Always applaud others as well as yourself

PL Calendar day 22  – When someone notices something you have done and praises you, you feel invigorated.  So let’s praise and applaud the efforts of others as well

Aplaudir as pessoas e a si mesmo

You coming in?

question of the day

Well hello there, and just where have you been?

Oh have I been away?

I have not heard from you or seen you?

Ah, but that doesn’t mean I have been away

I was merely playing in the present, and

yesterday got away.

You are you, others are others.

You have your own way of doing things, an others have their way of doing things.  Don’t worry about what other people will say.  Simply take care o the task at hand.

You are loved and cherished, every single moment of the day.

Smile, share the blessing of life.

the art of nothing

IMG_154711.11

While waiting for the paint to dry, I decided to take a picture, of my nothing page.  I do a lot of nothing, that is what speaks to me the most.

I will do a whole book of pages, when the mood strikes, of “nothing” art.  When I am done, I will have my very own book of “Nothing” for the month of December 2018  I ask you, What will you do for yourself, to remind you of this coming month of December.

Our thought for today (PL calendar, day 11) was to be thankful for who we are…

Tomorrow, PL Day Calendar day 12 –  Carry out what you believe in

Once you have prepared everything to the best of your ability, seize any opportunity that comes your way and take action without hesitation.  Express yourself to the fullest.

I learned a long time ago, that “nothing”was not always easy to express.  I used to call it abstract art, or expressions.  To call it art, to some was stretching it.  You dear friends, who have been on this journey with me, know that this is not the first time, you hear me speak of “nothing”   If you recall I  took pictures one summer of nothing.

All this to say, if it feels right, and it is to be your very own, create your memory your way. A picture, a doodle, story, whatever method choose to for your expression, if done with Makoto (sincerity of intention) it will be great.  There are no failures, only experiences.

Falling out of bed

IMG_9123Good morning, bom dia a todos

Does anyone know where that expression comes from? Nope not me, it is just the phrase came to me, and won’t go away. I certainly didn’t fall out of bed this morning, but instead of my usual, I think today I may be more like garlic.

Maybe it will be a salad kind of day?

PL calendar day 10

Everyone has their own unique personality —-  Each one of us possesses unique qualities.  Let’s accept and respect one another.

PL Precept #17  Grasp what is most essential

sometimes

IMG_6641Sometimes, we just sit around,

we don’t make a sound

except perhaps a burp now and then

really the day stretches on

we don’t know where the time has gone

It takes years of trial and error to develop this useful skill.  We live in a world of go, go, go.

IMG_9110Sitting with only the gentle stirrings of the world around you.

Can be a difficult task indeed.

Try bundling up and doing it in the dead of winter.

It is an amazing release of unwanted “baggage”.

Sometimes, the road that beckons isn’t the road you are on.

IMG_7574You will find that stepping into a different space, will also bring you to another place and maybe even time.

Live each moment with the interest you give a new book that has caught your fancy, where each page is riveting and you drink in each word, fingers poised to turn the page.

Our lives are just as interesting, when we sit in the silence of the moment, The reality of BEING is rejuvenating.

Sometimes, it simply is… no more..no less…

Bom dia everyone, have a good day dear friends.. I carry you in my heart always..

IMG_1512

Good morning, bom dia, at the start of another beautiful day. 8 in my world is considered a lucky number.  I just happened to have my camera ready when Nick had his back turned.  Nick is one of a pair.  Mel his beautiful and talented wife was, we soon discovered, watching us from other part of the museum where she was stuck behind a short wall.  It was my good fortune that the two decided to take a day trip up to visit. Heck they only live some 11, 12 hours away.  Let me tell you they are very special.

I got to see a lot of interesting exhibits as we wandered the museum, but the greatest gift for me was to share time with friends that I have grown to love.  They bring such caring and open sharing when they are visiting.  Every visit is like a homecoming.  The laughter is genuine, such friendships are treasured.

IMG_1515Possessions can be acquired,  They can be enjoyed and cared for, but having good friends, and time spent in warm, comforting camaraderie.  That is a blessing.  It was a wonderful visit, I thank them both.

PL calendar day 7    Don’t strain, don’t rush, and don’t be greedy

When you are doing something, you may rush things to get good results quickly.  Instead, relax and enjoy he process.

I can only imagine how as the friendship grows, we will appreciate even more our differences, and our sameness.

One of life’s lessons, to be practiced and lived  – appreciate differences, everyone is unique, share with an open heart.

Graffiti art

IMG_1123

Segunda-feira, Greetings everyone, Bom Dia – What is art?

In PL, Precept #1  Life is Art and because we believe that each individual is unique, that says that each person, will have their own creativity.  Their own way of addressing life’s opportunities, and deciding how they will express their personal creativity.

If I had cropped the above picture in a different way, it would have been simply a work of art.  Someone’s way of making a statement, expressing their “need” at the time.  Because it was done on someone elses’ property, we call it graffiti,  The person expressed themselves but at the expense of a neighbour or the city .  “Art”  in this case, the act of expression, made or makes a statement beyond the person’s creativity with a paint can, it says that this person has a disregard for his /her neighbour’s or communities property.

We all make choices, each and every moment of the day.  At the end of the day, only you know if your true intentions were expressed, or if you made choices that perhaps could have been expressed in a different way.

PL Calendar 29   Be cheerful and easy-going.  Everything has a way of turning out alright in the end.  Relax and always try to think positively

Quiet Sunday

IMG_1144

Good morning, bom Domingo   I’ve pulled up this picture again, because when I look at it, I feel a calm. It reminds me of something that I just can’t put  my finger on. *magic*  I imagine small dainty  like figures in white flowing chiffon gowns, garlands in their hair, twinkling laughter floating through the air, while they whirl and twirl to some imaginary music, that is unheard with my earth-bound hearing.  Is it an enchanted circle, could be,.

I will be doing special prayers today, for members, their families and you my friends, near and far.  When sharing with you, the enchanted circle is within reach,  we will bid farewell to the summer that was, and fly happily into the next chapter of our lives.

Love, appreciation & gratitude that is shared, is a true blessing indeed.

Oyashikiri

Go in peace today, feel the spirits of the Universe carry you forward in a halo of light.

IMG_1293

Bom Dia, Saturday has rolled around again. I thought to share some of the colours I have captured in the last few weeks of roaming

IMG_1111

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.  I couldn’t resist driving over to the other end of the parking lot to discover the myriad of colours I could see.

I am sure everyone was wondering what this elderly lady was doing behind the liquor store with her camera.  But I was having fun, and isn’t that what life is all about.

The other day I was trying to explain that I am not a photographer, but an artist that uses her camera to capture textures and moods, that I can reuse, recycle into one of my expressions.  Whatever right.. it is my fun, my hobby, and I love it.  Just like I enjoyed trekking the harvested cranberry fields the other day in the rain.

Theses are trash bins I found in Chinatown the other day. My son and I had a philosophical conversation last night about life.  It is always interesting to listen and learn from someone who has a different perspective on life.  We take turns in being the grown up.  LOL  today’s PL Calendar, says it all.

Day 27   Put all your efforts into the NOW.  You can only do your best right this moment, not in the past, not n the future, but now.

inner travels

IMG_1362

I lay watching the slow rotation of the ceiling fan, a very lazy start to the day indeed. Keeper (female whippet) lay sprawled out beside me.  She was showing her nurturing side, concerned that today might be a repeat of yesterday.

IMG_1358She gets very concerned when I cry and wail.  Velcro (male whippet) her older brother, takes it in stride, he saw and lived through my display of raw emotion, when my husband was in his final days, and Keeper got out and ran away.  Yesterday he simply got up from his favourite chair in another part of the house, to come  lie beside me, to lend me his support and quietly wait it out.

IMG_1360My son the other day, looked at me, and said, ” Mom, its OK to cry”  and of course it is, but for me, I can’t just cry, I have to be  totally shaken and depleted, the body has to over-ride my happiness and stubborn mind that tells me, that there is just so much to be thankful for.  And of course there always is, I am so blessed.

However sometimes, the sadness, and discontent of others is too much for me to bear. I feel their pain, frustrations and disillusion.  And I have learned that I cannot be happy for someone else.  You can not lift the happiness from your life, like a shawl and put it around someone else. You can be kind, listen, share in their “present state” and lend what-ever support you can.

IMG_1363

In the end, the choice belongs to them.  Yesterday I cried, all the sadness, the disappointments that I have listened to for the last many days and months, welled up and demanded to be released. I wanted escape, and freedom from the continuous onslaught of negative news, the vicious nature that is surfacing in the world around us.  The curiosity we seem to have for the gossip tabloids, that thrive by reporting or should I say offering up gossip about cheating, lying and fornication.  Where we lust instead of love.

IMG_1365Time for some time out.  Quality time without a cell phone,  computer, laptop, or tablet. There is a reason, dogs (pets) are the best of friends.  They offer unconditional love. Nothing more, nothing less.

Cherish your family and friends, offer kindness and understanding to those around you, when there is unkindness, or dishonesty aimed in your direction. Deflect it, or let it pass you by.  Life is too short.

PL Calendar, day 26        Maintain a Positive Attitude and Wisdom will                                                   come to you.
