Wordless Wednesday 6/22 – textures

There is beauty in everything, one only has to look
yes, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder
=^_^=
did you know there are moments that come and go… and tho’ you don’t really recall doing something the reminder of that forgotten moment is still around.
there are times, when you just don’t know what happened, how a situation came to be. but… there it is…. and you know there is nothing that you will do to change it.
You have seen this before, but here it is again, hope springs eternal, some days, the mind functions with great effectiveness, other times, there are times, a mind that is quiet .. is best.
If you’ve read this far, I’m headed back to Japan in July, to the searing heat of a Japanese summer. Looking forward to seeing what pictures I will be able to gather, when I’m not attending a lectures, class or in prayer.

sculpture is mine, done for the garden, way back when

elephant picture?
found on the side of a road in Japan.
sometimes near a park , sometimes not
what can I say
two wild and crazy guys
traveling with us in Japan
a shop along the way
a place to pray and meditate
seen from the window of the bullet train
as we flew by on tracks of iron
as if it was yesterday
the energy and drive
remains with me today
we came from lands far away
to learn and to pray
what I found most amazing
was that these teachers spoke not one word of English
The majority of the listeners
spoke (Brazilian)Portuguese, Spanish and a very few of us English
we gathered to pray for World Peace
to this day
the energy from this last visit
drives me to work harder every day
to become a better person
one who can dedicate and focus on
living in a way to bring about
World Peace
In Japan while there, it was hot the vegetation was lush
it was growing everywhere
where ever there was space
the green buds would push their way towards the light
LOVE is what nurtures growth
LOVE is what will see us through
LOVE should be part of everything we do
LOVE is beautiful
LOVE IS YOU
PL Precept # 11 Always be with God
When I went to Japan a couple of years back for training, I landed in a heat that was smothering. I’ve been in the Florida sun, the heat of southern California, but never the relentless heat that was beating down in the area of Japan I was in for the training. I can’t recall the exact reason, but the air conditioning was not working on campus, so not only did I have to adjust to living surrounded by a strange language and more people than I am used to in a given day, I had to adapt to sleeping in Japanese dorm style accommodations.
These were the wonderful ladies from Spain, my roomies. Ana back left was the only one who spoke any English. Even with the heat, the foreign languages, somehow we all got along, and had not only a good time, we created GREAT lasting memories.
Days like today, when I start to want to complain about the heat, I think back to when we learned how to work and pull together, enjoying the moments. the heat forgotten, just the combined energy of “community” singing and encouraging each one another.
We came from all over, together we renewed our commitment to working towards World Peace. Whether in Japan, or back home. the objective is still the same, in working to be a better person, every step will lead to living with love in our hearts, and World Peace that much more of a reality.

In Ottawa, we have an area we call Hogs Back, no, sorry I don’t know why, it has just always been called that. On one side of the roadway, the water rushes, tumbles and crashes over rocks, the view and the sounds can be very exhilarating. Yet the park land around it, is tranquil, peaceful and a joy to experience.
I found this beauty parked just sitting there while driving down the highway. Obviously I couldn’t just drive by, I wanted a closer look. Usually when one is drawn to something, there is a reason, for it.
The owner was not around, I did enquire, so I couldn’t get a story on this particular car, but I did discover that this car and others that I will use over the while, belong, or are in the charge of a company called The Sports Car Factory (restoration and fabrication) how cool is that. Their address and coordinates will be found at the end of this blog.
Old cars/trucks tell a story. I love finding one, the workmanship, the detail, the lines. they aren’t merely functional, often the car will have its very own story to tell.
What we see, is not always the full story, our eyes focus and see what is before them, we will look around us, and then settle on the view that is most pleasing to us. When I visit Hogs Back, I tend to walk over to the water, I like to gaze down at the swirling mass of water that is travelling at its own pace, going along with the pull of nature, to wherever it will lead. I can’t see beyond the upper layers of cascading foam and liquid motion. But I know it is there, under the water that I see, lies another world, it is there even though I cannot see it.
The same applies to the cars. In whatever state I find them, I know that their sum total is only part of what is there. So why as a human do I often find myself accepting what appears obvious, but in reality is only 1/2 a story, or one of many possibilities.
There you are, Saturday in part, I have so much to assimilate and discover… the lens captures one second of the day, the rest will make its way to the top, sometime, somewhere along the way.
It was a great day
it made room for today

I’ve been days in trying to get this picture into a format that I could share with you. It was taken the first day out with my new camera, I was so chuffed at getting to the water where the Queen’s swans had been released for the summer touring. There they were, so lovely so elegant. Snap snap and yes they were on the camera, BUT when I got home and tried to put them on the computer…nothing.
The fault was mine, not the camera, I had not read through the instructions.. (yes, I know that there are those smiling and tsk tsk tsking now, and you know who you are) but hey, I’ve used a camera all my life, yeah yeah yeah… but not this one.
PL Principle # 7 I will not have a mind to be hasty….etc…
PL Principle # 6 I will not be stubborn, being captured by my own thoughts…
What I had managed to do, was take 3-5 seconds of movie frames.. so to actually capture the screen in a format I could put in the blog, I had to use the software Movie Maker.
Pl Principle 2 reminds me to be creative and look for shortcomings in my OWN thinking and actions.
LOL… I get a lot of practice. It may take me awhile, but I figure it out. In time, I’ll get better. I will because I want to. Paradise is where we find it.

That’s right, Xmas, snow, jingle bells, and all that glitters, that is my world the last few days as I start to prepare for the making of holiday cards for seniors and shut ins . My sister is a long time contributor to various charities and organizations, this year she was able to get my attention, for the cause, and I accepted. Yes, it is not till later in the year, but as all of you who are card artists and crafters will know, to be done, with access to supplies etc. we start now.
With shops busy with current events, such as weddings, graduations, vacations, winter is far away, and many have their Xmas/winter embellishments and card/paper stock on sale.
In some ways it is easier for me to be creative about a season that is on its way, in months to come, because I get to work in a sun filled studio with the temperature a nice seasonal 60 – 70 something degrees.
With no pressure to get something done, now….. because someone else needs it to do their part. ie. know what inventory they have so they can know how best to serve their clients. I can create and play just “chilling”
The picture of the “tree” was taken a few years back when my other sister was up from California, and we toured a “green” area not far from where we were at t he time.
These are the other hikers we met along the trail.
This is a beautiful time of the year, so much is happening in the woodlands and gardens that are waking after a long winter’s sleep. We are so fortunate for our abundance. Today’s lesson on the calendar #23 is Applaud the Makoto of others (Makoto=sincerity) When you encounter good faith or kindness in others, make sure that you acknowledge it fully.
Brinde aplausos al Makoto de las personas. Cuando recibe cordialidad y amabilidad de los otros, admirelos sin escatimar.

PL Principle #1 I will live paying careful attention, putting Makoto into all I say and do
Life is good
Happy, sunshine and joyful day to you all
