a sight seeing tour of the 1000 Islands on the St. Lawrence in a traditional sightseeing cruise or a high speed soft adventure aboard a wildcat. There is something for everyone. We didn’t visit the Aquatarium, but I think Bonnie put it on her list of possible attractions for another visit.

One attraction that I would have loved to try was the Forest Adventure.. TreeTop Trekking -Thousand Islands-.. if you want to know more visit TREETOPTREKKING.COM. You all know I won’t be trying that soon, but a gal can dream =^_^=

If you are going to do it, do it joyfully. If you have to do something, choose to do it with joy and enthusiasm. By doing so, you will experience a deeper sense of beauty.
