we all don’t use the term tithing, but you get the idea.. I liked what I read, and would like to share it with you.

What I am about to tell you about is probably one of the least mentioned ways to increase prosperity, abundance and even happiness in our lives.  If you truly believe that God is the source of your supply then you must do something definite and consistent to keep that rich source flowing.

We ask to be blessed with housing, clothes, money, jobs, love, health and so on for ourselves and others and we want it all for free. Do you expect your Doctor to work for free? Your mechanic, your Accountant you get the picture.  Here is a secret, tithing affects every aspect of our lives not just our money.  The key is that systematic giving opens the way for systematic receiving.

Consider that tithing is an act of faith that moves the universe. Through your acts of unselfish giving you attune your consciousness to that of universal abundance.

When all the world is quiet around you

When only the sound of nature us there to soothe you

do you hear my voice at all

seeing the roots exposed, then leading back down unto the ground

do you wonder at how that tree stands so  tall

I am, here you know

in every blade of grass,

in every branch that reaches for the sky

in every crystal grain of sand

You need only look around you, to see me

all around, and yes, that bird calling

and the chattering of the squirrels, those are all my sounds

for I am the world around you

and you my child are mine too

        now forever and always.

dedication and faith

Panoramic view of the Greek-Orthodox monasteries of Meteora

greek-orthodox monasteries of Meteora

There was a time when our desire to pray and be closer to God/Universe was seen in the physical world around us.  Many dedicated their lives to the practice of living only for that  purpose.

St Stephen's Holy Monastery

A closer look at St. Stephen’s Holy Monastery, it was not built as high as the others, (during 16th century) it was badly damaged during world war 2 by the Nazis and abandoned.  However dedicated nuns, came back and reconstructed it and are living and praying there today.

We no longer feel that we need to remove ourselves from the world around us, we know that God is everywhere and lives within us.  The majority  of us, need to live and provide for ourselves and family. It is sometimes hard to remember to make time for ourselves  Precious time where we reconnect to the Spirit within.

I understand wanting to live where i can be with others who share my dedication to serving and being of service, to attain this, one must climb a steep and rocky path.  In one of the monasteries I read about, the only access was by rope ladders and nets.  Replacement happened only when “God  let one break”

wherever you are, today is the present

you will only live it once

live it so that you will not have any regrets

 life is…..you are

no more ….. no less.

warm fuzzy moment

3f8eee0f-6deb-4a20-8982-891d574d2616

A warm embrace, another warm body lying close beside you, their warmth and gentle breathing so calming.  Oh.. so very nice.

I’ve noticed in the last many years, that a common farewell greeting ending a conversation, text especially will be to sign off with a hug.  or xxoo  I do it myself, sometimes without thinking

What does a hug imply.  To me it  implies affectionate, so a hug at the end of a text would (for me) be a way of saying “affectionately yours”

I realized this morning when ending a conversation with someone, that when that person used it when terminating our conversation, I was actually taken aback.  Me who is a user of this expression.!! Wow…

Food for thought.. This person  is rather new to my work world, and I know a much younger person.  So now I am reviewing my use of the term, and will consider carefully how and when I use it.  I think I do, but this morning’s experience has made me aware of something in my behaviour that could be easily “misconstrued”  if I am cavalier in my use of the word.  I believe that we should all do things with a prayerful mind, speak with sincerity.  Live life with makoto (sincerity), and strive to build strong friendships and good vibes with all we encounter.

We are all unique in our personalities and character, some love to cuddle up close and personal, others may not feel that comfortable being so close.  I like air climate control and the crispness of a fall day while someone else wants the warmth of the mid day sun on the hottest day before their purr engine starts.

3f440064-a9d7-4d93-bdf6-e08af052bfaa‘Friends that get to know one another, really learn to care, in that caring, they find trust, and share common bonds The the hug is really and truly a warm and fuzzy moment.   Not just a hug of passing strangers, like the European kiss on the cheek that was a custom, thing to do, and had nothing to do with warm and fuzzy.

mmmmmm I like  hugs, not that I’m a hugger, but I do like the word because it does imply a deep affection.  And so… after all of this… I say to you… I want to HUG YOU ALL.

so saying I pounce………………

my prayer

103d13599629856692b716fc8e1a4bf6

Sometimes when the road ahead seems  unsure, there is nothing to do but to pray, Trust in the Universe to guide you on what you need to do. There is a difference between closing our eyes to what should be done, and trying everything else we can do, so that we can escape the road that should and must be taken.  AND, simply not knowing how or what to do because you are overwhelmed with the present, and find you cannot make a decision.

No one is spared that inner voice that comes to us in the night, or during the day and whispers words that cause us doubt, and lead us to worry.

We have the voice of reason, and the voice of doubt, AND, yes there is an AND, we have our connection to the Universe that is the strongest of all, and the ONE that is pure and true.  It is not part of the mind, but of your heart/soul/spirit.

My prayer is that God/Universe will always see me through, not when I want it to happen, but when the time is right, I will know what to do.

bridges

sometimes I find myself standing by a bridge

not sure whether or not to cross to the other side

I wonder, should I stand and  enjoy the view from where I am

even while I hesitate, I know I want to see the other side

86a2f374-6cda-4e66-ae95-b22ecb0a9d5f

others are seen crossing bridges every day

why do I hesitate

why is it that I seem to be cast in stone

my feet not moving, my arms by my side

I appear to be still, but I’m all a muddle inside

cb919886-886c-4d50-8962-378cbc98df68

by day it does seem so inviting

and really, we can walk back if the other side is not to our liking

or can we…

having crossed over, we are looking ahead

coming back, we would once more  be starting from the other side

and the way forward, would be a totally different path

d82023b8-8865-497f-a159-3a68a4022cd7

why, because, day is day and night is night

and try as you might

we can never go back to where we started

nothing would be the same

yes it is a shame, but such is life

if you fail to live the moment, when it happens

tomorrow it will be gone

5df705f6-b23d-49ec-aa9e-783e615015b6

is it wrong to want to cross every bridge we see

when your heart is strong, and your head is clear

you will know what to do

your feet will fly like the wind

and you will meet your destiny

happily and cheerfully

bridges were built to be crossed

and we were born to live our lives

d9931e0e6e451b9573ebf462182c50b9Changes, every day we encounter a change in our lives.  It is no different with a church. the church of PL is headquartered in Japan as you all know.  In Japan the fiscal year is from April 1 – till March 31st of the following year.   Thus when changes occur, they are announced at the end of the year with the changes taking place immediately (almost).  Ministers are transferred to new communities, and this includes the churches in North American, South  America etc.

Change will occur in our church, Rev. Tiago has been transferred to the church in Los Angeles.  Rev. Atsushi Tsuji  a young minister from Japan will be coming to Canada.  What wonderful adventures for these two young men.  Rev. Tiago and his young family are not long in Canada having come here from Brazil.   He has learned to live in the extreme cold of a Canadian winter, and now will head for the dry heat of Los Angeles, California.

Rev. Tsuji will not only experience a change from his Native Japan, but he will be coming to his first assignment here in Canada,  And no, dear readers, he does not speak English, never mind French.  Fortunately he will arrive during the spring season, and will grow into his new home with the delights of a Canadian spring with the multitude of early spring flowers, tulips, crocus and the like..  In Canada, especially here in Ottawa, we have a bond with Holland, that is expressed with a magnificent show of Tulips in parks and in private gardens.

Picture below were  taken during the Ottawa tulip festival, where the tulips are planted to offer up the photographer, tourists and visitors a chance to admire and enjoy their beauty.  smiles, and of course to showcase our beautiful city.

So it is, we wish these two young men much success and adventure on this new journey in life that they are embarking on..Changes although at times a challenge, with packing, paperwork, and organizing in such a short period of time, we work through it, step by step, and when tackled with enthusiasm and sincerity (makoto) the rewards are a million fold.

For those of us who are not leaving, there will be a gap, a new personality will enter the community, and we will all have to adjust.  Again, it is how we will meet this new opportunity that will determine our temporary disruption to “daily living” God/Universe is always going to ensure that we grow in spirit28601a77418f0fdc87a3750dc7a02245changes are what make us better people.

easter IslandI remember being totally fascinated and captivated by the story of Easter Island.  I was lost in the mystery of it all.  I dreamed of travelling there to see the giants for myself.  I never did, instead as i made my way in life, I found that my life itself was full of mysteries , my own wonders at the complexities in life, How I could love so much and enjoy so much yet seem to always be “odd person out”

Even when I hurt, or feeling sad and down, they were feelings that I seemed to revel in, I basked in the emotions that engulfed me and  examined how they made me feel and  how I got there. They were lessons,  I went through the heartbreak of wanting so much for someone to care, and not recognizing that a relationship is based on BOTH parties being of the same mind.

It takes living the experience to learn the value of the lesson taught.  I have been blessed with many lessons in life. Each lesson has made me a much stronger and independent woman.  It is in paying attention to each and every moment of our lives that we grow, that we blossom, unfold and mature into the person we become.  In a lifetime, we continue to experience the many changes and lessons until it is time for us to quietly transition to another state of BEING.

Great pyramid of Giza, Egypt

When we truly appreciate all that we have lived, and what IS, Then and only then will we find true happiness.  Give thanks every day for the wonders in life that have blessed you during your lifetime.  To every negative there is a positive. Kindness and love for another are gifts to be treasured.  I give thanks for each and everyone of you, you are so very appreciated.
