For everyone who asked, Com Quem Contar is a song from the PL songbook, originated out of Brazil, written by Ana Marie Miranda Coelho Rio… it is a song about trust, and faith. In English the title translates to Who to Trust. Thank you, glad you enjoyed it and found it uplifting. If you missed it, it was in yesterday’s post. We sing the song everywhere, it is joyful, in Brazil they even have a little dance when it is song, In Canada, we (I admit) sway and get into it when we sing it… smiles.. it is very hard to not get “into it”. We do sing it in Japan when the International groups convene.. someone will get on the piano in the grand entrance to the International headquarters… and it isn’t long before we are all gathered and singing it…. It is only a little over 3 minutes but we will sing it for longer, repeating it as we march along the roadside towards one of the gathering places…. life is joyful when shared with friends who share in they pleasure of music… Music is universal...

The door is our method of returning to the outside world and the chaos and cacophony that is forever trying to invade and influence our “Quiet “‘
The door comes in a wide variety of colours even shapes and sizes, the dictionary says it is a “a hinged, sliding, or revolving barrier at the entrance to a building, room, or vehicle, or in the framework of a cupboard.” I have seen doors that are imposing and others that are just sturdy and practical. Think about it … where would we be with a door.?

Are you alone? Deep in the forest, there is a magic that permeates the air, if you take the time, to sit quietly and allow the natural sounds of the nature around you to visit with you… the merry sound of meandering water over coloured pebbles is joyful as it slides with ease over the multi faceted rocks and gurgles joyfully as it brushes against and through the water ferns and stalks of vegetation that lines its banks.
Always there is something to discover, Know that all around you, there are eyes watching. You might not see who/what is watching, but…. your presence is not unnoticed.
Start by doing the things you notice.
It is impossible to do two things at once. Let your intuition guide you and start with what you can take on now.
Doors like people come in all shapes and sizes. Like people, some are more welcoming than others. Each one has a story to tell, and history. How willing are we to explore the possibilities?

Time appears to stand still when you come across a peaceful scene along the river. The gentle curving of the walkway meant that you slow down your pace…. your eyes follow the shoreline, birds are singing happily from somewhere off in the distance. It feels good to have the moment to yourself, The sun is high in the sky, but the surrounding trees are providing dappled shade. This walkway follows the wanderings of the Rideau River…along Riverside Drive (Ottawa)… There has been a lot of construction this summer along Bank Street, (cross street) This could be the reason, but in my exploring the other day, there were very few people enjoying the “park” ..note… the colours are starting to appear. Mother Nature has begun to weave her magic.

Sometimes you feel blue or can’t seem to find the joy in doing anything. At times like this, just get up and move your body or work your mind to the fullest extent.

I took this picture the other day…. I have been haunted by the tranquility of the place ever since and will head back there this morning. See that small white dot (bird) off on a branch … not being able to get closer with my cell… I am going back this time with my camera.. not that it will still be there, but.. let me see if I will use the camera. I recharged the battery… I hadn’t used it since 2023! maybe even longer. I am terrible ..if a piece of equipment doesn’t work the way I think it should I put it away… now I have to decide.. if I’m not going to use it.. I should pass it along. omg another decision to make!!!!

Roller skates.. .. the other day, when I went on FB to post to the PL Brazil site.. I saw what they call “reels’ and people roller skating. That took me down memory lane, I once flew into California to skate along a famous stretch of beach in California…. that was many many years ago.. at that time skating was all the rage, I got to skate where I would never have imagined, along a boardwalk, with sand /surf for a backdrop… I think from what I saw, it is back and very popular in some States…. L U C K Y !
All this to say, that was yesterday, a distant time in the scheme of things. it was a reality then .. all those years back when I thought anything was possible… I sit today and think of how much the world has changed, yet… no matter how many lives I’ve lived, places I’ve been, I am still ME. Imagine that. I look in the mirror, the face looking back at me is different, yes, the signs of having lived a full life are there.. but it is my eyes…they have changed.. they look somewhat the same.. but no.. if one really looks, there is an un readable depth.. that no matter how hard I try, I can’t penetrate.
I’ve started drawing/sketching again. I will wake up and have this need to grab a coloured marker and sketch. I don’t write, I draw…. I met a young man the other day, in way of introduction, he said, he wanted to meet and talk with me because I was an “artist”. That gave me pause, I draw/paint etc. does that make me an artist.. I didn’t feel a first meeting was a time for me to go into the philosophy of why I don’t like labels.. dear man was spared. I say PoTAYToh.. and you say PaTA..TTOE -( root vegetable commonly called a potato or spud)
