Doors for Norm
some doors will no longer close
when we look inside
we see the remnants of what was
meanwhile
other doors
are salvaged and become
a work of art
one door has been left to decay
another lived to
see and brighten another day
doors reflect a lot of things
that is why
so many of us
love our doors.

when it is no longer on hinges
it is still a door
whether inside
or outside that door
we really never know
what we will find
doors are gateways
whether coming in
or going out
never under-estimate

some rooms are very small and confining
and if one could
they would keep you in that room
allowing only the essentials
not out of cruelty
but under the false illusion
they are protecting you
It is true that a door can shut out elements
restrict freedom
and bring with it the clouds of gray
like on a cold winters day
The beauty of a door
is that it is meant to open and close
one needs only to believe
they hold they key
and trust in me
we all do (hold the key)
appreciate the beauty of the door
understand that its presence
is not a menace
simply a challenge in that moment
tomorrow
tomorrow is guaranteed to come
and when it does
it is a brand new day
stay or walk away
for YOU
hold the key (you really do)
to your destiny
