NH moment

P1000717 (1)

New Hampshire on an early morning walk.  It is May, I’m taking my time enjoying the fresh morning air, not thinking about anything else but the moment.

Only now am  getting to see some of the pictures I took during our time away. A holiday is time for me to wander, some pictures were taken with my Lumix, others with my iPhone.  Slowly I will get to them, for tonight, I wanted to drop in and say hi… I’ve missed you all.  It wasn’t till we were on our way back today that I gave in and bought an Acer Notebook, sorry to all you Apple peeps, I simply can’t work away on an iPad like I can a Windows/PC…

You won’t see a lot of sunshine, just a lot of fresh mountain air, and the fresh new buds of new sprouts. When the windows were open we could hear the crystal clear water cascading down the mountain side through the gorge.  Looking out from out two side windows, all we saw was the drop down to the forest floor.  Already the bears have started to stir, one guest who stayed in one of the back “cabin/rooms” saw a bear wandering in the wooded area, in back of the Inn a few days before we arrived.  We were advised not to let our dogs off leash or unattended.

We did drive down one day into the southern part of NH, where the bigger cities are, we didn’t stay long, a few hours. that was all we needed before we high tailed it back up north into the National Forest area, where we were staying,  Holidays are never long enough, but, we know we will go back, and really, I missed being home, and chatting with you.  Go figure. I love my time with you.  Makes me feel good.  Now I’ll be able to catch up on what you all have been doing.

It is late in the day, but to all the Mother’s out there, Happy Mother’s Day.

Xmas in May

2014-05-03 2014-05-03 001 015

That’s right, Xmas, snow, jingle bells, and all that glitters, that is my world the last few days as I start to prepare for the making of holiday cards for seniors and shut ins .  My sister is a long time contributor to various charities and organizations, this year she was able to get my attention, for the cause, and I accepted.  Yes, it is not till later in the year, but as all of you who are card artists and crafters will know, to be done, with access to supplies etc. we start now.

With shops busy with current events, such as weddings, graduations, vacations, winter is far away, and many have their Xmas/winter embellishments and card/paper stock on sale.

In some ways it is easier for me to be creative about a season that is on its way, in months to come, because I get to work in a sun filled studio with the temperature a nice seasonal 60 – 70 something degrees.

With no pressure to get something done, now….. because someone else needs it to do their part.  ie. know what inventory they have so they can know how best to serve their clients.  I can create and play just “chilling”

The picture of the “tree” was taken a few years back when my other sister was up from California, and we toured a “green” area not far from where we were at t he time.

These are the other hikers we met  along the trail.

This is a beautiful time of the year, so much is happening in the woodlands and gardens that are waking after a long winter’s sleep.  We are so fortunate for our abundance.  Today’s lesson on the calendar #23 is  Applaud the Makoto of others (Makoto=sincerity)  When you encounter good faith or kindness in others, make sure that you acknowledge it fully.

Brinde aplausos al Makoto de las personas.  Cuando recibe cordialidad y amabilidad de los otros, admirelos sin escatimar.

We have four glorious seasons

each one giving us different reasons

to go out and explore the great Canadian experience

I do love to travel

but more and more, I want to be home

where life is simple, and its my own’

The holiday season is fast approaching

wood fire crackling in the fireplace,  home baking

and evergreens everywhere

Good Evening everyone!

What is it about the human race that we are always trying to be something other than what we are. When we are young we want to be older, when we are aging we look to doing things that will help regain youth and vitality.  We are either too thin, our thighs too heavy, or one I hear the most, “I need to lose weight”.

Winter is coming, already we are hearing the groaning and moaning, and it really hasn’t even started.  How many winters have you lived?  If you are in a part of the world where it will be summer, then you too will be entering a new season.  What are you plans for the coming season?  Same old habits, nesting? catching up on your reading?  The telly is already starting its many many adverts for the holidays, first the “what to buy”, then the where to eat, or what to eat. and then once the parties really begin, and the festive season is really on a roll, we will be bombarded with the programs, and adverts on weight control, proper eating, and the ever popular-digs at your ability to keep new year’s resolutions.

This is a picture of London, England during the month of December.  Just looking at the picture I can feel the bustling activity of shoppers and feel the holiday “mood” or ambiance the shop keepers and city planners  have injected into the atmosphere.  On the other hand when I look at the picture taken in Montana on a snowy day, of a group out for a sleigh ride, I relax and feel and deeper connection to the “spirit” of Xmas, rather than the “marketing buzz” that the industry of peddlers has tried to wrap us in.

Turn off or cut back on what makes this time of year an unhappy one.  Find a new way to reach middle ground.  We tend to think that we “have” to do the same things every year, “because”.  We don’t.  We have choices.  Yes, really…….. Put your full heart into making a change, you will be rewarded.
