Monday Morning

Was it a dream, or was it real

I walked through the gardens, down towards the old ruins

when the horseman appeared .. just over the hill to my left.

How gallant the rider looked as the horse neared

slowing down to a slow trot, the man smiled

I smiled back, it was such a lovely morning,

there was a bird singing in the trees near where we were,

the morning light was bright with promise

somehow I knew, this would be someone I could like

with the ease of a man used to being in the saddle

he reached down, and beckoned to me

the horse and rider, now were standing still

without hesitation, I walked towards his outstretched hand

after all, he was on my land, surely he was part of our clan

Our eyes met, I saw the twinkle of mischief at the same time as

I felt my feet leave the ground…..

“ohhhh” escaped from my startled lips…

with practiced ease, he had lifted and placed me on the saddle between his knees..

and we were off, the horse had begun to move with powerful strides…

he leaned in and held me close, not a word was spoken,

as the horse was guided back towards the other side of the grounds

away from the ruins, and my home ….

is this a dream, will I awake to find I’m still nestled snuggly in my bed…

or….

I loved the look of the freshly cut wood…

The snow is melting, there are still a lot of icy patches, the few runners that went by, had to be careful, it was slippery and very wet in places.

I woke to a dreary gray sky, a steady rain, and a forecast of ongoing rain for the day. I have to admit I was not keen to jump out of bed and dress for an outing. So, instead I tackled an admin project I needed to do. By noon I had that done and could look at what to do next. I had been thinking about the birds and how they were doing, I saw that it was still a downpour… but .. decided, rain or not, I should check to see what they were doing, IF they were even still there.

It poured sheets of rain while I made my way out of city towards the green space. I’m happy to report that as I drove closer to my destination, the rain slowed down. By the time I got to the parking area…. it had stopped raining!! Yuuu hooo katchooo. I opened the door, stepped out to the wonderful sound of birds singing and gossiping.. the chatter got even louder as I walked down towards the feeders.. My heart sang.

I saw my female Grosbeak dart up into the trees, when I put the fresh sunflower seeds in her basket she was not long in coming down to enjoy them. She did have a few words to say to me tho’.. I have been neglectful.. Who knew she was going to stick around. I can’t swear to it, but I think she gave me a bit of a talking to. the other birds that made me aware of their presence were my (yes my) wood peckers.. they went to the empty nut feeders and squawked. NO its not my imagination.. the nut feeders they like were all empty except for one and it was almost empty.

Properly chastised I dutifully refilled two of the feeders. I did remove two .. and I did not refill the suet. I do want them to start seeking food from their environment. Besides Suet can go rancid in the warmer weather. I put down sunflower seeds and peanuts.. the birds were happy. I was happy. I really love them.. when they start singing and chirping away I could listen to them for hours. All the time I spent with them, the sky stayed dry. No blue Jays, even with the peanuts..

There were birds everywhere in the trees all around in the woods, it was a full blown chorus. The songs were coming from all directions, from deep in the woods, the area across the road, I was so happy that I made the drive out to visit with them. Happiness is following your heart!

**the haughty look on the female that Kevin took, is really how she can look, but she does have another look.. that is like a smile.. and when she is happy she has the sweetest voice. =^_^=

I think I’m having or on a bird high =^_^=… nite all.. I’ll tweet myself to bird land.. —

a garden primitive I sculpted for the garden years ago.. I think he is still out there somewhere.

Today isn’t just another day, it is Friday, and it is full of possibilities. Have a cuppa, relax and then take off, make today count. Hope you get to smile a lot.. Smile and pass it on.

When fresh snow falls, it lies clean and crisp. As the day progresses, it no longer has the same quality or look, its been walked on, trod on, run across, dropped on…. that initial moment of newness disappears with the passage of time.

silent prayer

With the sunlight shining, bringing hope of a new season

I am being discarded, left defenseless to fend on my own

I did my best to serve as best I could

my trim, my beautiful scrolled design, so loved at one time

is now, no longer enjoyed or even seen

if only this was a dream

I can only hope, someone will rescue me

I’ve done my best – that is all I could or can do

for now I must stand alone – leave my fate up to you

a silent prayer I offer with all my heart

that what ever will be, will be what is best for me

for there are others out there, that are physically alone

but know, that with God we are ONE.

every day is a new beginning, and a journey into tomorrow

Wednesday !!!

You can get all dressed up, do your hair, pretend its going to be a glamour day, but no matter how you cut the cake, if there is work to be done, or matters to be attended to that aren’t fun… You have to set your mind to the task and get it done.

giving a presentation can be fun, interesting and certainly if it is appreciated .. rewarding

Usually there is always a lot of hard work and effort that goes into putting/pulling something off in a seamless fashion, or presenting a “brilliant” feature documentary. For a brief time we can look very professional and maintain a certain air of efficiency and know how. BUT, we all need down time, and we all, each and everyone of us, needs time to regroup, to be still, to reconnect with our inner Selves.

Catching up and sharing time with friends.. that is IMPORTANT too. Here Alo was visiting with Sister Qu who is the resident hokyoshi (assistant minister) at the PL Center in Second Life. http://www.secondlife.com

The teachings of PL, the 21 Precepts and 21 Principles, are what help us navigate through the world we live in today… Stay in touch with what grounds you… what keeps you mentally and physically alert and positive. Life is too important to squander.
