Hello? is it me you’re looking for?

Fried Calamari as served up in Sausalito California at the Trident Restaurant.  The restaurant has been revived, anyone remember it from the 70’s when it was all about live entertainment and psychedelic ceilings.  (Photo John Storey, The  Chronicle).  It is only in the recent years that I’ve developed a fondness for well cooked and presented  calamari.  The dogs and I have an agreement, I eat the calamari,  they get to sample the batter. Works.  Husband is happy not to be included in our feast, same applies if we are going to have shrimps,,??? So be it… more for us.

It is only when I went online to look for a picture of the breaded calamari that I discovered that t his is a food eaten and enjoyed by many, there were pasta dishes, and several mouth-watering and tempting dishes with a mediterranean  flavour.  Myself, I seem to like the taste, plain, with little seasoning, same with shrimps.  Shrimps I like the big fat juicy ones, and the scallops don’t bother unless they are about the size of  toonie (a Canadian 2 dollar coin) after they are cooked. I’m also happy to just sit and eat one item till I’ve had my fill.  Next meal I will gorge on a green veggie or a variety of vegetables.

Yay I’ve finally broken from what others what me to do, to doing what I want to do, I do it happily and joyfully and  with plenty of enthusiasm.

This is the song playing in my head…   I want to share it with you because, just because…. =^_^=  I so appreciate that you take the time to share these few minute with me when I post.

Life is to be lived dear friends… let’s travel together… Have a day that is filled with all the  richness in life that you so deserve.

Till next time…            Namaste – Oyashikiri

A turtle day

a5af37145413a2c598e3eb044df0540fTo the Chinese and other Asian cultures, the turtle is a symbol of longevity.  My Mother had a collection of turtles,  I remember he coming home from her travels abroad with another turtle for her charm bracelet or for the collection that was growing in leaps and bounds in the curio cabinet.  When the turtle comes to mind for me is when I am having what I call a “Turtle Day:”…   Usually a mental health day, a day where I know I want to retreat into my “make believe” shell and just sleep or day dream.

Today is the 21st of the month, the day that in PL (Perfect Liberty) we gather to show our appreciation , saying Thank you, for all that we have experienced in the previous days and weeks.  We pray for guidance and renew our dedication to live with full Makoto (sincerity)  following the practices and instructions as laid out in Perfect Liberty.  Just as we must eat and sleep regularly to refresh our bodies, so too must we  pray and give thanks to God on a regular basis and say Thank you for the blessings of life.

Whatever is meant to be, will be.  The results may not be what we expected or even wanted, but we are open to what life brings our way, we will be truly blessed.  Feelings of appreciation become real when you express them and mean them.

whining and complaining

photo 5 (5)

There are days when this could be me.  My busy mind chattering and chattering about dear knows what.  I don’t think I whine and complain, but that is because I don’t want to believe that I am just as guilty as the next person at having a negative day.  All my life I have known that no two people will see the mountain view the same way, even though they are looking from the same vantage point.

An exercise that we practice in PL (Perfect Liberty) is to work at accepting the differences in life and to respect the difference in others.

I fell short today, I disagreed with a sentiment sent to me by a caring sister.  I vented.  yet on reflection, she was only giving voice to her perspective and in doing so, used the language and comfort terms of her personal beliefs.  I want respect for my beliefs I in turn need to respect hers, and allow her, her form of expression. The bottom line is she cares.  That I appreciate.

PL Principle 21 – I will not have complaints about others, matters, nor the weather  Rather I will always be creative and will look for shortcomings in my own thinking and actions.

My thanks to Little Sister (Wei) who is traveling in Mexico right now, these are her pictures.

I will be visiting NY State tomorrow.  See you all on my return.  have a great start to the new week.

Expressions

This is a vintage print that appeared in a mailing I received, I wish I could credit the artist, but I can’t.   Art is very subjective, what appeals to me, may not be your cup of tea.  For me the moment I saw this print, I was mesmerized.  The colours, the position of the model, the bird cage, the total image evoked a sense of longing in me. Certainly not in a negative way, just a feeling, a passion that set me to wanting to create prose, or write a poem.  I’m sure that at one time or another, such moments have happened to you.   What do we do with these inspirations, these “ah Ha” light bulb moments.. do we act on them, or does the moment pass and we move on.

PL Precept # 3 – God appears through one’s self……..

In PL (Perfect Liberty) we believe that the Universe is always guiding and directing us,  It is we who fail to listen or hear…when something happens out of the blue, or suddenly we find ourselves faced with a challenge we are not prepared for.  In Pl we see that as an act or happening created by the Universe to get our attention. We are taught to take stock, pay attention, open our minds to possibilities, to focus and seek resolution.

PL Precept # 7 – Everything exists in Relativity….

When I saw the above print, it started a thought process, that began with the emotions I felt when I saw the print, and then the various stages of evolution the initial thought produced in my mind’s data base.  More than 12 hours later I still wanted to share the print with you.  Perhaps it will inspire a thought process in you?

For me… it had me looking for a gaudy ring full of bling…….  go figure……..hey…………….. what is… is, I  share with you all of me, imperfections included.!

The PL 21 Precepts reveal the true path of life for all humankind.  Beginning with Precept #1, Life is Art…. as the foundation.  There are 20 more precepts that stem from it and are closely interrelated with one another.  Each Precept is written in simple and clear language, but the truth revealed in their words applies Universally to ALL….

Thank you to all of you who read and follow me on my journey.  You are my inspiration.

Feelings -Thanksgiving

What comes to  mind when you think of Thanksgiving……….

Is it the joy you take in gathering supplies to make colorful decorations that will please the the eye and delight the senses?  Small gifts for friends, or just to brighten your home.

As the color titillates our awakening senses, we are open to new adventures   Where ever we are when the leaves start to change, we feel it in the air.  Our appreciation of life is aroused and we find ourselves more open to changes, in fact, our creative juices start to bubble with ideas that want expression.

This picture evokes the desire to explore, to walk down this sun filled path, to smell the autumn leaves as they progress through their cycle of change.  You know that the photographer who took this picture, felt the sun and heard the birds and wildlife that surround her/him. They managed to capture the moment beautifully.  If you listen closely you’ll hear the rustle of the leaves as a gentle breeze makes its way through the spectrum of fall colored foliage.

Life is to be enjoyed,  Thanksgiving is a time to express and give thanks for the bounty we receive in life, In Perfect Liberty, (PL) we give thanks each month for the many blessings in our lives.  We do so on the 21 st . of each month.

Faith grows not only through intellectual understanding but also through actively participating in life, the PL WAY.

Thank you all for your wonderful messages of love and friendship… I was overwhelmed when I got back at the birthday greetings and kind words. The road weariness evaporated  under a blanket of amazing heartfelt gratitude.  Many of you I have only met and interacted via social media and the virtual world, I really truly love and appreciate each and every one of you.

It was a wonderful birthday journey, filled with sunshine and balmy weather.  We got to explore, visit and rest, my husband once again shone with his thoughtfulness at ensuring that everything went well and that we were safe at all times.  To my fellow vintage buffs, this was the find of all finds, 100% silk, pure vintage, with beads that appear to be all hand sewn   ..=^_^=

Thank you again for taking time to share this special time with me.

The gift of sharing

IMG_0550

Downtown is a busy place.  At this time of year the boaters arrive to tour the capital.  From my vantage point on the bridge I’m spending a few lazy moments watching the world drift by.  Behind me is a huge shopping mecca for tourists and locals alike. And across the street from the shopping center is a quaint marketplace where the trendy come to shop and sit in outdoor cafes.  Tourists enjoy the Designer shops, and the Farmers Market all blended in one big “Happening” environment.

Ottawa is laid out like a patchwork quilt, with different sections of the city offering it’s own style and colour. Chinatown, Little Italy, Westboro, The Glebe, each has it’s very own flavour to tempt and delight the visitors eager for an authentic adventure.

Friendships are like our own version of a quilt.  I’ve learned to appreciate each and every friend in my life for the gifts they bring to my “world”.  In a recent conversation, a friend I’ve not seen in some time, was asking me about another friend who I probably have not seen in a couple of years.  I was talking about the special qualities and the love I have for the person when my friend interrupted and exclaimed,”but you aren’t currently in touch!  And that was years ago?”

Hmmm I found that an interesting reaction,  if I love someone today, I will love them tomorrow, love is an opening of one’s heart to another, and involves genuine caring.  If that person, leaves or moves along a different path, or for whatever reason, there is a parting.  Love does not cease and become past tense.  Friendships that are genuine and true, last a life time.  Sharing love, caring, & affection is not a commodity, it is a gift and should always be freely given.  Not for what you want in return, but because you truly care, unconditionally.

a tranquil & meditative attitude

Life is never without changes

Some transitions are smoother than other.  When attempting to sort through the many potentials and possibilities, often more problems surface. There is a Chinese text (Tao) that speaks on how the benefits of a slow developing engagement usually produces a much more stable and satisfying union.  Same applies in Business relationships,  success comes if one holds firm to inner visions while adapting to established business policies.

Wise words spoken by a sage:  Refrain from hasty or passionate  action – lean instead towards the romantic cultivation of love.

Sometimes it is important to realize that we are in a slow, organic unfolding of events – there are no shortcut in the journey ahead.

life and aging –

We have life today because of the ancestors that came before us.  Utilize the Makoto )sincerity left by your ancestors to live today to the fullest.

Haga valer en el presente el Makoto de sus antepasados.  (Spanish)

O hoje existe gracas aos antepassados. (Portuguese)

Love translates into any language, it is easy to forget as we ourselves age, that our elders have lived and experienced the same joys and sorrows over their lifetime. Try not to squander your days and nights on actions or non actions that you may at a later time come to regret.

Never forget to express love and appreciation to those in your life that matter.

Chinese Moon Gates, symbolize gateways, passage ways to a mystical “beyond”… their architecture in gardens had them so one could see the full moon, and enjoy the vista beyond.  Some day we will all cross over the threshold of today, and when we do we will be ancestors to those we have left behind.

By increasing the feeling of appreciation to your ancestors, your life will be more enriched.

And remember to do your best to smile, sharing a cheerful smile and expression makes everyone around you happy.

Realize tudo com um sorriso!

Irradie su entorno con sonrissas y expresiones alegres.

Asking for your help please

Good Morning everyone I’m going to try to share my post from this morning on another of my blogs with you.  I would like your help in praying for World Peace.

http://dymoon.blogspot.com/

August 1 is a very important date in the PL church.  We come together to celebrate Founders’ Day “Kyososai”.  this is a day where we express our most sincere appreciation to Oshieoya and the First and Second Founders who are still working spiritually for the rapid realization of true World Peace. Also on August 1, a special ceremony is held where we honour all of those who lost their lives in wars, regardless of race, religion or nationality.  In this ceremony we console their spirits and pray for the everlasting peace of humankind. In North American, service will be at  7 pm – please take a few moments to join with us in silent prayer.  If you are near a church you are welcome to join us in person.  the blog above will give you co-ordinates. Share this blog with friends, we need as much support as we can get. We all want to see a better world, where people co-exist  in peace. – To achieve World Peace, it begins with each and every one of us doing our part. 518be33a98b982800ebb1c8e6306ba53

It can be done, we can do it.  We will do it.
