Thursday doors – the door

The Door

Inspired this reaction from

one of my dearest of friends..

Is that that darn Avon lady again or is it those people pushing religion.  Don’t answer it!!
Friends are very special
each one is so unique and so good
at offering us a mirror
or a totally different perspective
to where we are at any given moment
Norm’s – Thursday Doors
is a long time favourite of mine
doors have held interest for me
as long as there has been time
What is it about doors the keeps us
all, so enchanted by their shape
construction, size, and “personalities”
inanimate they may be
but a life of their own
is often found
when we the viewer
chance upon a door that
calls out from its frame
and no way can we  just walk away
a door holds mystery
inspires imagination
today’s door
was indeed inspired by
wall paper
and thoughts of elves
fairies and woodland
gardens where
little “ones” and their
forest friends
enjoy happy days under blue skies
and thriving vegetation
the mossy carpets under foot
a perfect place to play
and while the day away.

Every picture tells a story, no two people will see the same “play”

now is now

Sometimes, when the itch comes to put  something down, you have no idea, what it is you are wanting to “say/see”  You get out your paints, canvas or whatever it is you want to work with and you simply begin .

Through the years I have learned that what works for someone else, is not going to wonk for me.  I have to listen to what is happening “inside my head”  to believe that  my instinct will guide me to what it is I need to express.

If you write, paint, draw, crochet, knit whatever it is you do to express your creativity, if try to force the flow, you are never happy with the results.

Now is now.. I will suddenly come to a halt.. I do not want to do anything else, not at the moment anyway.. When that happens, I know to stop and step back, and allow what has happened to “talk” to me, to identify itself to me.

Photography is the same way, I can take several pictures, of the same area, or object(s) yet when I review them, more often than not, it is the one I least expected to be “the” one, that will jump out at me.

Life is the very same.. every day we are presented with a new canvas, new opportunities, tomorrow I may or may not want to revisit this piece.  Some expressions, speak to my spiritual side.. other times, I’m simply OK with the results, but I feel a satisfaction of having put colour into my thought process.

Tomorrow will be the start of another “today”… what colours will you put on your palette.

Whatever you do.. do it with a smile, put your whole heart into it.  Make the most of NOW.

PL Precept # 1      Life is Art

How we express ourselves, whether on canvas or another form of expression, is us, being true to ourselves.  We are all unique, let us respect and do our best to understand the differences and challenges around us.

We are all ONE.

Native Renaissance ll

Spent a wonderful time exploring the inside of this shop.  Original sculptures, collectibles, jewelry along with music from award winning Thomas B. Maracle.  We were passing through and I didn’t get the time I needed to see everything I wanted to see.  I Understand there is also a recording studio there that I would have liked to explore, and obviously to hear music that has been produced there.  http://www.nativerenaissance.com/

What I did find there, was this wonderful painting that had been done, used for advertising (guessing)  and then left to linger in the elements, I so wanted to rescue it.. but left it for someone else to enjoy and discover.  Instead I took a picture.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.  I looked and saw “beauty”… someone else may see nothing at all, but the little otter, swimming along with his friends, the giant turtle and the pesky beaver (?) , left me wanting to know more about their journey, and the man who painted them.
