Experience the joy of change
It is truly amazing when you look back at yourself this year compared to last year, or today compared to yesterday, and realize how much you have improved and changed.

Would you, could you be happy living the simple life. We are all so used to getting unsolicited information sent to us. In this instance I’m referring to a site I used to post a lot on. Over the years it has changed and progressed in its fashion, my time and interests have gone in a different direction, I still enjoy seeing some of the pictures posted by others .. in the themes I had enjoyed BUT with photoshop etc, I have noticed that many posts I’ve seen lately have been “changed” a beautiful landscape . scenic and enjoyed for its beauty alone … has been “redone” ..ie. a shot of a mountain top surrounded by awesome landscape has now got an old derelict building on its peak.. with the caption, could you live here,, ? The house once a beauty is aged and falling apart, Nature has reclaimed part of it. it is set so that if you walk off the veranda or down the stairs you are in “space”. All I could think at the time .. was… the art, the design was thought provoking yes, but, the original art, the picture of nature in its awesome natural state .. was now marred.. and if I hadn’t known that location would I have believed the view as it was presented to me in 2024.
So much ran through my mind, on one hand I appreciated that the artist had done a good job fitting the building on the peak, but on the other hand, I felt like what was real, was being reshaped, and the viewer was being misdirected. Then I realized that with technology today and Ai (artificial intelligence) the simple fact, in all cases … is not reality but what someone (others) want us to “believe” or “see”
Back to the caravan… yes if it had a bathroom and electricity I would like to spend “some” time enjoying the simplicity of the moment for a “short” time. Even the dreamer in me, needs a sink, loo, and electricity. Life eh!
On the Banana tea*, I was asked, did it work? I think so.. the first time.. I didn’t really know, but I tried it again, using two bananas and they were riper. This I enjoyed more, it was however “sweet”.. with 2 bananas the flavour was stronger, and the texture fuller. I slept well, ( *a few posts back)
A bit of a chop suey post today, it is Friday! Have a great start to the week-end,. this is the quote of the day.
Use things for what they are meant for. Everything has a purpose. Let’s use things to their fullest potential.

The nuthatch came for breakfast yesterday, I heard his little greeting and sat with him while he made several trips to the suet balls on the tree next to me. He did sneak over to the seed and sunflowers for a peck or two in that “tray”

It has been raining these past few mornings, still the little ones come for breakfast, Photographer Jim Robertson was out the other morning, and captured these two regulars. (https://adobe.ly/3QB6AOc ) It never fails to amaze me how sweet and friendly the little critters are. The Chipmunks can be hard to see as they gather up the corn, nuts, seeds amongst the leaves. The nuthatch can be bold… but usually behaves when strangers come by,
Put Makoto even into small things, Don’t let things go with “oh well” you will have a different outcome if you put Makoto (sincerity) in all you do.

For readers who are interested in birds and live in my part of the globe.. I have been watching for the nuthatch, always a visitor to the various feeders, I have found them absent these past months. I have not seen one for at least a couple of months.. The past two winters they were always around, and I did hear them early in the season.. but not lately. If you come across one/two .. please drop me a line. Thanks.
I saw a headline the other day, “the age free life” it s not about a number, it is about energy, balance and joy. I had to ask myself how old the author of that article was, flipping through the pages, I saw that the oldest group they mentioned was 50’s. Checking the cover of the magazine I saw it was from 2016. Here we are in 2023, and not much has changed, except that the writer would now be 7 years old. In my own circle of friends I have seen the difference a few years make in not only their health, (my own included) but in their stamina and outlook on life.
Today being Ancestors day at the church, we celebrate what was, and look at what is, and we express our gratitude. In the magazine I was mentioning there was a challenge… It read, enter the gratitude challenge! what are you thankful for… I thought to send out this challenge to you, how many times do you say thank you in a day. Are you thankful for ???? what comes to mind?
Quote – “Every day you’re alive and someone loves you is a miracle” Rita Mae Brown.
Quote – ” I would maintain that Thanks are the highest form of thought and that Gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder.” G.K. Chesterton.
La vie est belle – Life is beautiful.. and one of the reasons it is, is because YOU, yes you are in it. I may not know you, and you and I may never cross paths, but you are reading this post and sharing this moment with me.. For this.. I thank YOU.
Make today a “give back day” We can live our daily lives owing to our ancestors, our elders, and the work of our predecessors. Above all, kindness for others is the best way to give back.
