Friday

After the big storm we had last spring, I went in search of this ancient tree, it was still standing, but had lost some of its upper limbs. These past few days it has been so busy for me, that when I look in the mirror.. I see a reflection (kind of) looking back at me that reminds me of this tree trunk. LOL.. every line, every crevice tells a story. (yes I have a vivid imagination!) …. Just saying… when morning comes and you wake up wondering how long it will be before you can reclaim your spot in bed…

It is a busy month. Let’s ALL take a moment in the day to reflect on what this month is all about. Not tinsel and sparkle.. but JOY and GRATITUDE, Peace on Earth, Goodwill…..

Express yourself clearly so others can understand you. when you can’t communicate clearly, it can lead to problems. Always express yourself carefully to avoid any misunderstandings.

Good Morning, Bom dia!

The day is young and really not decided on what it is going to do. The forecast says rain and lots of it. In our area, there has been a lot of flooding already, this newest bit of rain could be a real disaster for many at risk communities. My prayers go out to all of you at this time.

Across the river on the Quebec side, the military has been brought in to help with the filling of sandbags and volunteers from all around are coming around donating their time. It is in such times that we see how community pulls together despite any differences at other times. Oyashikiri.

What you see above is my trying out a new product, seeing what it can do with a variety of molds or embossing/texture plates. The product used (coloured) is by Finnabair, called Icing paste (Prima marketing), It is through trial and error that I will find how it will work with my particular style of “working”. The challenge and opportunity of discovery. I love it.

Sunday Monday – Happy start of the week everyone….

Bom dia…thought to start the week off with some colour. this was a water-colour I started, it has advanced several steps since the picture, but.. that was the beginning or part of it anyway. Blending, and marrying of different colours, adding texture, and different strokes applied with changing the brush. Sometimes it works, sometimes it is a surprise.

Life is Art, (PL Precept #1) how we decide on what steps we will take, to address challenges/opportunities, will dictate the outcome. We can either accept what we “see” or take creative measures to embellish or completely change what “was”

I was happy to learn today that the 2018 PL Calendars are here, and now available. After perusing the pages, I can’t wait to begin the new year. Plan ahead, if you are wanting to be able to send them to friends, Let us know how many you would like put away for you. Let us take today’s lesson, Express Yourself Cheerfully, as a thought to carry forward into the whole week.

Remember as we begin a new week, that our relationships and the situations around us, reflect our own hearts and actions, like a mirror. When we change our surroundings, it will bring about changes for us personally too.

sometimes, the camera wants to do what it wants to do

sometimes the sunshine is so bright, you can’t see what you are taking

sometimes, you are simply intrigued by a design, texture

sometimes you hear the announcer on a radio talk show say the weirdest things.. at least to you they are, but to a different generation they seem to generate a lot of discussion. When you think about it, it is the same discussion that was taking place years ago, just different people, who have not lived through the years you did, so .. to them, it is really a big issue.

Did you know that you can burn incense sticks in this “urn” and pray to your ancestors?

This was a fairly new cemetery, markers gleamed in the sunshine. No, don’t ask, I have no idea what the writing says, I believe tho’ that the characters are Chinese.
