Today I would like to thank the Nature Ripe Farms in BC for the delicious fat plump blueberries I had for breakfast.  I started out rinsing them, and was only going to have a couple, but some how the hand at the end of my arm, kept popping them into my mouth. What a mouth-watering treat. The now almost empty container sports the Canadian flag..  Pl Principle # 8 says “I will not have a mind to be greedy”  hmmmmm I see I will have to practice more restraint around the little beauties.

In the summer, when fresh produce is in abundance, I find blueberries and other fresh products I like, hard to resist.  I will go most fall, winter and spring, and not give a blueberry a glance, but when these big fat round ones appear. I succumb to the bliss of a melting blueberry on the tongue as  I savour the moments of pleasure they give me.

PL Principle # 3 – Appreciation – I will live with a mind of appreciation towards others and things.

Visit a link  naturipefarms.com to read about the goodness of the blueberry.

This is a saying that I think should be posted on billboards all over the place. Speaks for itself. Networking is not kindness. It is important in today’s world, for connecting, sharing ideas, and it is super effective, I am a believer of networking.  But, there is a difference between networking and kindness.

Although I would like to say that life is rolling along, at its usual pace, it hasn’t.  Since my decision to follow through and go to Japan for Kyososai * it has been a merry ride of excitement and new discoveries.  Who knew, that one seemingly every day decision to return to Japan, could spur such initiative, and possibilities!  Not I.  But in PL, it isn’t unusual, and I should be used to it by now, but, I’m not, I ever cease to be amazed at how far-reaching goodwill, friendships, and kindness can reach.  What is coming home to me is that miles do not separate kindred spirits, true connections are universal and heartfelt.

PL Precepts # 11   Always be with God

The teachings of Perfect Liberty unite us where-ever we are.

PL Precept # 10 Love yourself and Others

In PL, we learn to appreciate and be thankful for all that happens in our lives.  There are no failures, there are opportunities to grow and learn.  If one path is not open to us, it is because, we have to redirect our energy and find another way to reach our objective.  In TAO, we say, …… the only constant in life is change …….

When a company, church, group or individual, refuses to look at and accept that changes are sometimes necessary to progress and unite, there is disharmony,  Life can become stagnant.  When we open our hearts and embrace and appreciate the world arround us, we recognize that the unique differences  or really sometimes our own perceptions.

PL Principle # 3   I will live with a mind of appreciation towards others and things.

  • Kyososai: is a special celebration . It is celebrated annually on August 1 with a ceremony at all churches in the world.  Kyososai (PL Founders’ Day) in Japan, is HUGE, people come in the 1000s for the celebrations there, it is very famous for “the Art of Fireworks”
  • Musubi – Oneness, togetherness with Others.

the funny was sent to me by a friend, I found the picture adorable, and my oddball sense of humour, laughed at the caption. =^_^=

When the Lakota leader Sitting Bull was asked by a white reporter why his people loved and respected him, Sitting Bull replied by asking if it was not true that among white people a man is respected because he has many horses, many houses? When the reporter replied that was indeed true, Sitting Bull then said that his people respected him because he kept nothing for himself.” –Joseph Bruchac – Photograph: Orlando Scott GoffGoodSitting Bull, Lakota leader

Good morning everyone, I found this in my research today.  It was posted 4 years ago on the Parabola (The Search for Meaning) site on tumblr.

How well said, and so simply .. it brings us back once more to the individuality of each of us, and how our cultures shape our thinking.

However that said, we are not back living in a time when the differences were not known, researched, studied, and documented.  This is 2016 an electronic age, we can sit in our homes and watch documented reports of what is going on around us.  There are thousands of published reports, books, magazines, videos and spoken story books.  There is no reason for us to not know about our neighbours.

“Before our white brothers arrived to make us civilized men, we didn’t have any kind of prison.
Because of this, we had no delinquents.
Without a prison, there can be no delinquents.
We had no locks nor keys and therefore among us there were no thieves.
When someone was so poor that he couldn’t afford a horse, a tent or a blanket, he would, in that case, receive it all as a gift.
We were too uncivilized to give great importance to private property.
We didn’t know any kind of money and consequently, the value of a human being was not determined by his wealth.
We had no written laws laid down, no lawyers, no politicians, therefore we were not able to cheat and swindle one another.
We were really in bad shape before the white men arrived and I don’t know how to explain how we were able to manage without these fundamental things that (so they tell us) are so necessary for a civilized society.”

This also was found on tumblr,in a post, Desert Dreamer, from Cape Town, South Africa

Just some food for thought to go along with your coffee.  I find it extremely interesting and thought provoking that no matter who we are, or what our backgrounds are, we ALL strive for peace  and want it in our lives.

once upon  a time

sentiments were cute

even whimsical

once upon a time, we even took pride

in making our own cards

or personally making something

and hand delivering our  little token of friendship

to our friend(s) in person.6a310f4f0a325340d43baac0918962ff

there was a time

when the anticipation of simply having time alone

with someone dear that we cared for

was enough to set our hearts to smiling

we whiled away the time thinking of

when we could sit side by side

and simply look into each other’s eyes.

hello today, this was yesterday

I wish it wasn’t that  way

we have let a lot of decay, work its way, into our  day-to-day

what was, simply is no more

many of us, want to work on our own,

somehow, people seem to have lost that connection

or part of community, that has us working as a group

a team, that works together for the common good

do any of you, know what the last picture is all about?

Playing outside was always fun

there was no need for  extra spending

people used what was on hand, and it worked just fine

OK yes, time moves on, this is a different time

but, people are people,

we still need to connect on a simpler plane

friendships, are formed when we get to know

our neighbours, and the people we meet along the way

not just to nod and say hello

but to say ..hey, how are you…. and genuinely care

about what they answer .

We need not wait till February to say, “you are very special”

with December just around the corner

I hope the coming season will be one without borders

where thoughts won’t be on gifts

but rather reaching out and staying in touch

with the people who have passed through

our lives… and in their own way

left a memory that doesn’t fade away7ddd16a197400477a609f5cedcbac32c

are gifts from the heart

new 50's club_005    new 50's club_002

Seems we missed a great time in history., I meet many interesting people in my day to day, many seniors, white hair, gray some stooped, some very active who have kept the same colour for years..so are still brunettes, blondeds, etc… there eyes light up and sparkle when they speak of “the days when”  Some of you, may or may not venture into the many virtual worlds that are now popping up all over, you can access them through FaceBook, either read about them or see pictures friends have posted.

Casablanca 9.9.15_007    Casablanca 9.9.15_009

Last night I had the opportunity of visiting a virtual club where a very good friend entertains on Wednesday evening with recorded music.  She grew up with the big band sounds, and she was playing them last night, what a turn out the club had. DJ Yume as she is called in the virtual world,  in the physical world is a modern-day diva, she works, lives and is active in her community, but volunteers some nights to entertain the virtual community.  For two hours she plays non stop tunes of the various eras she has programmed for the evening’s    entertainment. The guests all come dressed in costume to enjoy the party.

Who are these guests, having now spent many many years on virtual platforms, I know many are shut ins, or care givers, people who for one reason or another cannot get out to “kick up their heels”.. they are stay at home moms/dads, young men and woman who due to circumstances find themselves tied to the house, their contact and way of meeting others who share their need for social interaction.  People like DJ Yume, Tango and Peggy the owners of the club, they work very hard to provide the space, and the talent, so that others can enjoy.

Where in the physical world, they can feel invisible… on the virtual platform, they can be anyone they want to be.  Keep in mind that the number 1 rule in virtual worlds… is that kindness is key.. behind every avatar, there is a human being sitting at a computer.  We gather, we play, we chat and have fun… yes.. genuine heart-felt laughter.. there are no distractions, we talk across the miles… we are not invisible.

Lady in red, is Kyra Wyldfire and the builder of the new 50’s club you see in the first pictures.  She also owns and operates her own  blues club on the InworldZ platform (Rocking the Blues).  It sits on a beautiful sim, of bayou country   Kyra built the 50’s club on the Canadian grid, The Great Canadian Grid.    A very talented woman, a survivor, she manages her day-to-day life, her family and still makes time to come in to share with friends who love and care for her on the virtual platforms.

We are no invisible, we are real.

lion,tiger and bear,sanctuary in Georgia

These animals became best buds.  A lion a bear and a tiger, they live in harmony and share a special friendship.  Found on today.com, they are in a sanctuary in Georgia.  If they can do it, why do we  humans have such a hard time of accepting differences (appearances) in others??

Hmm is he/she having a bad day?  We all have them, each and every one of us. No exceptions. Just remember, the moment passes, it always does!

fbbe0f2d1be6f99e2889eb805e0ea86bWhen  push comes to shove,  there is usually always someone to help out.  We might not always be around to see it, but acts of kindness happen every day.  They simply are not what we hear about, except during the holiday season.  Why is that?

This fellow seems to be as one viewer commented, hailing a cab, I think he’s giving us the high 5!  Although I don’t think I want to  tickle his tummy, I do appreciate his beauty.  He looks well groomed don’t you think?  He’d give a mean bear hug.

These black bear cubs were wrestling in the cottonwood tree when they got sleepy and fell asleep in the middle of their play.  Did you go ” awwww’ and want to join in on the hug…?  Life is beautiful,  Life is full of caring and wonderful moments of simply ” BE”ing. Try it you may like it =^_^=

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, it is always such a wonderful experience to view life through the lenses of a camera. It is when I get home and actually see the “capture” that I am blown away by the moment shared in the cycle of the plant’s life.

kindness

I reach out to lend a helping hand, the stranger looks at me and I feel the inner battle that shows in her tear filled eyes.  The woman had fallen, somehow she had missed the step up to the sidewalk and lay hurting on the ground.  I stopped my car and ran over to where she now sat rubbing her ankle.  I could see the indecision, she was hurting, but I was a stranger and her first reaction and words were ..” no-no thank you, I am fine”  My background is health care, I took in her now swelling ankle area, the tear-stained face, her headscarf had fallen askew with the fall, she was elderly, I could not leave her on the road.  I heard my therapist to client/patient voice speaking, it was instinct and years of experience talking.  My voice and actions knowing where  gently to lift and help her stand were automatic.  Something inside her responded to the  experience in my voice and movements.  Once standing, she was able to lean on me to get off the street corner an up onto the sidewalk.

While this was happening, another car pulled up, with a lady driver in similar dress attire as the lady I was helping.  She too stopped her car and got out.  The relief at seeing someone from her own community flooded the lady’s face.  The other woman was  able to speak her language.  I explained what happened, the newcomer thanked me, and took over, helping the woman into her car.  I got back in my car and drove home.  Yes I am one of these people who some call a “do good- er”   if I can help, I offer.  I make time.  The learning curve for me is that not everyone wants my help. That is very humbling.

peony -flickr

A Peony is a beautiful flower, when I had them in the garden, I would “lust” after them, waiting for the flower to open and bloom and then stand close, drinking in their fragrance.  At first I was hungry to bring the beauty inside, so that the room would be permeated with the scent.  When I realized that no matter how carefully you examined them, often you brought in the ants too..  I decided that leaving them in their own environment would be better. =^_^=   Sometimes what we want, and what is best, are not the same.  This saying is worth sharing with you again.

We have a neighbour who is in his mid 90’s he still goes out, cuts the lawn, he sits down in lotus fashion to plant and weed, he walks without a cane, goes up and down his steps, he really is truly amazing in what he accomplishes. (he travels and works at his own pace, but he gets it done)  We know he does these things because we are right next door and see him out and about.  Someone passing the other day, rushed to help him when they saw him trying to fix his lawnmower, his voice, old and worn came through loud and clear, “no thank you, I’m fine”

bonjour! salut! Hi everyone!

Oregon Coast,keyhole - Garry LIddell

This picture is powerful, dynamic, it is was taken along the Oregon Coastline at a place called Keyhole, it has been photographed  by many visitors who have been enraptured by its vibrant energy. ( This picture was taken by Garry Liddell.)  I’ve always had a interest in doors, gates and the like.  A door is not just something that closes you in, but it an opportunity to go through or enter into a new discovery. I recall many years ago, while still at the hospital, we had expanded, adding  another large component to our corporate structure a new Public Relations Director came on board. He was from “away” meaning he wasn’t local,  When I had occasion to meet with him, I found him pleasant enough, but what struck me most was the huge poster he had in his office. It was all doors, all shapes, sizes and colours.  Till that moment I hadn’t realized that others shared my “passion” for doors.  Like duh!

Sometimes in life we are so engrossed in what we are doing, have to do, need to do, want to do, we forget that there is a whole world going on around us that we are not “seeing” or partaking in, because we are existing and not LIVING.  Maybe a month or so later, Michael came to my office with a big round package, he had remembered my delight in seeing the doors so next time he had returned to him hometown, he got me a copy of the poster.  I have it to this day, as a reminder of his kindness, and the memory of the Ah Ha! moment I had that day.  I had become so focused and caught up in my “job” and “hospital politics” I had lost touch with  my “inner voice”.

What sunshine is to flowers, smiles/kindness is to humanity.   They are but trifles, to be sure, but, scattered along life’s pathways, the good they do is inconceivable. (Addison)

It is easy to get caught up in our day to day, however if it is important to you, you can always find some time in your day to pray/meditate.  Give yourself permission to get in touch with your “inner voice” . with strong conviction and Makoto (sincere effort)  you will find the door or pathway that will lead you towards your goal, and give you the “key” or drive to see your “challenge” through.                                   May your day be blessed with positive, loving energy.     Oyashikiri
