Though we travel. . . to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
If one advances confidently in the direction of one’s dreams, and endeavors to live the life which one has imagined, one will meet with success unexpected in common hours
Henry David Thoreau
Let’s cherish the milestones of life… There are various milestones in our lives. The entrance ceremony, graduation ceremony, wedding … these important life milestones are great opportunities to change your mind, and like bamboo, people grow up at milestones.

Some doors are more inviting than others.. Photographer Ian Mitchell has been out exploring.. he’s found some interesting doors for us.
Mind you Ian, I’m not sure that these doors are what I would call welcoming, but you did find us a red door in Quebec city.
love the door and the old stone building it adorns.
You’re happy, I’m happy. Have the mindset of “good for you, good for me”. Express yourself in a way that makes others happy.

Yesterday as we drove towards our destination, we were greeted along the way with the colour changing of the leaves here in Canada where I live. When I returned and visited my e-mails, there was a message from my dear friend in Japan .. this is along her drive when she is returning home.. very different scenery from me. Took me back to when I was visiting in Japan, and how I marvelled at the landscapes, and visions that were all so new to me. I had never seen rice paddies and was totally enchanted by them when I walked into the town and saw that the land behind houses was used for growing rice, not gardens and backyards like we see here.
Her pictures reminded me of how differently other people live, depending on where they are located in the world. Yet, tho’ we live separated by miles (physical distance) our hearts and minds are in sync, and we share wonderful friendships.
My friend in Brazil sends me the most amazing pictures of the blossoms that she finds in and around her home, it can be cold and snow here and in my mail will arrive the brilliant colours of a tropical flower.. always accompanied by the wonderful sage lessons of PL. PL (Perfect Liberty) is a philosophy that is practiced all around the world, it keeps us all connected and accompanied along our spiritual paths, and in our day to day lives.
Love, caring, thoughtfulness, the joy of sharing, that is Universal, when we share in the joys of love, we take another step towards World Peace. there is no one definition for Love, it simply IS… have yourself an amazing day!
Don’t think “I can’t” from the start. Begin by taking the first step, then you’ll be able to see what comes next and a path will open.
I wore my new camera .. it can’t be worn like the older camera, this one is too big to keep on while I’m driving, so it was on and off. By the end of my adventure, I was glad to bring it in to charge and let it rest. It was heavy!!! I’ll get used to it.
Be a person who can say “I like it!” find what moves you the most and express your appreciation.

Lesson from Japan translated –Execution comes first – Even if you want to make a good work, you can’t make a work just by feeling it. It is a prerequisite to do your best in the way. Do whatever you notice immediately (realize) do it right away.
Woke up to rain today, but the birds still calling… have a great day whatever your plans…

** All along hwys 307 and 309 are lakes… lots of lakes..
top 3 pictures are from lac Lemay the park behind the Lac Lemay Casino in Hull/Gatineau Quebec
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Quebec has to be the most beautiful Province in Canada. BC is great and so is Nfld. but Quebec has this rustic charm that never fails to enchant. AND because the further inland you go in the Province, the more you experience the cultural difference, the feeling of being “elsewhere” (other than in English Canada) is front and centre. If you ever want a special experience, visit “la Belle Province” – not for the big city experience tho’, unless you visit Montreal or Quebec City, but for geographical landscapes,(nature) rivers, lakes, skiing (winter) hunting/fishing during the right seasons… it is a breath of fresh air.
Always pray “for the happiness of others and Society’ Praying only for your own wishes is not the true way we should be. Strive to do things for the sake of others, and pray for their happiness as well.
There are so many ways to meditate, it is such a personal way to re-group and reconnect with one’s own inner thoughts/feelings. I marvel at how easy it is to fall out of the “habit” of being “aware”. there was a time I schooled myself to always be aware, taking time to enjoy each step along the way of whatever day I was experiencing.
We often lean towards what is easy. The first time I was told I was “lazy” … I really was offended, “me lazy” surely this was not an accurate assessment of “me”… but if I am truly honest with myself, I have moments. my choices are not always based on “productivity”. But then, why does one need to always be productive. =^_^=
As I slowly navigate this world I am in now, I realize that my situation, my personal space, everything that had been once “normal” is now actually just “clutter” Time has passed, I am coming out of a time of “loss” and “mourning”, the world around me seems different. + It is, the younger generations have different understanding of what and where the world is today… the older travellers … have all come from different backgrounds, their life experiences are etched on their faces, the tell tale shadows of the past linger in their eyes.
When I stand still in the middle of the woodlands, in whatever weather, just stand there, not moving, just listening, my eyes looking nowhere in particular, just taking in the moment, I feel the stillness wash over me, the birds, chipmunks, squirrels, all return to their business of “being” and we all become part of NOW. That moment in time for me is a meditation, it can last seconds, minutes, there is no “clock” just that space where the tranquility of “BEing” is all there is.
Experiencing such moments, means that I can recall that “silence” “stillness” at other times, it is a place I like to be. In such times of “contentment” I realize that you are part of that moment, because you are part of me. We are all ONE with the Universe, with our unique rhythms, sometimes we are in sync, and other times we are simply ships passing in the night. Either way, you are part of my world, and like the seasons, the ebb and flow of life will keep us harmonized.

Standing still in one place, looking around… simply taking in what was around me. I do this often, usually I am in another area of the Mer Bleue Conservation forest/bog land. The other day I drove down to a dead end road where I went last year with one of my dogs, the brush and growth had completely hidden the entrance to a seldom used trail. There was no way to even know that the trail was there. I had the morning to myself, it was quiet, and I was inspired to “take action”.. I got out my pruners, put on gloves and headed into the brush. I returned yesterday to get a picture .. wish I had taken one before I began this “meditation”.. but hindsight is … you know the saying.. =^_^=.
I worked my way down the trail for about the length of half a city block. Cutting and tossing the brush to one side. There is something very satisfying about doing such a physical task. There was a light rain when I returned yesterday with my camera.. so I didn’t venture down into the bush, the leaves were still heavy with rain drops. But… I will be returning.
tended gardens are beautiful, but so are the natural community of plants that grow wild in our woodlands.
There will always be a way. If you persist and be creative without giving up, you will find solutions that you had not considered before.

Always pray to become a better person. If you are content with the status quo, your progress will stop. Always seek for ways to improve yourself and continue to move forward one step at a time.

Yesterday when I went back to the “forgotten” trail, there was an area that was blocked with huge cement blocks.. there was a place for me to walk thru so I did.. that is where I found the torn up vegetation you see above. It was a place where it looked like something had been started, a clean up of sorts and then abandoned??
