let’s rumble

ohhhh, you’ve heard the news.. We have a new way to get around, Canada Day is going to be a lot of fun. There will be so much to do. We can gather all our friends, maybe play a game or two.

The girls set out to find their friends, so that they could travel all together.

Ohhh dear, I think that we are not all going to get in the car. that’s OK, we’ll draw straws to see who gets to ride in the car, and who takes the bus.

Ohhhhhhh the car is ready to ride, but somehow, I can’t see how I’ll get too many of my friends inside. Dad may have to use the truck. or not =^_^= (he just took time to put my car together)

Ohhhhh non, dit Veronique je suis seule, but my friends they are many… it will never do, we will need to find another way to get downtown. Ginger’s generous offer to drive, was well intended, but, it will be best for us to go by bus. Travel is free today. Some times our friends, mean well, but the situation calls for another way to resolve the challenge at hand. Be grateful, show appreciation and explain why you are deciding another course of action. L’amour et la gentillesse (love and kindness) always work in keeping harmony amongst friends.

Told of the situation, they looked from one another, and began to giggle…all saw the impossibility of riding in the car.. Ahhhhhhhhhhh.. was all they could say between the chortling and giggling… ohhhhhhh c’est drole ahhhhhhhhhh

Let’s rumble they cheered, and headed for the bus stop, giggling all the way.

I drove by and had to stop

your beauty caught my breath

…. I just knew … I wanted more

parking the truck,

I carefully got out and walked across the layers of

crystalized ice that lay on the path

would I get to you in time

or would the bright noon day sunlight ..

soon….temporarily be covered by a cloud

I am closer now, and I can see that the mantle of glistening ice

every little space has been

covered by frozen droplets of ice

not so nice to walk on

but it certainly has graced your outline

with a gem like brilliance …

… be assured that I will share

this moment in the sun

for unlike many others

I do not see you as menace

but rather … a mischievous winter elf

who threw diamond droplets

into the frigid air

giving us a glimpse of

a miniature wonderland

where wee folk enjoy their winter play

Note – when I first saw this snow, I was driving in so I saw it from a different angle, when I parked I had to go further into the lot. Walking back to the “sight that caught my eye” I was struck by how beautiful it was from this direction too. In drawing closer, the highly defined shapes I had seen driving in, were not the same, so I tried to walk around to see what I had seen on driving in,

Fact… the moment had passed. for me to get the exact picture, I should have stopped the truck, right then and there, either put the passenger window down and tried to capture it then, BUT had I gotten out of the truck it wouldn’t have worked either because my sight line was at a different level. Don’t you love the BUT moments.

All said and done. I took my pictures, and checked them out when I got home.. What you see when you are standing right there.. at that moment… is not always what your camera captures. In this case… almost, but not quite.. why.. because the actually brilliance and shading that were true to my naked eye, did not or were not picked up in the same way by the camera’s lens

LIFE is ART…. PL Precept #1 Life is Art.

The situations we find ourselves in, every day, are much like I described above. No two people will ever see the exact same thing.. they may on an overall big picture, show and tell. But each person responds to the stimuli in her/his own way. If they were both able to capture it in a photo, the two photos would not be exactly the same.

We accept these difference in every day, situations, why do we have such a hard time, accepting when friends or loved ones, “see” life’s experiences in a different way than ours. “Food for thought”

Rev. Tiago shares a “musical moment”

Rev. Tiago is a young minister from Brazil who is now serving in the Ottawa church of Perfect Liberty. Reflecting on creativity and “happiness”, he shares the following. (I have kept his text and wording, Rev. One of those days, after I finish my missionary work, I went to my place to spend some time with my family. After a while, I was surfing online, reading some news and checking on several websites when I saw something that attracted my attention. It was a link for a video on youtube of an audition for The Voice show in Netherlands.

I saw this guy standing in the middle of the stage, an ordinary guy to be honest, that like so many others, was trying to be accepted in that contest show. But, from the moment that Mitchell Brunings opened his mouth to sing, the mood of the judges and the audience completely changed. After the first two lines of the song, all the judges pressed a button and turned to see who was singing. (Pressing the button means that the contender was accepted into the show). Mitchel Brunnings made everything seems to be so easy to be done. It was really incredible.

He was singing this incredible song, Redemption Song, by Bob Marley. But, his voice was so incredibly similar to Bob Marley’s that everyone was in shock. However, what really amazed me was that, it seemed to me that the song was not coming out of his mouth but from his heart.

I consider myself a fan of Bob Marley, but somehow, I never listened to that song before. The lyrics was so meaningful, so strong, so damn good!!! I was very grateful that I had the chance to watch this marvelous video.

But this situation made me think about something. In all fields of art, there are some genius who are capable of creating the same kind of good emotion in our hearts. Those people are capable of creating such a masterpiece that can make fill our hearts with joy, hope or even make us cry like little babies.

In that sense, in our lives, there are wonderful examples of people who are doing their best, living their lives in a masterful way. Living in a world like and being able to notice that we can be happy at any time is a wonderful thing. Just now, I remember part of this famous song:

“And I think to myself, what a wonderful world”

I had prepared this post last night before heading to bed. I had a very musical evening of sleep, =^_^=…

Live each day with excitement

PL teaching – Live Each Day With Excitement > Challenge everything with enthusiasm. You will be rewarded with joy and encounter happy occurrences.

I am back from the most amazing time away, where each and every day was a new challenge. The rewards were many and the happy encounters and memories made, endless. There is no way that I can begin to tell you, or share with you all that has happened to me in the last 9 days. As I took in the country, the people, the environment, and all that went with the days and nights away in this remarkable country called Japan, I knew that it was a new chapter in my journey of self discovery. the images and sounds, the friends made, in one word, it was all profound. A simple egg – became not just an egg, but a “wow”, the taste was different and the colour of the yoke was as bright as the sun. Telling you this is so mundane, you had to be there, I thought a dye had been used, but I was assured that no this was the colour of the yoke in Japan. Certainly in every other instance I had to see a yoke it was the same intense orange.

Be assured that as the days progress and my mind recovers from the jet lag, I will be recounting the many moments/insights and learning, much is still being assimilated and processed. I was there to learn, I was on a pilgrimage, the Director of the International Office of PL – Rev. Tokuo Itagaki, and his team of assistants and staff did an amazing job. the Rev. Fukito Kimura who coordinated the Rensei Training was outstanding. It was a phenomenal experience.

There were hundreds of people there trying to communicate with one another, The main languages being Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish (Castellano), we were only 5 English, 4 USA and 1 Canadian (yours truly), we came together because of our faith and dedication to PL (Perfect Liberty).

For the Founders Day Ceremony ( Kyososai), August 1. PL followers came by the bus load. We are talking of thousands of people who came to worship/pray and celebrate. During service, as promised I held you all close to my heart so that the blessings could be shared with you. Oshieoya-sama’s presence brought total silence and reverence, it was totally awesome. The flames spell out LIFE IS ART
