love always

Love is a feeling, love is an emotion, love is so many things at different times of ones’ life. When I wander the woodlands, I am happy. The further along I get, the more drawn in I am to the beauty of the land around me. You have noted I often will end a visit with “love always”. Moments like the above when I stop moving, and allow the environment to surround me with its beauty, and song. I am content, I feel a sense of Oneness with my surroundings. I feel love.. Knowing such moments, allows me to love freely.

The sun shining through the trees, glistening over the water surface. Awesome.

“Let’s have a humble mind. Once you think, “That’s good enough,” you become blind to the opportunities to be more creative.

“2022/4/28 [Always use positive expressions] If you’re going to express it, let’s express it positively. If you are willing to do it instead of being reluctant to do it, you will gain a sense of fulfillment as a person. It’s more interesting and fun to be active than negative. You will be happy to express everything boldly, and you will be able to enjoy a deep sense of fulfillment, and your personality will be revealed indefinitely.” Translated in Japan to English.

love always and forever

my first owl in a tree

Ok which little owl is this?

My very first actual sighting of an owl sleeping in a tree. I can’t tell you the thrill it was for me. This little darling was used to being photographed.. the experienced photographers knew he was there, and most had already taken his/her picture. “kristoff” from Gatineau, was kind enough to point him out for me .. and show me where to stand so that I could get a clear shot. I knew from previous visits that there was an owl in a tree in that area… I had seen others gathered around getting a picture, but always there were so many I just wandered off to other areas.

Yesterday was cooler, and there were less people around. Ground was still muddy (very) from the rain and the snow of the previous days. Please if you know which owl this is.. can you you leave me his/her identification below. Much appreciated.

This was another of my host birds.. this one was at my feet, we just stood looking at one another. She/he patiently waited for me to move aside. I was the intruder.

this was not a photo lens shot, this was lower my camera and click.

I’m including this next picture, because, these critters were everywhere, if they could have pulled on pant legs for attention they would. There are big signs all over, not to feed… I simply moved on.. but they were very persistent.

Can you guess where I’m headed as soon as I finish here…. LOL… have a good day everyone..

Today’s church calendar quote…

Are you overdoing things? Not only do you harm yourself when you overdo things but you may be imposing on others as well.

into the woods I go.. till soon.

cedar waxwings

When you are standing in the pouring rain with just your cell phone, you get the shadows, my thanks to the donated photo that I found on the web by Bob Zeller. The birds were unconcerned about me, they were enjoying the rain and the day…

Inspired me to stand and just enjoy their company. The rain came down harder, I was already wet, and enthralled with their company, it was an amazing experience … I knew it was raining, the drops landed and fell around me… the woodland was alive with the song of these birds .. the jays/crows/ravens calling over head as they flew over, the woodpeckers tapping out their morning “groove” as they pecked away at their chosen tree.

There was a moment where the rain, the birds, the surroundings all just became ONE with time. I have no idea how long I was there, it didn’t matter, I was totally engaged.

Make today a memorable day. Let’s try to put our whole heart into whatever we say or do, as our unique signature.

Yes, I will be going out again this morning to retrace my steps. I know we can’t go back in time, but I can “chase” another “moment” that will become a memory worth remembering.

Wonderful Wednesday

an early morning by the water

Good Morning… ordinarily I would have cropped this picture,, I was interested in the fallen tree when i stopped to grab the picture – but when I saw it on the screen I was loath to cut away the quiet flowing water.. it was so beckoning. stretching its shimmer across to the distant shoreline. I left it. LOL my choice.

You can only change yourself. Before you start telling people how they should do things, think of how you can be more flexible.

winter white

Snow has melted, leaving the trees waiting patiently for the sun to warm the ground around them, and to release the awakening sap so that their new buds will begin to appear. Perhaps not as awe inspiring as the fall when they are wearing their autumn colours, but it is peaceful, quiet and there is an anticipation in the air. See the sign, I first showed it to you a couple of years back. By the end of this growing season, it will be interesting to see how much more it will be hidden by the growth around it.

When you face difficulties start with anything you can do. When you are able to grasp the situation, you will surely be able to notice something that you can do.

It looks so quiet, but it was anything but.. the woodlands was alive with sound and activity – yet in its own way, it is the “eternally quiet – that never is…_ https://youtu.be/1jFwdGho1IA my first time to notice and be aware of the grouse… I’d heard the sounds before, but never knew what it was.. Yesterday I was with someone who knew… what a Wow moment.

Overwhelmed – exhausted – Irritable – oh dear… sound familiar if I look back over the last couple of days, I’d say that those adjectives resonate with me. I have had a feeling that nags at me, what is it you may ask, but I cannot put A word to it. It just lingers, asked if it is negativity … I’d say no.

Happen to you? Know the feeling? I decided it was time to turn roadblocks into resources. It is OK to be tired, especially if you are on the go for hours at a time… it is OK to get annoyed, BUT it is not ok if you start wearing this irritability day in and day out.

Today’s lesson…

Express yourself clearly so others can understand you. When you can’t communicate clearly, it can lead to problems, always express yourself carefully to avoid any misunderstanding.

Perfect Liberty 2022.9

Hello! this applies not only to how we are with others, but how we communicate and listen to ourselves! Yes, be aware of YOU. I was often darn right “ugly” in my interactions with a few people the last couple of days.. Having the car banged up, upset me, having to go through all the admin stuff, calling the insurance, arranging for an estimate etc. I let my unproductive negativity affect me. Time for me to give myself a “time out”… LOL no I didn’t go sit in the corner to sit staring at a blank wall.. altho’ the people that had to deal with me and my bad mood, and terrible behaviour.. probably would have loved to shut the door on me or slam down the phone.

It was time to put the struggling behind, admit to being less than a joy to be around, and do some serious “meditation/reflection” – I was starting to see every curve ball as a crisis… a challenge instead of an opportunity.

Today’s lesson for me, is to understand my own behavior, to listen and pay attention to my own inner grumblings and do something about it. LOL yes.. that is why I went looking for wings.. time to soar into space. allow the negative debris to fall away. Clear my mind .. enjoy the vastness of the myriad possibilities today will bring.

allo! it’s Friday

how many masks do we wear during a day

recognize your thoughts and feelings.

Allow your thoughts and feelings – recognize them

investigate and ask yourself “what is the story here? am I being honest with myself?

observe but try to not get caught up in it

Processing difficult emotions can be tricky… especially when they are unpleasant .. it can overwhelm the mind. … your thoughts and feelings will come and go.. they are constantly changing all the time, like the weather. Clouds, wind, rain (weather) it is constantly changing they are happening, but they are not the sky… allow for the moment, and let it go. ie. like a cloud dissolves in the sky. Let your mind rest!

Start by thinking “Let’s do it” Once you decide to do something and put your whole heart into it, things will start moving forward.

Thursday Doors

somewhere down under – (photo Shirley Keen)

I had a day yesterday that didn’t start out well. I got hit by a taxi backing out of the lane across from where I live. Smacked right into the passenger side of my car. NOT happy. The driver had two children in the car, I heard her calling in to her dispatch, she looked both ways, she didn’t know where I came from?? hello… that is why cars have rear view mirrors … I had come out of my laneway and was on the road, ready to drive away. Because she was at fault, my insurance is handling all the details, but I will have to take the car for an estimate etc. blaaaaaa…..

Having said that, I wanted an escape.. I remembered this picture that Shirley had taken, with the red door, isn’t it the perfect little get-away… hmmm hope it has running water and electricity.. LOL I might like to escape, but I do love my creature comforts.

Think “Now is the time” instead of “it’s no use now” Don’t give up by thinking its too late. Tell yourself that there is more that can be done.

Till Soon

honk honk

The Canada Geese are back… their loud bark could be heard from the road as I drove up to Mud Lake I heard them bickering and calling out to each other.

For those of you who know this conservation area, you know how congested it can get (with humans) today it wasn’t too bad.. it was a beautiful day, the humans were spaced out, except for a couple that were watching an owl sleep, it was mostly walk by, nod, and keep going … at the bridge tho’ I met a fellow visitor who had some seed in his hand…

The birds seemed to know he was “carrying”… two of them a male and female actually stalked us, so they could get to him.. then they boldly stood and waited for him to “perform”.. I’d swear they were demanding a toll for crossing the bridge. LOL knowing they can deliver a mean bite, I stood very still while they assessed me and then moved along.

It is mating season, believe me you have never heard a demanding aggressive bird until you hear a Canada Goose defending its turf. They race across the ice, necks extended and give off the most abusive sound. I was glad I was an observer and far from the angry male …

patiently waiting while her mate chased the offending bird that dared come too close.

It was with reluctance that I left the area … there was just so much to see… the balmy weather was intoxicating – the forecast is for colder weather .. and snow later.. The birds have settled in.. another trip once the ice is gone will bring a totally different feel, and different birds.

A cheerful smile and expression makes everyone around you happy. When you do everything with a smile, not only you but the people around you will feel good. Always remember to put on a happy face.
