That’s right, Xmas, snow, jingle bells, and all that glitters, that is my world the last few days as I start to prepare for the making of holiday cards for seniors and shut ins . My sister is a long time contributor to various charities and organizations, this year she was able to get my attention, for the cause, and I accepted. Yes, it is not till later in the year, but as all of you who are card artists and crafters will know, to be done, with access to supplies etc. we start now.
With shops busy with current events, such as weddings, graduations, vacations, winter is far away, and many have their Xmas/winter embellishments and card/paper stock on sale.
In some ways it is easier for me to be creative about a season that is on its way, in months to come, because I get to work in a sun filled studio with the temperature a nice seasonal 60 – 70 something degrees.
With no pressure to get something done, now….. because someone else needs it to do their part. ie. know what inventory they have so they can know how best to serve their clients. I can create and play just “chilling”
The picture of the “tree” was taken a few years back when my other sister was up from California, and we toured a “green” area not far from where we were at t he time.
These are the other hikers we met along the trail.
This is a beautiful time of the year, so much is happening in the woodlands and gardens that are waking after a long winter’s sleep. We are so fortunate for our abundance. Today’s lesson on the calendar #23 is Applaud the Makoto of others (Makoto=sincerity) When you encounter good faith or kindness in others, make sure that you acknowledge it fully.
Brinde aplausos al Makoto de las personas. Cuando recibe cordialidad y amabilidad de los otros, admirelos sin escatimar.

Spent a wonderful time exploring the inside of this shop. Original sculptures, collectibles, jewelry along with music from award winning Thomas B. Maracle. We were passing through and I didn’t get the time I needed to see everything I wanted to see. I Understand there is also a recording studio there that I would have liked to explore, and obviously to hear music that has been produced there. http://www.nativerenaissance.com/
What I did find there, was this wonderful painting that had been done, used for advertising (guessing) and then left to linger in the elements, I so wanted to rescue it.. but left it for someone else to enjoy and discover. Instead I took a picture.
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I looked and saw “beauty”… someone else may see nothing at all, but the little otter, swimming along with his friends, the giant turtle and the pesky beaver (?) , left me wanting to know more about their journey, and the man who painted them.
A journey without an ending? We will never know. If you travel that way, say hello.

Accept Everything with Appreciation
The morning sun coming in through the sunroom windows
caught and filtered by the coloured glass
gives each item it’s very own aura
When we show appreciation in life
for all that comes our way
the positive energy of God
will give each of us our own unique
aura, we will radiate
with the blessing of love and light

“Sea una persona capaz de agradecer todas las cosas que acontecen ante sus ojos.
Aquellos que agradecen mucho son felices.
Become a person who can be thankful for anything that happens to them.
A person who is always thankful is a happy person “

PL Precept #11 Always be with GOD
at the end of the day,
and that day will come
our bodies will return to the earth
we will be free
but often the results of our actions in life
will have had an effect, or changed the course
of another’s life
it is important to remember that each action,
will have, or bring about,
a responding action
sometimes positive, sometimes not.

A cul du sac, all on its own could be seen from the highway, had to go back. I felt such a strong draw … such a sense of abandonment from a place that had once had such a wonderful exciting and vibrant life. The architecture of the houses with the faux fronts.. loved them.
A blessing and silent prayer for all of you today
P: Precept # 11 Always be with God
Sunday morning found me standing in gales of wind, trying to capture this beauty without being blown away. A chain like fence wasn’t making it easier for me, but I wanted to capture the iron bird waiting to fly.
A different plane stood by, they both looked like the were waiting. I searched the area for signs of life, there were vehicles in the parking lot, but no signs of humans. This training field is near the Asian grocers where I shop, so I do often see small planes waiting for their next chance to soar up into the clouds. I had a service to be at, so didn’t get to stand around, one day I’ll have the timing right, meanwhile, I will enjoy them at rest.
A plane did soar through the skies above … but t was a big commercial plane heading off into the yonder. The main airport is not far from the location where I was standing… Unless you live or are near an airport, or a flight path… you seldom see or hear a plane these days. Just because we don’t hear or see them, doesn’t mean they are not there.
Later, in the afternoon I found myself out in the other end of the city, travelling down a road where this factory or industrial building caught my eye. During the week this place would be busy with big cement trucks and other industrial machinery working away … I would not have been drawn to the place. Probably driven by without giving it a glance. But yesterday it was the shapes and colours that drew my attention. It was a must that we drive down so that I could get out and walk to where I could get a better look.
There is something wonderfully appealing in the creative world around us. It is so diverse. How can we not marvel at the minds that pulled together to create so many of “hard core” ART around us in our everyday lives. I drive a truck, I enjoy getting in and being able to drive to where I want to go. It is important to remember and appreciate all the things we so easily take for granted in life.
The pilot might fly the plane, but he had to train, someone had to build the plane, it didn’t build itself, the hours of testing, the research and developement for the bet materials, the combinations, the safety standards, so much goes into our being able to live the lives we do. Let’s remember to give thanks, and to appreciate not only the people around us, but the many things in life that make our lives easier.
giving thanks, gratitude
appreciation

There are times, when we are simply on a road, going nowhere in particular, just going. Sometimes roads are long and winding, other times, they simply are a cleared piece of land that cuts through a woodland, hillside, or acres of farmed land. Before it was the norm to have air conditioning in a car, we would drive with the windows open, experiencing the highs and lows of the ambience around us. Our senses were alert to all the world around us, including the dust that swirled around the car on hot lazy days, pebbles hitting the side of the car, the manure in the fields. We were bombarded with a myriad of sights, sounds and smells. We looked around more, we took in everything around us.
We took the tracks that led to places that were simply “lost in time”… When we stopped the world came alive with different sounds, and the blissful renderings of a countryside alive with the sounds of nature gave us a rhapsody of “quiet”

There is something enduring about older vehicles
when you opened a door or closed one
there was a “feel” to it, that doesn’t come with the automobiles of today.

So pretty, so bright, little dandelion
you are the Bee’s delight
no matter where you grow,
your golden glow
will beckon
and of course, euphorbia polychroma
the dense tuft of surprisingly green leaves
and lovely bright yellow bracts
reaching for the skies
the magnolia tree is preparing to shine
in a day or two
these delicate fuchsia buds will open
the deep defined leaves of the ivy
have started their climb
soon the buddha will be covered
not smothered,
but dressed in a living cloak or vest
next to the corkscrew hazel
this Amur maple has
started to protest the long winter
and is showing her strong desire
to break free and thrive again
all around
new growth abounds
the ground has come alive
and so my dears, have I
for like the seasons
each day is a new beginning
as the bees stir and begin their quests
the delicious dandelions
awaits their visit
Yay another day has begun
Happy Wednesday everyone!
