A change was made for about a week. instead of my solitary eggs.. (poached) I added fruit. I had a hankering for persimmons and indulged myself. Didn’t help that at T & T ( Asian grocery story,) they were only being sold by the crate. During the Chinese New Year, this fruit is much in demand.
Lesson learned. I am not a big fruit eater, love blueberries, (in season) and will have the odd apple over the course of the year, but fruit is not part of my daily diet. The lesson, one should do things in moderation…. this is a lesson, I seem to have to revisit more than I would like to.
Meet Oskar, his human sent me this picture the other day. I have yet to meet Oskar in person, he is such a charmer. A morning smile is always the best way to start the day.
Merci Oskar, than you Oskar for the smile..
Blessings everyone, have a happy productive day, service is at 10 tomorrow, see you then.
Still revisiting pictures of Sharon Springs. NY while I have my breakfast. Wondering what I’ll find this year when we head out on another road trip. I’m drawn to landscapes with a “story”, at least one that speaks to me. When I take the picture, I’m trying to capture the thoughts, or story line that came to mind when I came across the “scene” Some are just my artistic expression, of a time and space, and others are like visual bookmarks for my “gray matter”
We are all different in how we catalogue information, for me .. I know… I’m visual… my desk always looks like gremlins came in the night and tossed everything looking for hidden treasures. Of course, it is the work of my lazy mind and my easily distracted attention. Smiles sweetly, and looks up with innocent eyes. Of course I know it’s a mess… but it is my mess, and I like it. that is what having one’s own space is all about. =^_^=
Now breakfast – small bowl of steamed rice, small helping of pickled cucumber (Japanese) and one lightly poached egg (omega) on my rice.
PL Precept #2
To Live is to Express One’s Self
We will each do this in our own unique way. Life will continually present you with new moments of wonder, awe, and surprises. Some you will delight in and other’s may not charm you as much, but each and every one of the moments, are moments we are living.. and part of. It is your choice, to live happy, when challenged, find a new creative way to overcome, to surpass, and go beyond.

Jalapeno bacon, scrambled with eggs and hot chili spice, topped with another jalapeno sliced, seeds left in.
Side of calamari, battered in salt and pepper. accompanied by a garden fresh juicy tomato.
Dear reader who asked the question, would I eat this when my taste buds are not busy battling a nasty flu bug. Answer, yes and no. I am on the mend, the omelet I am eating no problem, I cannot do the sliced jalapeno even with the tomato to cool it down. The jalapeno bacon, ,hmmmm yes.. it is sooo good. I cook the bacon up on it’s on with about as many slices of jalapeno as you see in the picture. The whole package of very thinly sliced bacon goes into a wok type pan and is slowly cooked in its own juices along with the peppers.
When the bacon has simmered and cooked for about 20 minutes it is taken out with tongs and well-drained, When I cook I used the bacon for flavouring, in the mornings it is used to do up an omelet such as the one above… It is delicious, no extra seasoning is needed, but hey, go crazy with whatever you feel will grab your morning appetite.
This morning I am treating myself to a hearty breakfast since I know we will be on the road for a couple of hours. It is a beautiful autumn day, Hubby will take us for a drive, so the dogs can have a good run in the dog park by the St. Lawrence River. (body of water that runs between Canada and the United States.

It worked! good. This recipe was found on foodandwine.com I am going to add hard boiled eggs, after all it will be breakfast. =^_^= I meant to only use this one picture of food, but when I saw all the wonderful ideas using anchovies, I wanted to share them. I do recognize that there are a lot of people who do not enjoy anchovies but then, vive la difference!
Today the meditation was about beginning each new day with a renewed sense of appreciation. I looked at my desk and found a package from the anchovies I brought back from my trip to the States the other day. Hmm yum, anchovies with capers in pure olive oil, usually I get the little fillets and use them to season my cooking and for a special treat I will do them with cloves of fresh garlic and toss that over pasta with hot chilies …(see recipe below) That got my morning thoughts interested in satisfying my taste bud. I did my best to ignore Canaille’s big brown eyes looking up at me expectantly, (Canaille is our Porti, Portuguese Water Dog) it didn’t work, mindful of her empty tummy I couldn’t very well keep teasing mine with the sight and possibility of food, and not respond to my ‘baby”. so rest easy, I took time to feed the dogs.
Such is life isn’t it, we start out with good intentions, but often our thoughts are diverted, or our attention, and we need to pause and do something else. But with a purpose, if we are dedicated to the task at hand, we finish what we started, we return to our project and we pick up where we left off. The key to achieving something is to stick to it. Don’t give up! Keep at it until you’ve accomplished what you started.
Now, I’ve posted some goodies for you to enjoy, maybe you’ll be tempted too. For now, I bid you a good day, I’m off to start my day, and decide just what I will delight my taste buds with on this beautiful sunny Sunday! Blessings all.. Oyashikiri
Tomatoes with Anchovy Dressing Found on Martha Stewart.com -Martha is one of my favourite people – she is a survivor!
Grilled Potato Salad for lunch or dinner hmmmm… Grill Yukon gold potato halves and combine with a mixture of tomatoes, capers, oregano, olives, and anchovies for a Mediterranean-style potato side dish. (taken from Pinterest this morning)
This dear readers is one of my all time favourite comfort dishes. Garlic Anchovy pasta. I’ve been making it for years. I found a recipe this morning while browsing the photo credit was to Helen Rosner. I copied the receipt since if you want to try and do it, it will be helpful, I myself just wing it according to my wants and taste buds at that moment. I do use the hot chillies…yum Yup this will be a for sure later today!!! I know I know, it will be a serving for one, you’ll get something else. (Hubby does not like anchovies) =^_^=
Thanksgiving is every 21st of the month for those of us who follow the Perfect Liberty calendar/philosophy. A day we come together in prayer and community to formally give thanks for the people around us and the things provided to us by Mother Nature. It is a time to renew our intention of beginning each new day with appreciation, and to step forward with a feeling of World Peace in our heart.
To begin my day today, I used up the left over mashed potatoes and designer carrots by making a veggie ball with them, this gave me the protein since a scrambled egg was used to hold the ball together. =^_^= I accompanied the ball with diced fresh tomato and red pepper, and for added colour a few flowers of broccoli. No additional condiments were used.
