Gifts appear /happen when we least expect them to. While working on this morning’s blog, I came across this video. It was posted by Jim Stenson, on YouTube, I can’t tell you how I landed there, I don’t remember consciously going there. I was looking at trucks..(yes I was distracted by a 2015 Chevy Colorado )..and then oops. what is this.. It is such a beautiful and moving video, I am sharing it with you this morning.
Jim put the music to the video, he published it in 2012, the Mother contacted him in 2013, and he has published and recorded the sequence of events in his post, along with part of the conversation he had with the Mother of the child (Herman) and the dog’s name is Himalaya. To see the original post and Jim’s notes please follow the links in the video I’ve posted.
Have a good day everyone..

Sometimes we need to drift into another dimension. We need to allow our thoughts to wander and meander in ways that will expand and re-energize. this is Forest Elf Music – Elf Village posted on YouTube by Brandon Fiechter July 2013
Music, the visuals, they were just what I needed after several days out in a row with all the Season’s hype. I’ve also covered several holiday Xmas events.. I was the there as the photographer and of course to gather information for one of my blog reviews.. There is only so much HO HO HO one can take. LOL I’m sure after a good night’s sleep I’ll be fine. Meanwhile, you get to enjoy this wonderful trip into the world of fantasy and fun.
Sometimes someone elses creativity has already expressed something I was going to say, the creators of this video, while giving us a chuckle.. also made a statement..
We are all unique and have our own way of expressing and living our lives. This next clip was also a cutie I found on my FB page this morning. My friends you are so wonderful with your ingenuity and posts. (the squirrel found a nut and wanted to hide it )
Those were not my words back when I was actively working … because back then we didnt’ text, there wasn’t a cell phone attached to almost every household, in fact likely none. But to those who came wanting to learn to meditate, it was almost always about their need to find a quiet place for themselves, within the confines of their busy lives. Young professionals needing and wanting grounding.
Just Be……… so easy to say, so hard to do.
Common when I asked, “Did you get to meditate since we last met?” Answer, “Only, a few times, but each time I was interrupted, or the neighbour, (or children etc.) were making so much noise, I couldn’t concentrate”
And there lies the problem. meditation isn’t about concentration, it isn’t about having candles in the room, or soothing music with a nice incense happening. Meditation is the art of staying in touch with your own personal connection to the “Divine”.God lives in us all… the Energy of Life is the force that makes us allONE.
If ever you have been blessed with someone in your life where just being together, or knowing that the other is close by, is comforting, and an extension of YOU, that is a special bond, and one that – simply is – We can’t manufacture this sense of extension, sense of Oneness, it simply is. You just are…. and if someone hasn’t had that experience it is hard to explain it to them. They have to find it in themselves. Because a state of peaceful existence begins within.
So many quotes, so many words…” meditation is inaction.”.. do you believe that? There is active meditation for example when one is practicing or engrossed in working out,, dancing, focused on the moment, you are so intent on the moment, although you hear the world around you, it is lost to you in that moment. In that moment, all that is …. is where you are… and what you are doing… that is a form of meditation. That is meditation.. it is you “BEING”
usually said when a person is at the end of their rope
they have lost hope or, I can’t take it anymore,
I’ve had enough….These moments pass, but while they are being lived, everything inside feels chaotic, jumbled and turned around. The stomach is unsettled, the mood is “dark” When I was still actively working my practice, I would ask..”when is the last time you danced?” More often than not, the answer was vague, they didn’t recall it was so long ago, or it would be a straight out, “I don’t dance” Dancing is an art form, it is a form of expression, and yes, to some it comes more easily then it does for others.
To be a professional dancer, one must have a passion for the working of the body and mind, in a continuous need, desire to perform, to be able to use your body in every conceivable way to express movement, fluid and flowing, using every muscle in your body, your mind focused so that not a miniscule of energy is anywhere else but in that moment.
Our bodies are important in the managing of our health and our well-being. Dance, in whatever form it takes in your life is a necessity in maintaining a balance between the “yin” and “”yang”, negative and positive in life. You cannot have one without the other.
Even if you just reach and stretch your arms up into the sky above
or out to touch the walls on either side of you, do it with the intent to stretch out as far as you can, then slowly release, exhaling as you do, it well be such an exhilarating feeling, your body will go “wow”..
Stretching is an easy way to begin bringing more activity into your life, it is with slow small steps that we increase our awareness of the body.
Our bodies are our very own, our personal shrine for all that is divine within us.
Practice doing a dance move every day. Don’t let it slip away, do it.
Your body will be with you till the very end. Open your eyes to the need it has to survive and carry you through till you are ready to let go.
Every day, I look for inspiration for my meditation/prayer and this blog. Today I travelled to Scotland, I’ve not been personally but my sister and nephew have, both have come back with stories and pictures of a magical place.
I also found this text, by Peekytoe Crow, the picture that will follow the text is what inspired this person to write what they did. His/her words are worth sharing with you today.
People universally tend to think that happiness is a stroke of luck, something that will maybe descend upon you like fine weather if you are fortunate enough. But that’s not how happiness works. Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it. You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestations of your own blessings. And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it…
This was my next find.
Being at Peace
and being who you are … that is
Being yourself … are one.
Your only opportunity to be at peace
is Now.
Make peace with the present moment…
The secret in life, of success and happiness
is to be ONE with life…
Life is the dancer, and you are the dance.
I love being open to what the day will bring my way. Sometimes I’m ready for it, other times I may not be, but how wonderful it is that from day-to-day a new canvas, new opportunities appear. In everything we strive to do, maintain makoto (sincerity) in your heart, the Universe/God will see you through today and beyond. Always and Forever.
Sometimes I like to share with you moments that are special, and work done by other creative artists. This is such a time. We may not get to some of the wonderful vistas I share with you, but the amazing artists who took the pictures, created the music or made the videos are people who I am eternally grateful to … They bring me parts of the world I would never likely see on my own.
And YOU dear reader are part of my life, my dreams, and my adventure.
This delightful island with about 3000 residents, is a colourful sight. Its main industries are fishing and lace making, the houses were originally painted in this way so that fisherman could see their homes from sea, Practical, but for me, when I look at the wonderful array of colours i see love and harmony, especially when the sun is shining down on the community
When I first saw this picture, I had to look at it again to see if it was a painting or a picture. The yellow is so sunny, so bright and cheerful. What struck me about the place is the serenity and quiet of the place. I saw the pictures first, and then the video.
This picture with the visual inclusion of signs of life, took me right to the village, I could imagine the children playing outside, the women gathering to talk over coffee. The curtain pulled across so that the family could enjoy the fresh air and still retain their privacy. The village has been there for years and years, the lacing industry there since 1400’s. It takes tourists about 45 min. to get there by boat, Burano is an island in the Northern Venetian Lagoon, close to Venice and Murano. It is known for its brightly hued houses, We can certainly see why.
You know how I love doors. Doors are the symbol (for me) of new beginnings. I love, love, love them. Their diversity, the mystery, the adventure. It appears that in this community, I would never lack for an interesting door or doorway.
In our immediate world, the doors may not always be visible but they are there never-the-less. Watch for them,be flexible in your wanderings, dare to step outside the box and explore a new door today. or let one close, and enjoy the freedom of exploring and seeing the world with fresh eyes, eyes wiling to surrender to the joy of living, basking in the emotions of life and the myriad pleasures derived from living life to its fullest.
