What can I say, I went out without a camera, the Nikon and the Canon were left hanging on their hooks… never even entered my mind to have them with me. Then I found myself alone in the sun with two Canada Geese who were happy to spend time with me preening and dining. I got to see the underside of the bird as it dived down to forage from the lake bed. No camera and none of my photographer friends in sight. Thankfully I had my cell (Samsung) so I did manage a couple of pictures, and I took a couple of videos.. however, I have no idea how to transfer them from the phone to my PC… eventually.. I’ll get there. =^_^=
An hour on my own with them before other humans came along, and they took flight. There is something to be said about experiencing the “wild” and the natural “harmonies” that abound in nature with out the jarring sounds that humans and their “toys” make.
You’re happy. I’m happy. Have the mindset of “good for you, good for me” Express yourself in a way that makes others happy.
I was walking away from the PC, out of my office when I saw Shirley’s lastest post, she and her husband are on a road trip .. and these are a couple of pictures she shared. Living in a city like I do, a big enough city, but a city non-the-less, I would love to be able to stand by the water’s edge and look out across a vast expanse of not empty space, but not city streets, high rises and the like. instead, water, hills, open skies.
The reality is, I have been by the ocean many times, both on the east coast and west coasts of both Canada and the USA. I have known that experience, that exhilaration of looking out into “forever” .. hearing the waves rolling/crashing in. I’ve stood high on the cliffs in CA. looking down at otters playing and basking in the sun… I’ve skated the boardwalks in Venice, CA, walked the sandy beaches along the coast in Florida. that was then, not now.. and I miss it. I’ve even experienced a salmon fishing boat off the harbour in Vancouver, BC. and must not forget the smell of fish and fresh lobster when I lived in Nova Scotia.
I was going to push these feelings aside .. then realized that it is part of life, my life.,, her pictures reminded me of other moments in my life, and for a moment I felt a tug at the heart strings.
It’s OK. to remember, and its OK, to want to relive those moments, of course we can’t, BUT the memories are good, and they sure were moments well lived.
I want never to forget all the blessings in my life.
Listen carefully and speak clearly. A good relationship starts from truly understanding each other.

Sometimes, one is engulfed in a sadness or an over powering emotion that simply defies definition. There is not always a black and white solution. A caring partner/listener will do his/her best to not only listen to what is being said, but to read between the lines, about what is not being said.
The longer a friendship exists, the more the other person can understand and or relate to what their friend is going through, how much that person will actually “say out loud” and /or even acknowledge. Caring isn’t something we can pretend to do, sincerity in word/action is something that cannot be “faked”.
“Listen” and “see” with careful attention and accept each other. Focus your “eyes” and “ears” towards the expression of others without preconceived notions. Then you will be able to see their true intentions.
We are not born wise, wisdom is something we acquire as we make our way through life, some lessons learned are more thought provoking than others. Always the opportunity lies waiting, often as bold as brass, sometimes not, but always, the opportunity awaits discovery.
The other day, I picked up a small wooden puzzle of a flamingo. 22 pieces of wood that one takes apart and assembles, Everything needed is included. 2 sheets of wood with laser cut pieces ready to be pieced together. sounds simple doesn’t it.
Well not obviously to me. I saw it and thought it would be fun painted. I took the two sheets of balsa wood and thought about how best to paint it .. decided a white first coat would be good to prime it before I got fancy with the acrylic colours. FOCUSED on the painting of it, I proceeded to lavishly coat it with primer and a base of Titanium white acrylic. Set it aside to let it dry.
All you woodworking buddies out there, have you started groaning yet. Yup I did that. I was even considering if I should do colour splashes on the sheets while they were still all together on the sheet.
Not once did it enter my noggin that in so doing I would be bonding the pieces with the medium. Nor when I came to take the pieces apart, did it dawn on me to first use my knife to cut the pieces .. I have a full set of blades, several different handles, I am well prepared for such tasks, I’ve worked with wood for as long as I can remember. What was i thinking!!! OK we know the answer, I wasn’t.
Needless to say. I made a mess of things. It happens, the horror of it all struck me with a lightening punch. “Girl, where was your head”
It’s okay to think “this is where it starts” There is always a turning point. It’s important what you do from now.

Will I have the patience to try and put those pieces together, repair all the torn and broken ones, the simple reply is NO. It was an idea that came and went. I accept that I made a shambles of it. Obviously my mind was not on what I was doing, only on one part of the project. In not thinking it through first, I made a proper mess of it.
Time to go find my Canon and wander off into the day. I wish you all a very happy and productive day. Love YOU.
Obrigado, thank you PL, por me ensinar amar assim, por ver Deus dentro de mim e em quallquer lugar. for teaching me to love and to see God within me, and everywhere around.

Life is full of things to do, people to meet, places to see.. Make time in your life to explore every dimension of your SELF… it is in trying, that we grow and develop. .

Today isn’t just another day, it is Friday, and it is full of possibilities. Have a cuppa, relax and then take off, make today count. Hope you get to smile a lot.. Smile and pass it on.

When fresh snow falls, it lies clean and crisp. As the day progresses, it no longer has the same quality or look, its been walked on, trod on, run across, dropped on…. that initial moment of newness disappears with the passage of time.
No baile das nuvens no ceu
Na lue a clarear, vejo no raio e trovao, na estrela a briilhar
In the warn morning sunm in the newly fallen snow, in the thunder and lightening
and in a sudden rainbow.

PL Precept #11 Always be with God Confie todo a Dios
How many of us are spending time waiting. In my area, it seems that everyone around in different provinces or States have had their first, even some have had both of their shots. Meanwhile, we wait.
I’ve tried reading, I was as you know going out and feeding the birds, but now with the change in the weather, they are doing just fine.
Time is spent thinking, wondering when there will be a more balanced approach to how we spend our time, even catching up with friends in person, instead of by phone or virtual calls.
Even having the shot will not mean life will just return to “what it was” No, there will still be the need for masks and social distancing. Today there was segment on the radio about how the animals, especially dogs will adapt (not) when their humans return to working outside the home.
Now more than ever, we need to live being aware of the good, positive “things” “happenings” in our lives. The quote I posted yesterday, resonated with me then and even more today.
A thankful heart leads to happiness. When we really pay attention, we are surrounded by many things we can be thankful for, the society we live in, the kindness shown to us by others. You will be able to find true happiness when you can see and appreciate things.

Look forward to what’s ahead. There is no use brooding over the past. Always try to begin each day anew with a fresh outlook.
