Needle felted with sheep’s wool that I sourced from shepherds in the area, back in the days when felting was not a common craft / art form in this area…. I found one shepherd who shared my passion, she is the one who had dyed the roving…. that I used for skin tones. I still have my needles and I keep a stash of roving “in case” … I get “the urge”… felting is a relaxing form of expression .. and it helps me keep in touch with “nature”. I would drive the back roads looking for sheep.. Drive up to strangers wanting to know about their charges.. how often they sheared, what did they do with the wool….

I walked the pastures, enjoyed the sheep dogs that herded the sheep, met wonderful grounded souls.. who loved the animals and the earth as much as I did.. I pray and thank the Universe regularly for the life I have been blessed with.

Its not about the quantity of friends one has, it is the quality of the friendships…. in this I am also blessed,

Needle Felting anyone. When I saw this puzzle I wanted to run to my stash and reproduce it. Felting is such a relaxing and rewarding “hobby”. Then I thought it would be fun to stitch, my sister told me about a “new” pastime called “slow stitching” I think that is what she called it? Do you know? Does it inspire you?Is it the colours or the softness, it has dimension! depth! What do you see?

Open up opportunities by being proactive.

Opportunities don’t just come knocking on the door. Use your enthusiasm and energy to bring good fortune your way.

Let’s pray for World Peace. We are all one big family. Let’s start by praying for the happiness of those around us. Live with a prayerful mind.

cold angry wind

Yup, the cooler weather has arrived. This morning I was greeted with an angry burst of wind, it was not a gentle good morning, but an aggressive, swirling slap as I opened the door to let the dogs out. There was not doubt that it was wanting to be noticed and heard as it tore across the back yard and through the evergreens out back of the neighbours.

I smiled with a deep satisfaction that yesterday I had found a nice pair of high boots with warm lining for the days ahead. Good morning I called out smiling. “I’m ready for you!” I’ve been slowly brining out my warm vests, and jackets, they’ve been cleaned and ready for the coming months. When we are prepared and ready for expected weather changes, it is so much more fun.

Like the little squirrels and chipmunks that live in the area, I have been busy stocking my larder too. There is a nice feeling of “self satisfaction” knowing that should I want to.. I can just enjoy the comforts of my home, certainly now at my age, and stage in life (semi retired) I can function at a different pace. As you can see I’ve been pulled out my felting “stuff” and have started on a little “sampler” to get my “groove” back.

Always think that “everything will work out” When you allow yourself to be pessimistic your thoughts and actions become sluggish. Approach everything optimistically without hesitating.

The joy of expression is in the process. Of course results are important but let’s not lose sight of the true joy that can be found in the actual process. Face every task with wholehearted enthusiasm.
