a new week

What is this?p1000437

A picture gone rogue. Even with the best intentions, there are times, even when we do everything “supposedly” right… We don’t get what we were expecting.  Happens.

Do we worry, stress about it.. Of course not, we simply either do it again, or move on to something else.

p1000319

That works when we are dealing with objects.  When we are dealing with another person, or plural, people,  redoing something isn’t always easy peasy.  In PL, Perfect Liberty, we see each new day, as a new canvas.  the possibilities are endless.

I enjoy a good moan and groan, just like anyone else, but it is a moment in time, I move on.  that is the beauty of  Living in Perfect Liberty (Precept #21)  We are given the tools, to help us maneuver the  challenges we face on a day-to-day basis.

Perfect Liberty is unique in its way of offering personal guidance to members.  We are all so different, with our own personalities and characteristics.  Through consultations given by PL ministers members receive personal guidance tailored to their individual situations.

I already know that I plan on a wonderful new week.  Each night is about having a good sleep so that I can begin my new “adventure”

Smiles and waves, how you doing today? how has it been so far? Had your morning brew yet?  Blessings… have a super grand day, doing whatever it is you need or want to do.

Chop Suey Thursday

photo-4-2Finally the colour is appearing along the fence and in our backyard.  On my way to Orleans this afternoon, I was again delighted by the colour the lined the highway.  This time I was taking another way in,  I was driving by farmland, fruit stands, and even a golf course.  So I enjoyed the contrast of colour against the manicured shades of green on the course itself.

img_0065Norm (Thursday Doors) I did wonder, if this could be considered a  “kind of” door.  After all it does symbolize the ending of life here on earth, and the journey to another “dimension”.   After a brief dialogue with myself .. I passed on the idea… but I did like the picture.

I like discovering old resting places… some are a tad sad due to neglect… but if you see beyond the disrepair .. you discover wonderful works of art, and interesting sentiments  Mother Nature has a way of adding her own decorative etchings and colouring on the tombstones.

photo-4-3You all know how much I love the play of light and shadows, in the fall, the darkness deepens, and I can lose myself in the depth of imagination and vegetation that has started to decay.  Life is beautiful in all stages.

ce00249d8878b494394bf12392d36775I have no idea, where this is, or how this picture found its way into the folder I was viewing..  but.. hey it is a door and by jove, it is Thursday

Tomorrow, I am having my second eye done.. (how many does she have you ask.. even I wonder at times).. so I will “see” you when I “see” you.

Have good days, peaceful nights, and I won’t say be good, I’ll say… live each moment, put your whole heart into it, and you will never have regrets.

Chop suey Tuesday- impressions

p1000339

First Impressions – we all have them, when we see something, we take it in and in seconds, we have an impression

p1000340

No matter the impression, I find myself looking at the details, and the story the building tells me.

p1000344

Sometimes, the impression is one that is a statement, and I “know” it is not a place that I want to visit or know too much about it.  It  has a facade that clearly says…”I’m here, don’t mess with me”

p1000353This oldie sat off the road, I had to get out and take a closer look, this is the back of the house.  We tried to find out more about the house, it was for sale, we took the details, unfortunately, the seller, didn’t have a web site, and we were out of State by the time we were where we could look further into it.  I’ve not forgotten, and given the time hope that we will discover more about the house, and the selling price.

p1000346What is the fascination, don’t really know… we are on the look out for a property in the States that we can easily get to, and tour from there.  Maybe it is just a dream, its nice to be able to travel into the possibilities.  Life is busy, it is nice to have a place to drift too

p1000333my travels take me to a lot of places, I thrill on them all.  Each tells a story, each one is unique.  I feel like that about people too.  It is not what someone else tells me, it is what I “see” for myself.

The past may play a part in what a person, or place is “today”… however, we live in the now, and it is what you see and feel NOW that counts.

PL Principle #2   I will not have complaints about others, matters nor the weather.  Rather I will always be creative and look for shortcomings in my own thinking and actions.

PL Principle #6  I will not be stubborn, being captured by my own thoughts.

PL Precept # 6 Efface your self conceptions.

What impression will you make on the world today?

sometimes in dreams

p1000360

To achieve a quiet heart, so that we can live in greater harmony with the world around us, takes an effort.  In life, when we are balanced, grounded, we are capable of better decisions, and more effective results to our actions.

If we are active, when we should be at rest, then when it is time to act, we are often ill prepared.  We can miss opportunities that had we been rested and ready, would have been easy to deal with.

For the last many days I have been living with a sinus infection.  Ok it is not the end of the world, however, when the symptoms gang up on me, I really do find myself leaning towards,a complaining mind. (that is not the right way/direction to go)

Like a hamster in a cage, running, running on my wheel, running and getting nowhere.  After chasing around looking for a clinic that was open today, I finally gave up and came home.  I will take the time to reflect on just why this physical annoyance is giving me grief.

It is said, that the “superior” person, first achieves quiet heart, and then acts.   Hmmmmp I have some serious winding down to do, 1st step, when my body says rest, I need to listen.

Tea on the Market

p1000307

Looking for a place that is welcoming and well stocked with tea.. You have come to the right place if you have discovered the TeaStore@ 53 York Street in the Byward market right in the heart of the city, minutes away from Parliament Hill, and the Rideau Shopping Center.  These two ladies are regulars, they bike down on week-ends to enjoy a visit and their favourite tea and baked goodie.  During the summer they are able to add the delicious fresh fruit that is abundant in the market stalls nearby.  In winter they soak up the warmth inside of the shop, where they get to sit in a sunny area, either at tables or if lucky to get it the small red sofa.  Cosy as all get out..!

p1000301

The shop is now owned by Joshua Savoie, who obviously has done a great job in maintaining the welcoming ambiance of the shop, he is gaining new “regulars” week-days and week-ends. The young hostess that was there when I visited Saturday was very knowledgeable about the teas, and products sold in the shop.  Had I had more time, I would have welcomed a lazy visit watching the activities from outside at one of the tables or inside at the big bright window.  Perched at the window table =^_^=

p1000305

Ahhhh and what was I doing there… this charming shop, *teastore* has started to sell the cards I make for the Perfect Liberty, Funky Monkey Boutique.  As you know the FMB has a sale only 2, 3 times a year,  The cards are available all year, however we are at 1010 Hunt Club (near Airport Parkway)… so that is going west on Hunt Club if you are at Bank, you turn right to go towards Airport Parkway, Riverside etc.

Remember that October 15th. we are having our fall, Funky Monkey Boutique sale, 9 a.m. 1 pm.  After that it will be after church on the 21st. and by appointment. We have a lot of Diva jewelry, brand name purses, Xmas village what nots, funky bits and pieces for your Halloween outfits….some crafty items.  I will have a few of the scrapbooking/card making extras there, you never know what you will find.

Don’t be disappointed, come early, there is only so much room in the FMB.  What is that expression “the early bird gets the worm”…

p1000302

Look at all the teas, this is just a portion of the tea being offered at the * teastore*, you can follow them on facebook and twitter, their web address is   http://www.teastore.ca

Everyone loves a good cuppa tea, there is so much to explore and see on the market. and the new updated Rideau Center..  Shake the shoppers and the big price tags, wander over to the  * teastore * 53 York Street, (next door to Lapointe’s)  enjoy the brew and the view.

Everyday is a new beginning

things

IMG_20150902_171344288

What is it that attracts us to something, in this case, was it the bird emerging from the tall grass, perhaps it was the grass itself, wait, could it be the unknown at the bottom of the picture, lying in wait to be discovered.  who knows what it is that draws us to an area, an object, or a landscape.  I have a house full of “things” that have found their way home with me.  Some I just had to have, and they fit perfectly where I thought I wanted them…………………….. and then……………………they were forgotten.

IMG_1864

Meet Chester, he is not a thing, he is a dog I met in the park.  Rather taken with him, he was so like my Canaille (Porti).. I sat down and had a good chin wag with him.  I enjoyed my conversation with him immensely, he nodded at the right times, acknowledged my banter… it was a fun meeting… and then we each went about our business.  I did take his picture though, so i could remember my visit with him.

garden geisha

This geisha is in our garden, bet you can’t find her, unless you just really wander all the grounds and look under bushes and overgrown vines.  You can see when she got home with me, she was given a place from where she could view and be viewed.  Time moves along, our moments change, our lives keep moving forward and the “things” we so “wanted”, “enjoyed” their moments passed too.  If they were left outside, nature welcomed them into its fold. If inside, they were likely soon coated in a mantle of dust and neglect.  Or see, when daily chores were being done, but no longer recognized as a “treasure”

PL Precept # 16  All things progress and develop

PL Precept #18   Each Moment is a turning point

I now try harder every day, to simplify my life.  I’m rediscovering treasures, and letting them go. I enjoyed and lived my “happy”, when we live in the moment, that is what life is like…. we live each moment, treasuring what we find, there is a saying, for each moment you spend being sad, you are missing a moment of “happy” that might not be it, word for word, but you get the idea,

Have a sun filled day!

This is the Peace Tower, for those who have never been, there is a tour, from the higher levels, you can see magnificent views of the landscapes below.

Reverend Eisuke Inagaki will be there on the 30th and 31st, to do Spanish translation for the Spanish-speaking members,  If you are looking for me, it is best to ask him, he will know my schedule, He speaks Japanese, Spanish, and is learning English .=^_^=

The Church of Perfect Liberty is all about world peace.  We pray for World Peace, we sing songs for World Peace, most of all, we do our best to live our lives to reflect a life of Perfect Liberty.  World Peace begins with us. The title of this post  Viaje comigo is the first line of a song we sing in Portuguese written by Joerge da Paixai and Tereza Onaga, the song is Trem da Esperance.  The Train of Hope.

this is the English translation.

Let’s travel together

on the train of high hope.

Sit here beside me

On the seat of Love

Let’s travel together

On the train of high hope

At each station stop

we’ll leave a bright flower

Please join with me

on the journey of life

We’ll carry messages of

peace and of love

We’ll finally arrive

at the place of World Peace;

The engine driver is

Oshieoya-sama

It is mean to be sung in Portuguese, the music harmonizes with the words, but the English translation is beside the Portuguese so we know what we are joyfully singing.  The message is clear, live with love in your hearts..  share the love.  let us all be ONE.

the look of innocence ?

if you are a pet owner

you may chuckle at the reminder of your pet’s look of total innocence

on occasions when you know

that they were responsible for the surprise

you found on your return to the homestead

enhanced-buzz-18358-1383303680-1

the reality, they live their moments,

they don’t plan them,

they just get right into the moment and enjoy it

they are totally baffled by our reactions

to what they probably don’t even remember doing

a child will react to a moment, they will do so, without even thinking about it

either hide or pose, but whatever they do

they do with presence.  they haven’t learned the adult behavior

of avoiding a response, or colouring it.

musing 7.2.16

I’d like to use the photos found on social media today, some I’ve used before, to tell a story.(musing)

There simply beautiful, amazing plants in the Universe, depending on what part of the world you live, or visit, some of them will be front and center for you to enjoy and delight over. Each plant has something unique to them, and appear the way they do, often for survival purposes.

Amazon-Water-Lily

Example, the Amazon water-lily, it can grow to over 2 metres in diameter,  that is, about 9 something feet.  I am not likely to see one in my travels, while I am wandering the parks and countryside in my Canadian  backyard. To deter rainforest animals from eating therm, they have rows of sharp spines on the underside of the leaves.

Strangler-Fig

This picture, is of a strangler fig, where many epiphytes avoid harming the plant on which they grow, the strangler fig  eventually kills its host tree.  It starts out as a little bitty thing, that looks so cute growing among the branches of its host tree, but as it grows, its roots thread their way down into the soil, and its stems keep wrapping around the host tree. It grows stronger with the passing of time, capturing more and more sunlight as it expands and grows till eventually the host tree dies.

That said, the strangler fig is important to the rainforest ecosystem, its fruit is a mainstay diet for many of the animals that live in the rainforest.

I used to talk about this plant during my days in “health care” – regarding stress..  Stress is often seen only as a negative, but in fact it is and can be very positive.  It is all in how we perceive the challenges that come our way.  The obstacle that is blocking out the sunshine making it harder for us to enjoy the sun, is often just like us in the sense that it had to grow big and tall to survive as long as it has.  It had the sunshine, and the rain.  Now you come along, your choice is to give up and live in the dark, or to embrace and enjoy the company of the host you landed on.  In sharing you grow and are supported in your efforts, you get to see that the when you reach for the sun, and let your roots slide down further into the forest floor, you become more stabilized.

living bridge

This is a picture of the resourcefulness of the people living in India, they built a living bridge from the strangler fig trees, the bridge is alive and always growing stronger.

41745656a6d60f81cb8c76158f2a83f3

This tree standing in the Nanning Park in Guangxi China, is  what started this train of thought.  The host tree is long gone. so today admirers see only this lattice tree.  When we look at another human being, we see only what is on the outside.  We see where they are at that moment, in that space and time.

Some of us are like the Amazon Water-Lily beautiful to look at, pretty as a picture, but.. under the exterior of  “who we project” is someone very different.  There are so many layers to us, it is a patient partner who will lovingly and tenderly peel away each layer.  This applies to any and every one.  Because a “man” appears strong, and unapproachable, means zip, everyone has a heart, has feelings, feels sadness, and wants love.

When something is impossible it is because we don’t want it badly enough.  Or what we think we want, is not really what is best for us, and Nature steps in, and helps reshape and redirect  every day is a new adventure and a new discovery.
