the listener

Holding her breath, she stood stalk still, she didn’t want to listen, but she couldn’t help but overhear the conversation in the hall.  Her husband was talking to another woman as they approached the doorway she had been about to enter. As they got closer, she heard her husband’s voice lower, the way he did when he was going to tell her something endearing.  The woman’s laugh was soft and pleasing, she couldn’t quite make out what her husband had said, but she did hear him call her darling.   She froze, a chill ran down her spine, and all the happiness she had felt just a few minutes before evaporated. She didn’t continue on her journey and join them, instead she prayed they wouldn’t see her.. and leaned back hoping to remain out of sight.

When their footsteps faded as they descended the staircase to the reception area, she retreated back into the powder room.  Her shoulders slumped, her head bowed, she let the sadness wash over her.  How? when? why? she asked herself, somehow she couldn’t accept that her husband was unfaithful, yet she had heard him call the  woman darling, and…… oh dear what was she to do….

A knock on the door startled her back to the moment…”everyone is waiting for you Millicent are you coming down?”  Her sister voice was familiar, she felt the love and concern, “you’ve been gone for a while, is everything alright?”  Straightening her shoulders, she looked at the woman in the mirror and smiled, it didn’t reach her eyes, but it would do.  Her sister gave her a small hug, linked arms with her and together they descended the wide staircase.

SURPRISE!…Happy Birthday everyone cried out, laughing and throwing confetti at her, balloons were everywhere..  Standing at the bottom of the steps with his arms stretched out in welcome was her husband, and next to him  a woman who looked familiar but she couldn’t place.  “Darling” her husband said as he drew  her into his arms with a loving hug, ” we have a surprise for you” … turning to the petite little brunette beside him, he said ” remember little Maggie, meet the very  grown up Maggie”  Feelings of joy and happiness washed over her, little Maggie, the little baby she had cared for till the family moved away.  What a wonderful surprise, this is who her husband had been talking to,   “Darling, are you alright?” her husband leaned over with concern in his voice.  What a fool she had been, she had not listened to all that was being said, and she had not walked out and greeted them when the were coming down the hallway, instead, she had let herself react to the few words she heard, and let her own insecurities sweep her into a total heartbreak moment.

When we listen to music we listen to all the notes, when we listen to others speak, we should be sure of what we heard before we react, not always easy, but it is worth the effort if it is important to our mental health.  Live today to your fullest.

Buongiorno, greetings!

Sometimes I just want to share with you,

Thank you for spending time with me today.  There are times when there are so many feelings and thoughts in my mind, I know that its best to just let someone else speak. =^_^=

Do you use the I Ching, if you are familiar with the Book of Changes, you may like myself find it to be a wonderful guide when you come to a crossroad … and are pondering which direction to go. Often I just know and instinctively “I follow my nose” as the expression goes.  Today, these are the words I read     “you come face to face with the perpetrator of wrong thinking.  Circumstances are such that you can effortlessly seize control of the situation.  Proceed carefully.  It is dangerous to attempt or abolish an old and ingrained pattern all at once..”

Good Morning Everyone….

Time to hit the road, time to travel along a  route not followed before. Finding the secondary roads that will lead past delightful vistas that will please the visual senses.  There was a time when cars did not have air conditioning, we drove with the windows down.  We could smell the various odours our climate brings to our faculties that carry the “notes” to the brain. The heat on the dusty roads, the vegetation parched waiting for rain, or the moisture from the lake wafting   up so that for the seconds we pass, we smell the algae, hear the frogs, even see fish leaping out of the water, depending on how close we were to t he water’s edge.  How different our rides were, we seldom went by water on a hot day without seeing boats, and people near or on the water participating in water activities.  Enjoying the outdoors was what the summer days were all about.

Now it just isn’t the same, super highways and main roads take us away from the populated areas, and when we do pass playgrounds, picnic areas, and lakes, often they are  void of people.  Where is everyone, and what are they doing?  Not only that often when we drive by farmland, I’m saddened to see bare grazing land, and often scenes like this.

and this, I can’t help but wonder at what the building was like in another time, and how full of laughter, tears and sorrows must have transpired for it to now be but a memory.

Let us start today dear friends, to live with our best intentions to make this a week a time to remember. Lets say thank you and show appreciation for the people who are close to us. Give thanks for the moments shared as we make our way on this road of life.  It is our journey and we are never alone.

In response to your requests, here are a couple of toe tappers =^_^=  and I do agree with you all, no matter your personal beliefs, the words and feelings of these tunes leave you JOYFUL ..

winding road

There are days when the way ahead is just so darn daunting.  You know you need to continue and persevere, yet you seem to be encountering one challenge after another.  Stand still for a moment, and quiet the mind.  Allow moments to pass without thinking about what needs to be done, or how to do something. Then readdress the situation with an appreciation for what needs to be done.  Take initiative in tackling the work or task with makoto (sincerity).  Let your strong resolve carry you to the next  bend or fork in the road.

winding road 2

We are all on the same journey, only we have each our own landscapes to discover. Life is never dull and it never stands still. Often we travel parts of the journey on our own, but, we are never ever alone, THE LIFE FORCE OF THE UNIVERSE (GOD) is always with us.  I heard a wonderful gospel song yesterday that I hope you enjoy, no matter what philosophy you follow it has a positive message ….

Intuition – Awareness

COPD 3

Good Morning Everyone….

For days I have been grappling with my own awareness of a disease called COPD.-  As a member of the ministry I see and speak with a lot of different people from all walks of life.  As a Health Care Professional, I am faced with a lot of anxiety and stress issues over one form of illness or another.  Recently I have had to brush up on my “knowledge” of just what COPD is.  I use the term, I hear the acronym  I even use it.  BUT, not that long ago when asked exactly what the full wording was , I drew a blank.  COPD    Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.

COPD 4

I have no excuse for not remembering, over the year I have met enough people who live with and manage this challenge.  Being retired, the occassions are less,  Unless we are face to face withe the disease, or have someone in our immediate circle suffering with the disease, it fades into the background.  In the Church of Perfect Liberty, PL ministers are set up to offer personal guidance that respond to problems in our daily lives.  Through consultations you receive personal guidance tailored to your individual character and situation.  Each of us has our own unique personality, lifestyle and challenges, therefore, it is different how each of us will practice the true way, or seek happiness.

COPD 5

If you want more on COPD you can search on Google, there is a ton of information on the disease out there, most importantly IF you think you have any  symptoms of COPD, talk about it with your doctor.  Don’t delay, there is no  known cure, but it can be managed.  Intuition awareness of our own bodies, how we feel, the personal challenges, they are real, we need to speak out, share, and work with health care professionals to overcome the frustrations of dealing with challenges on our own.  Let family know, and friends, so they can share the challenge with you.  Sometimes life becomes restrictive, redirect your energy, find other ways to occupy your time that are as rewarding and fun as your other pastimes were.  Value your intuition.

Music brought COPD back into my life.  A performer whose daily life with COPD has given him the strength and dedication to share music with his friends and followers.  I hear how the disease is affecting  him when he speaks, it isn’t easy for him, yet the music he brings to the world with his genius for pulling together various artists and sounds into a symphony of good vibrations is awesome.  I have no idea what personal pain and challenges he deals with on a daily basis, but I do know his positive energy, it comes out during his sets, he weaves a spell of love through everyone who attends his shows.  This doesn’t happen .. just because… it happens because the man has connected with God, his body gives him “grief” but his soul is flying high with  a Divine love that he wants to share with the world.  To hear and appreciate his artist creations, you can contact his partner  Maryrosella (Butterflyrose) for his schedule inworld, Or for that matter  DJ Sky himself (SkyRider Sicling)

For those of you interested in Gospel, DJ Sky plays gospel for an hour on Sundays, from 11- noon SL time. (Pacific Time)  You want Blues, you want Gospel DJ Sky will serve it up to you big time.

Stroll gently through your day, breathe in the fresh air, and drink in the sweetness of life, no matter the challenges.  Love is all around us. Smile and give the love back twofold.         Oyashikiri

Good Morning Everyone!

shadow dancing

Celebrate the day, put your whole heart and makoto into everything you do (sincerity).  Never regret the choices you make, learn, embrace the moment and step into the next one.  The above picture appears in several places on Pinterest, and a different author of verse is under each one,  So to you dear artist and creator of this moment. I say kudos on a wonderful visual interpretation of life.

Dance to the music of life. The Universe is all around us.  Therefore, so is LOVE.!!!!                     Oyashikiri

No regrets

Having attended at blues concert the other night,my mind is still tripping through the various emotions and feelings that played through the night.  The DJ had a tremendous knowledge of the music he played and he knew how to blend and knit the sounds so smoothly that you were drawn in almost immediately to his web.  The DJ was one, SkyRider Sicling  he plays nothing but the blues, down home southern blues.  His partner is Butterflyrose,  (owner of Sweet Magnolias)  together they bring the house down.  I will be reporting more on them at a later time.

What DJ Sky brought to me, were sound vibrations, that vibrated and sang through me like a massage that started inside and worked its way through out my body,( as the song goes), to higher and higher planes of personal ecstacy.  If you are a music lover, what ever style you connect with, you know what I mean.  This DJ  has a talent for weaving a spell with his selections. that is an art form.  Many other’s have a talent with music and can put together a good play list,  This is not what this DJ does, he knows his music so well, that he can actually work the songs into a total experience that encapsulate you in his web. Compare the difference of going to the movies, and going to an Imax theatre.

His music may not be your style, but you appreciate the blues in anyway  shape or form, you owe it to yourself to hear this man’s performances.  I am told he does a gospel hour on Sundays, I have yet to attend or hear what he does with Gospel, but you can believe me when I say, as soon as I can get to one of his Gospel presentations, I’ll be there.

In life, we all face difficulties / challenges, and how we deal with them always involves choices.  Sometimes we make good choices, and other times, we don’t quiet hit the mark. I’ve learned that if I am faced with a choice, its because I have a lesson to learn.  Whatever that lesson is, it is mine, I own it.  When you own the choices you make in life, when you look at problems as opportunities for growth.  You have no regrets… life is good.  Another door opens.

Blessings everyone! happy start to the week-end.   Oyashikiri
