Gratitude fills my heart when I see pictures or read something that reminds me of friends/family, past and present who have shared time/memories in my life. As time moves along, and some memories fade … others are born and are alive in our thoughts/prayers.

Make the best use of materials and money. You can do different things as materials and money play their roles. How to make them work is important.

Most important, is to take the time to listen to your own thoughts/feelings/needs… charity begins at home. How often do you put your own “needs” aside .. because.. sometimes that is not a good enough reason… If you can’t determine or know what makes you happy .. how can you possibly expect someone else to.

It was a brilliant day. Eartha and I finally got away for our day trip to Ogdensburg, NY. We didn’t gear away till mid morning, and we actually got home early evening. Ogdensburg is about an hour’s drive from here, the border crossing was unusually quiet. We had only a couple of cars ahead of us when we crossed over into the States, and we were the only car returning to Canada when we headed back. Unusual, but appreciated, cuz we were tired.

We were only hours away from home, yet the weather, was so much milder. People were in (believe this) shorts and cut offs. Mind you they were wearing fall sweaters, some had on hoodie type sweat shirts or jackets… but the snowsuits and winter apparel seen worn when we left home. Mind you, we have just had a snow dump, as you can see from the above picture that was taken in the morning when I went out to P23 and P22 to feed the birds/crows.

While in Ogdensburg we were told about a new Asian Buffet, all you can eat, with Free Ice Cream! Guess where we had lunch. (1000 Linden St. open 7 days a week) It was different from the Asian buffets I am used to here .. I did ask, the Cook was/is Chinese. They have lunch specials for take out which is something we don’t see up here at our Asian buffets. You can also do Carry Out buffet in the States, I don’t find that here too often. And KNOCK YOUR SOCKS off prices. Here a noon day buffet at our favourite buffet is over $20 ea. for lunch .There we paid just under $20 for TWO.

Happy Sunday morning everyone.. because of the storm I missed the feeders at P22 and P23 Friday, yesterday the feeders were empty and full of snow… Guess where I am headed as soon as this post is put to bed.=^_^=

Q's Story Telling

Cookie came into SL (Second Life) February 24.2015, her first name was Cooktop…My friend who wanted to come into SL to try it… was not into spending a lot of time on a name.. So Cooktop was born. My friend did well in learning how to be an avatar, didn’t take her long to walk, sit, know how to open packages (unpack purchased items) etc.but.. it wasn’t to be, living in a virtual world has/had the same learning curves as we deal with in our day to day world. You have to want to be in the moment. Unlike the RL (real world) where you can turn off the computer and walk away.

Now 2023, avatar bodies are more sophisticated, the way clothes are made, how the creators have to adjust the clothing they make for all the different bodies -everything is different when it comes to appearances. We won’t…

Life is an accumulation of events… In my world, I encounter fallen trees, and learn to adjust and work around them, So that I can revel and enjoy the beauty of such moments as the other morning.

WHEN THE MIND WON’T STOP

How many times, how often has it happened, you are so tired, you just want to lie down and sleep… the mind just won’t stop chattering. Ok some of the information may be interesting, and a tiny wee bit may be new to you… but …. it (chatter) just won’t stop … and you are exhausted. What do you do, what can you do… nothing …

Think about it, the more you focus on it, the more attention it (chatter/noise) gets.. the more frustrated/ annoyed you get..

PL Precept # 5 One’s self is lost by being emotional

Get up,stop trying to force quiet… do something else, distract your attention, never mind the time, or trying to make something happen that isn’t happening.. Let it go!

Just walking into another room … sit down at the dining room table, have a glass of warm milk, I have a small piece of felt that I put in the back of a small canvas I had lying around that I had not put to use yet, I have five dice that sit there.. I pick them up and throw them.. I get three tries… I t ry for 5 of a kind of course, but I see what turns up. could be I will end up with only a pair .. maybe a full house.. doesn’t matter, it is the distraction, of rolling the dice, hearing them, watching for what turns up etc. A few throws and I’m usually ready to head back to bed.. the cycle is broken, the bed looks welcoming, and 7 out of 10… I will drift off to sleep. definitely I will have a different mind space.

Give importance to listening, looking, thinking, doing and speaking. Don’t be entrenched in your own thoughts … you will not hear or catch the hints/inspiration from others

Thursday Doors

I am a door. Not always pretty,, but usually functional. I come in all shapes and sizes, just like you do. You can open me, you can close me. What doesn’t usually happen, is you don’t take time to get to know me. You use me. Plain and simple, you use me at your convenience. Often I am left to endure what-ever weather comes alone, I keep you safe, do I get a thank you… seldom… how often do you simply bang me shut or slam me hard to make a point. Sometimes you even kick me. Since this a group with a focus on doors, is anyone interested in starting a Doors have feelings too.. group? Just asking.

We never know what gems we will find as we wander the paths we come across. I woke this morning to a cold, wet day, what had been rain and wet snow, temperatures here have been above normal for days, we have had no deep freeze for some time.. guess what .. temperatures are dropping, when you open the door the frigid cold snaps a sharp wet ice missile at you… the elder dog gives you a “hurry up” bark.. his tone tells you, he wants in NOW.

Sister whippet just got up .. went out and was very quick to come back… it is going to be a very different day today.. whoooppeeeee…. dress warmly.
