Life is Art! Buen dia…

sunset, God paints the skiesLife is Art.

There is only one you, an individual, unique and special, You are the artist in your life,  the environment and the things that happen around you , are the materials used for your self expression. Express yourself honestly, and with integrity in all you do.  Have courage for the great sorrows in your life, and patience for the smaller ones.  Happiness is not the absence of conflict, but the ability to deal with it. If your troubles are deep-seated or long-standing, try praying.  It works.  When you are happy, share your joy.

sun 5ba5f50f7b0b1c81fd144b5aae721129Focus on your true feelings, do your best to express your self honestly, practice Makoto (utmost sincerity) in everything you do.  Kamuwaza (God’s will) is part of our everyday life, like the weather, it has a purpose, When you live believing in your Oneness with the Universe, not loosing sight of your God given individuality, you will experience the true joy of living.  The joy of self expression.  We are truly leading our lives when we live expressing ourselves to the fullest…. and this… is what makes us truly happy.

Blessings dear friends are heaped on you today, that your day will be filled with the joy and happiness of  a happy heart.        Today, Tomorrow and Always ……. Oyashikiri

Ciao .. come sta? Hello!

Israel,Jerusalem, Olive tree

My day began at the foot of this ancient olive tree in Jerusalem.  I began my meditations there because I had been reading about symbols surrounding eating, and how they often reflect the sanctity associated with the basic human experience of eating.  One thing led to another and I found myself gazing on this amazing photograph of a tree so old it must have been around since the days when  early prophets walked the earth.  The mother trunk reminded me of my visit to Japan and the PL Peace Tower.

IMG_7266

Inside the Peace Tower there is an elevator that takes us up to one of the higher floors where we can look down and view the land around, PL headquarters, the town, valley, farm lands. and far beyond.  It is  a spectacular sight, one orchestrated by man.  There are no modern features to the Olive Tree it stands there in all its natural glory and is a living monument to time and Mother Nature’s constant presence. The Olive Tree carries the same symbolic significance in many oriental and European countries. It is the symbol of Peace.

The 1st day of each month, in Perfect Liberty we celebrate  – Day of Peace –  Through a ceremony, we pray for World Peace and dediiate ourselves to live as peaceful human beings in our own worlds which includes our home, school, work and community.  Join with us today in spreading love beyond  our borders and out into the entire world.  Pray for happiness and peace – everywhere, for everyone.

The Answer > by Lowell Fillmore ..

When for a purpose I had prayed and prayed and prayed………Until my words seemed worn and bare with arduous use,

And I knocked and asked and knocked and asked again,   And all my fervor and persistence brought no hope,

I paused to give my weary brain a rest……….. And ceased my anxious human cry.

In that still moment,  After self had tried and failed ……. There came a glorious vision of God’s power.

And, lo, my prayer was answered in that hour.                                                                         Oyashikiri

Good Morning Everyone!

abandoned thatre in the desert of Sinai

An abandoned theatre in the Sinai desert.  I’ve been here, not physically, but I sure do know this feeling. Standing on stage, looking out at a sea of empty seats, or in some cases an auditorium full of faces looking back at me, with a feeling of ” OK, now what”  I remember once I was talking to a huge gathering about the subject on the importance of managing stress in the workplace.  Part of the “talk” was going to be a demonstration on proper ergonomics  in a work setting, this was in the early days of computers, when hospitals and government offices were changing over to the use of a computer. Today we of course take this technology in stride. Some of you will not remember when a cell phone was unheard of, and when the first ones did come along for more general use, they were the size of a man’s shoe.  LOL remember Get Smart… if you don’t, its OK, if you do, you’ll have a chuckle.  Anyway I digress, back to auditoriums, lecture halls and the like.

Addressing a large gathering and actually reaching all your audience is next to impossible, but if you can reach a good portion of them,  you’ve had a successful meeting.  When there is a crowd, it is not always easy to listen to what is being said, we are often distracted by our own busy minds or the chatter of others.  In a room full of other people, it is easy to be distracted, but on a one and one, are you a good listener?  Back in the day when this theatre pictured here was being used, what was it that drew such a large audience, was it a big screen that is out of sight, or is this where people gathered to hear or listen to special events.  Guess, for now we won’t know, BUT, when you are in a situation where you are the listener, in the now and today world, it is really important to clear your mind so you are hearing what is being said, so you can know a person’s true intentions

One of my realities,  that I learned early on in my career was, people came to my talks, often I faced a room full of people, not because I was such a hot speaker, or the topic I was talking about, was important to their work habits and helpful in managing stress in their lives, but because it offered them a break in their routine.  It gave them an opportunity to get away from the office, and be in a place that was full of people in a more laid back setting, and …… often there was free coffee/tea and sandwiches and treats. =^_^= The ones who came to listen, and did take in what was being presented to them, were the ones that walked away with new information and helpful guidelines to make their time at work or at home, a more productive and healthy place to be.  The others, well they came away happy too, they had just had a nice morning or afternoon break from their everyday, ho-hum workdays”jobs”.

Teachers, Librarians, Health Care Professionals, are all learning to adapt to a world that is full of technology. Technology has many benefits, but human interactions, can not be allowed to become a thing of the past. Communication, social and otherwise, needs to be maintained. Today – I hear about internet learning, schools and programs where students no longer need to go physically to the University or where the employee can work from home, nice, and certainly there are positives,  but care has to be taken that we don’t allow our world to become empty and void of “real contact” with others.

Sunday Greetings!

kayaking, iceEver tried ice kayaking………….. I certainly haven’t, nor had I even heard of it …  There is so much of life beyond  what we know in our own personal  worlds. So much to see, do and explore.  Question begs, do we do them, do we even get up out of our comfort zones and  travel the roads, or are we arm chair travelers.  No answer required, you know the answer in your heart.  Recently I had a “blue” patch, I had a yearning for a good cry, had no idea why.  It just washed over me. To me this is a sign from above, means something is happening in and around me and I’m not reading the clues, I’m missing something.  The Universe has been obviously sending me subtle messages and I’ve been missing them. We all have such ahHA moments.  In our own way, we are faced with a challenge and for some reason, either we follow the same old patterns at dealing with them, or we stumble through the process and really come no closer to resolving the matter.

Tao say, a wise man/woman knows when to stand still.  Go neither forward. or sideways..  stand still, retreat  step or two.. stop. Practice being still.  Pray, meditate.. don’t just do it.. you have to put our whole effort into being still, listening to your inner voice.  Really listen.   Sometimes we reach a point where change is both necessary and timely, but we cling and try to hold on.  Nature is every changing, trying to hold on to something is futile, spring, becomes summer, and summer fades into fall, our lives move forward, whether we want them to or not.   PL Precept. #11   Always be with God.

michigan,Glen arbor, crystal lake by forestladt flickrThe photographer of this picture, managed to show us the fish in the water, and the stillness of the lake/stream…. I’m winter wearing, =^_^= and long for the sounds of spring/summer and fall……  but today is here, and I will embrace what the day has to offer.  Starting with saying my good morning to each and every one of you.  Thank you for sharing this moment with me.  I so appreciate and love each and every one of you.  God Bless…………Oyashikiri

Remember to smile…                         smilePencil   psst  do you know what fish symbolize?

Peace on Earth

6130ac647fb27744634b1f2f5ef73485Simplicity………. the serenity and calm the photographer of this picture was able to capture , look at how the composition leads us over the water, into a covered  shelter, then out again up into the pristine mountains. This morning I imagined the freshness of the air, the cool cleansing water on my feet as I start into the water.  Look how clear the water is, it is so pristine.  As the light and shadows play across the face of the water, the patterns change and create the sensation of motion and movement over the stillness. Light and shadows have been used to add depth and character to the “still” picture.

Love is like this moment, as humans we often see only the surface, and not the total complete and complex intricacies/features that come together to bring the emotion of love into our lives.  Love is about opening our eyes and hearts to the uniqueness in all around us, not just wanting what we know.

Today’s world is overflowing with problems, troubles, strife, and unrest.  let’s pray for more understanding of differences, and for the happiness and health of others whether we know them or not.  Love is such a powerful emotion/feeling.  Pure love does not discriminate, it initiates.  Love is not about the flesh it is about the state of being human, and very spiritual.

7c765a71b222d384dd91ba11079b38e6Believe – walk in faith – you are never on your own

Love is about trust – trust is rooted in honesty – honesty  grows from Love.  allow love to show in your world today, share a  smile, extend a hand, reach out……  bear hugs you can’t go wrong when you share a HUG …. have a good day everyone!    Oyashikiri

Welcome another day!

Yesterday I found myself at the bottom of the steps in a beautiful environment,  in reflecting on my post, I realized that not all steps are a welcome sight.  That there are days when our thoughts and emotions are in a different place.  Or should I say, in wandering through the hallways of the brain, we come across a scene perhaps like this one.

9a98ec7ae23e621913bcac5743154dc4Pause for a moment.  Look at the picture that the photographer of this shot captured.  I’m not sure I know his/her intent, but to me it speaks volumes.  Much like this one does.  Again it was a toss up on which picture I would use today.  Both spoke volumes to me and had me meditating on my thoughts for some time before I took to the keyboard.

339939f9024c0c5082a0d995848a9bcdBoth of these pictures (for me) capture the essence of life at given moments during certain cycles we live through.  When all around seems dreary, painful, lost, when our hearts are heavy, and our laughter barely a whisper, it is in such times that we have to call on our faith, know that the beauty is still there, that the sunshine is merely behind a cloud.  The moment will pass, and the light of love and happiness with shine through once more.  To love, to care is to allow yourself to feel vulnerable.  Mother Nature is ALWAYS present.  WE cannot know happiness without sadness, they go hand in hand, when you hold out your hand, you only see one side until you turn your hand over to see the palm. They are ONE.

negotiating feelings

But…… When you suddenly have an Ahhh moment, when your gut feeling is so loud you can’t ignore it,( it is always a surprise that so many of us do just that).  We push the thought, or emotion back into the safe area of our ‘brain”.  Trying hard to wish it away.  If we have lived long enough to build walls around our “hearts” we go into protective mode.

6acda2b35799 Butchart Gardens, VancouverThis picture I use as an example ….. the moment can be beautiful,  fresh and alive, but we see only the stairs that we will have to climb to truly enjoy the moment/view.  Past memories float to the frontal section of our brain.  We flounder, we hesitate, and lose our way.  The lessons that happen in life, usually keep recurring, there is a reason for that. Each time the Universe puts the challenge on our path, we make  wrong choices.  If the challenge appears, it is because there is still something to be learned.  We still have yet to really learn the lesson.

Our lives our shaped by the way we express  ourselves each and everyday.  If we go through life not paying attention, living half heartedly, ignoring our intuition, we cloud our vision with illusions.  We are missing opportunities to live to our fullest potential.  It is important to find one’s own happiness, but it is also wrong to live selfishly so only you are happy.  Looking beyond our “selves” towards our friend/partner’s happiness, builds a stronger and healthier relationship.  It is a very difficult lesson.  One we need to master to achieve world peace.

…. God, help me choose the path that is right for me… Help me understand there is no wrong or right.  Help me learn to  detach with love . I will surrender to the good of the moment, and get through the discomfort. One step at a time.  I will practice acceptance, and believe and trust the magic that acceptance will bring into my life.    Oyashikiri
