Cool Monday

IMG_0875

Good morning everyone, look what I came across the other day.  No, not for me, I brought it to the attention of someone else who was delighted.  Her husband explained, she had one rooms with wall to wall villages, all for the month of December.  Yes, it was kept out all year, there was too much of it to  put away each year only to be taken out again in a few months.  Her happiness at this find was INFECTIOUS.

I happily went on my way towards the area I wanted to check out. But it was a good reminder on how another person’s happiness can have such a positive effect on others. Everyone around got into the “spirit” as she told us about her Christmas room.  Meanwhile for me it was back to the search for items to work into my fright journal. –smiles— just thinking about the black soot pages, splattering of dried blood, and other fiendish fun things I can find.

To each one’s own…. pleasures be… and happily for me, I delight in the décor and fun of Hallow’s eve…. pour me another !  coffin- tender… stale black coffee with a lot of ice….make sure it is cold enough to turn my fingers blue…and I’ll thank you with a wink from my stitched and bleeding eye, if you are quick about it, I will tip you with a 1000 year old egg.

oh dear, oh dear, I think the fresh air is too intoxicating for me

Have a screeching fun day.

ON a serious note..Service is at 10 tomorrow... {Ancestors Day ceremony} by then, we hope to have tamed the brat in me.

Remember spread happiness today and always.

December arrives, and the excitement starts to build

The airwaves are full of happy songs anticipating the festive holidays

As children it didn’t matter what or where the holiday originated

not really, it was that everyone seemed so happy, and time was made

for decorating, planning and having friends and family over.

It centered around an evergreen tree, if you were lucky  enough to have

one fresh from the farm or farmer’s market, the smell of the freshly cut

tree would permeate the house.

In school, we were told about what Christmas meant to our classmates

and how, the spirit of goodwill to all, was the lesson we should be learning

Mostly we were from different backgrounds, and the teacher would do

his/her best to  show us how in respecting each other’s  differences

we could all enjoy this wonderful holiday together.  Learn from each other

and share in the giving of “loving one another” and working towards

“peace on earth”

vintage xmas 2

We were encouraged to make something special for those we cared about

it was a time where we made time to find something to give our

closest friends and parents something from the “heart”

It wasn’t about the cost, but about showing how that person brought

happiness into our lives by sharing their lives with ours.

Xmas cards were so much fun to make or pick out, each with a message

that was specific to that friend or parent.

There was an innocence, a joy, it felt good to say Merry Christmas.. to one and all

Not for religious reasons, but because it was being respectful, and caring.

Like saying, “have a great day and life”  Almost always it brought a smile for a response.

Yes, the world is changing, and Yes there are now many more cultures that have come together

under one umbrella.  The month of December is the one time that should be Universal in maintaining

the spirit of Christmas.. (Xmas)….. we are all ONE… we all love, hurt, endure, and live one day at a time.

We want health, happiness and longevity for ourselves and our loved ones.  no matter who we are….

let us celebrate this holiday, with the mantra of “goodwill to all”

allow the cheerfulness of the season, to bring glad tidings to all…..

The X season

Good Day to you all... I hope that wherever you are the season is cheery and warm, happy and breezy.  It is the X season!   Xmas is everywhere.  Xmas trees are being sold in parking lots, malls and business are decked out in garlands of bright shining lights and the music from present and past seasons that are played at this time of the year, are filling the air in most public areas.  You can’t miss that this is the month of December, last month of the year, and where the shops are geared up to sell, sell, sell.

Certain agencies take advantage of the season, and spend dollars putting ads on that ask for your money for strangers in way off countries.  And  not to leave the animals out, some  post e and share awful and terrible pictures of cruelty to domestic animals, looking for money for their needs.

Any and all material/cosmetic/organic etc. you could dream of, or want are being presented on a platter for you to drool or dream over.  The pressure is applied from all quarters, credit cards are getting a work out everyone gets caught up.  Its hard not to enjoy the gaiety and colourful temptations in some way or another.

d6341cce2b81d9abb3c0176e10f2fcb1Commercials tug at the heart-strings, the movies shown are often tear jerkers, almost all with happy endings.  There was a time when  all the princesses  lived happily ever after, and fathers and mothers knew best. (well OK, on the telly)  Xmas shows were musical and variety specials featuring talent that was there to entertain.  We went to bed with dreams of candy canes and lingering sounds of laughter from the evening of shared fun watching the one television in the house.

When we had news to share with walked over to our friends place, no matter the weather, to share our news.  Or took up pen/pencil and wrote a letter with all our news.  If we took pictures we had to wait for the all the film to be used up and then taken in for developing.  It could take weeks..  Think about it, could we do that today?

Would this be sufficient today?

Love is a precious gift,  it one that we can give personally, from the heart, true love is unconditional,  When we say I love you, we are saying we care, and will always care, no matter if that person is with us or not.  We care for the other  person’s happiness.  Love with all your heart (sincerity)

And for you who love a traditional song…..  =^_^=

I appreciate each and every one of you

young/old, you are the treasures in my world

God Bless you each and all

For you are what makes this world a better place

We are all ONE

really?

Good Evening everyone!

What is it about the human race that we are always trying to be something other than what we are. When we are young we want to be older, when we are aging we look to doing things that will help regain youth and vitality.  We are either too thin, our thighs too heavy, or one I hear the most, “I need to lose weight”.

Winter is coming, already we are hearing the groaning and moaning, and it really hasn’t even started.  How many winters have you lived?  If you are in a part of the world where it will be summer, then you too will be entering a new season.  What are you plans for the coming season?  Same old habits, nesting? catching up on your reading?  The telly is already starting its many many adverts for the holidays, first the “what to buy”, then the where to eat, or what to eat. and then once the parties really begin, and the festive season is really on a roll, we will be bombarded with the programs, and adverts on weight control, proper eating, and the ever popular-digs at your ability to keep new year’s resolutions.

This is a picture of London, England during the month of December.  Just looking at the picture I can feel the bustling activity of shoppers and feel the holiday “mood” or ambiance the shop keepers and city planners  have injected into the atmosphere.  On the other hand when I look at the picture taken in Montana on a snowy day, of a group out for a sleigh ride, I relax and feel and deeper connection to the “spirit” of Xmas, rather than the “marketing buzz” that the industry of peddlers has tried to wrap us in.

Turn off or cut back on what makes this time of year an unhappy one.  Find a new way to reach middle ground.  We tend to think that we “have” to do the same things every year, “because”.  We don’t.  We have choices.  Yes, really…….. Put your full heart into making a change, you will be rewarded.

Money and “things”

This is one of the seasons where it seems a lot of money is either being spent, or credit is being used. We all know that when we use credit, the debt is one more thing added to the financial stress we carry most of the year.  Many do it anyway.  It is very hard to resist all the marketing and highly paid for advertisements that bombard us from all directions.  If you live in an urban area, and visit any shopping center or mall, you are blinded by colourful lights and beckoning elves and snowmen.  I must get a zillion sale notices starting in  November about just what I need added to my already cluttered life if I am to enjoy a good “Christmas”

The truth is,  we don’t need anything from a retail store to make us happy.  Happiness is a state of mind.  Happiness that is acquired through a purchase soon losses its luster and appeal.  That electronic must have soon is replaced by something fancier and more sophisticated. The dress or outfit once worn a few times is no longer to be seen in.

The Value of Money and Things Depends on How you Choose to Use Them. (PL teaching)  Money and things are materials for your self-expression. Use them to their fullest for the sake of others and society. (Church of Perfect Liberty)

World Peace starts from Peace at Home and in Our Hearts.  Inner Peace is the greatest gift of all.

Have a wonderful day everyone, be happy.

Blessings, Oyashikiri

Merry Christmas?

Image

Everywhere we go there are decorations, and signs advertising events to celebrate the festive season. Merry Christmas was the standard greeting of the day back when I was a “youngster”.  Even though I myself didn’t celebrate “Christmas”  I knew what it was supposed to mean.  My Mother would take us to church where we would hear about the birth of Jesus and hear the Christmas songs that were being sung.  That was pretty much it, in the world away from the Sunday service, it was all about hanging out.music, dancing, & going out.  Then there was the formal or family dinner,  that no one was really interested in except the parents, I didn’t care for it then anymore than I care for it now.

What I do love and I mean truly have a deep affection for, is the spirit of what the season is supposed to be about.  It is my belief that this should be the spirit all year long, not just on a given day or month. Goodwill to all, and Peace on Earth.

Asked why I participate” in the  trappings of Xmas.  I do so because my family and  friends do, it is their tradition.  I may not study the bible, or follow the “teacher” they do,but I love them, and respect their way to God.  God is our connection, in God we are all ONE.  ” Everyone has a different point of view.  Let’s enjoy and appreciate the personalities and differences we all have.” (PL Teaching)

We all celebrate the JOY of GOD, we all pray for PEACE on EARTH, if some say it by wishing me a Merry Xmas, then   Merry Christmas it is.

Adult – very inviting landscaping. You know I’m always drawn to the little cottage off in the distance. =^_^=’ http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Hot%20Bodies/199/243/22

The Xmas tree has been put out, but there is no snow yet, the water is clear and inviting, the mountain off in the distance speaks of worlds to conquer, yet here on the deck, the birds and crickets sings, all is peaceful.

nov.26_002In the background I hear the voice of Edith Piaff singing songs from a long ago time.  It is very tranquil here.  I may stay and visit awhile.  The outside world is so busy, everyone is in a hurry.  The radio must be on in that little chalet I saw,  it was, the room in the chalet is a little oasis of comfort and charm.  I left the SL(Second Life) to  attend to every day errands, when I returned this evening, there was a couple happily  enjoying the sharing possibilities  provided in the cabin.  I left =^_^=   3 is company.

nov.26_004When we venture down paths we’ve not traveled before, we are more likely to encounter new experiences, and new people. In this build I discovered a world that is very sensuous, the designer has applied her skills to recreating a place that is inviting.  Her woodlands, home and furnishings are brought together in a piece of virtual art that is pleasing to the senses.

I bring this approach to my adventures in life, Life is Art,(PL, Precept #1) how we interact with the tools and canvas provided will influence the outcome of our day and lives.  Choose to use words and gestures that are kind, polite and courteous.  In this way, we help shape our day in a very positive way.

PL Precept #15, All is a Mirror   to recreate an environment such as the one visited today, the builder has to have lived, or experienced the “virtual world” they wished to share with visitors.  The site is group owned, it was founded by Leesha Azara (Pearl.solano)

PL Precept #18   Each moment is a Turning Point  I love this Precept, it is so positive and gives such hope.  Think about it, it is NOW, EACH moment is a Turning Point.!

Living in Perfect Liberty is so amazing.  Blessings everyone
