Good morning, since showing you a picture of my fridge door would not be as pleasing, I will introduce you to Gananoque, Ontario, a picturesque little town along the Canadian side of the St. Lawrence river, while I wait for my Lobster Bisque to cool to a temperature that is comfortable at this hour of the morning.

Back to the fridge door and the lobster bisque. I opened the fridge door at 3 something a.m. to get a glass of water, and found that the bisque lobster had tipped over and was now redecorating the interior of the fridge. Keeper (my whippet) was happy to sniff around to see if any had gotten down to her level, she always wants to help in such matters, However, since the door was already opened, and I was faced with the mess… I did what I do best in such matters I closed the door.
OK.. so I did clean up the mess up first, and while at it, instead of the water I had been in search of I had some cold bisque. Let’s face it. it is liquid and it actually was tasty. So there you have it, why bisque for breakfast. And.. a serving of doors.
A word of caution tho’ if you are going to get domestic in the wee hours, you will find that doing dishes could be one of your early morning activities. That is not a nightmare, but a morning horror.
The best timing to take action is when you notice it. When you take note of something, it is a signal from God/UNIVESE that you should take care of it right away.

MC found this door on her travels. I loved the charm of its simplicity, It seems to stand there and say, I’m here, enter if you must. I’ve done my best to give you access, but the joys lie within, IF you gain entrance. Functional and proud. A no nonsense door, solid to the core. the touch of green .. is a seed that took root and was not to be deterred. Personality plus don’t you think!!! Even the steps make a statement.
“Your surroundings are a mirror of your thoughts. When you think “This is going to be hard” then your situation will become difficult. Instead, think, “let’s do this!” and face your situation with determination. then you will be surprised to see how smoothly things go.”

“2 monks were walking along the bank of a swift river. There they met a young woman w ho could not cross alone. One of the monks picked up the young woman and carried her across the river to the other side.
Sometime much later, the other monk said to his companion, “did you forget that it is against the rules to touch a woman?” Have you forgotten the vows you have taken?”
The other monk answered, “Brother , I eft the young woman on the bank of the river once we crossed. Why are you still carrying her in your mind?” (The Irish get up and go diary 2019)

Treasures found yesterday, wonderful bricks, a sign with history, and a set of doors to a root cellar.
Does anyone know what these doors are called? I want to say trap doors, but.. I am not sure? I found wonderful doors, but will save them for Norm’s Thursday Doors.
It was misting off and on, practically all day but that didn’t stop us from enjoying ourselves. I have this lovely friend who I can always count on to get in touch at the last moment and suggest a road trip. Whooo hoooo out of the blue, we took off for an adventure that led us to a wonderful tea room in Perth, Ontario. We really did well, we got there early enough to get a table at the lace curtained table where we could enjoy the street traffic on Perth’s main street at the noon hour.
I didn’t think of it, or I would have taken pictures of the delicate china our lunch was served on, Bonnie had a fancy tea, while I stayed with my ice water.. We both tried the Thai soup, while Bonnie had a sandwich I had a wrap, all delicious. YES we both indulged in dessert. Uh huh, not telling, calories were not counted. Address will be shown below.
Doing something ..just because… can be a wonderful way to enjoy a mini vacation when none was planned.
Happiness is something that comes from within. Doing something that brings smiles and a lot of chuckling is a super way to make a dull weather day, a whole lot of fun. Good food, and great company Whoooo hoooo Katchoo.. =^_^=

Crossroads Tea Room (Perth, Ontario, Canada)

New Hampshire on an early morning walk. It is May, I’m taking my time enjoying the fresh morning air, not thinking about anything else but the moment.

Only now am getting to see some of the pictures I took during our time away. A holiday is time for me to wander, some pictures were taken with my Lumix, others with my iPhone. Slowly I will get to them, for tonight, I wanted to drop in and say hi… I’ve missed you all. It wasn’t till we were on our way back today that I gave in and bought an Acer Notebook, sorry to all you Apple peeps, I simply can’t work away on an iPad like I can a Windows/PC…

You won’t see a lot of sunshine, just a lot of fresh mountain air, and the fresh new buds of new sprouts. When the windows were open we could hear the crystal clear water cascading down the mountain side through the gorge. Looking out from out two side windows, all we saw was the drop down to the forest floor. Already the bears have started to stir, one guest who stayed in one of the back “cabin/rooms” saw a bear wandering in the wooded area, in back of the Inn a few days before we arrived. We were advised not to let our dogs off leash or unattended.

We did drive down one day into the southern part of NH, where the bigger cities are, we didn’t stay long, a few hours. that was all we needed before we high tailed it back up north into the National Forest area, where we were staying, Holidays are never long enough, but, we know we will go back, and really, I missed being home, and chatting with you. Go figure. I love my time with you. Makes me feel good. Now I’ll be able to catch up on what you all have been doing.
It is late in the day, but to all the Mother’s out there, Happy Mother’s Day.

The apostles, Great Ocean Road, Australia

If you are a fan of the mystery series out of Australia, Miss Fisher, they you will recognize, this home, as the home of Aunt Prudence.

The above is Miss Fisher’s home, the day my sister and nephew visited there were signs that they would be filming from that location later in the week. I really enjoy this series, not only for the time (period) pieces, but the wardrobe the star of the show, Miss Franny Fisher wears.
This is a time in history, where I enjoyed the architecture of the homes, and the fashions of the day. That Australia has such lovely buildings from the period would entice me at some time in the future to board a plane to see them for myself. I have seen wonderful architectural buildings from the Art Deco period on Florida..
Having a sister who loves to globe trot has its benefits =^_^=… I can appreciate she does all the packing, waiting in airports, doing tours, and jet lag. My nephew, whose photography you have enjoyed, follows in her footsteps. For now I’m content to be an armchair traveller.
Appreciate what others bring to you that enhances your delight of new experiences .. =^_^=

sometimes, the camera wants to do what it wants to do
sometimes the sunshine is so bright, you can’t see what you are taking
sometimes, you are simply intrigued by a design, texture

sometimes you hear the announcer on a radio talk show say the weirdest things.. at least to you they are, but to a different generation they seem to generate a lot of discussion. When you think about it, it is the same discussion that was taking place years ago, just different people, who have not lived through the years you did, so .. to them, it is really a big issue.

Did you know that you can burn incense sticks in this “urn” and pray to your ancestors?

This was a fairly new cemetery, markers gleamed in the sunshine. No, don’t ask, I have no idea what the writing says, I believe tho’ that the characters are Chinese.

This was my happy find. The sun on my iPhone was a darn nuisance. Where was my camera, at home of course…
Hope you had a good start to your long week=end. Working on mine =^_^=

First Impressions – we all have them, when we see something, we take it in and in seconds, we have an impression
No matter the impression, I find myself looking at the details, and the story the building tells me.
Sometimes, the impression is one that is a statement, and I “know” it is not a place that I want to visit or know too much about it. It has a facade that clearly says…”I’m here, don’t mess with me”
This oldie sat off the road, I had to get out and take a closer look, this is the back of the house. We tried to find out more about the house, it was for sale, we took the details, unfortunately, the seller, didn’t have a web site, and we were out of State by the time we were where we could look further into it. I’ve not forgotten, and given the time hope that we will discover more about the house, and the selling price.
What is the fascination, don’t really know… we are on the look out for a property in the States that we can easily get to, and tour from there. Maybe it is just a dream, its nice to be able to travel into the possibilities. Life is busy, it is nice to have a place to drift too
my travels take me to a lot of places, I thrill on them all. Each tells a story, each one is unique. I feel like that about people too. It is not what someone else tells me, it is what I “see” for myself.
The past may play a part in what a person, or place is “today”… however, we live in the now, and it is what you see and feel NOW that counts.
PL Principle #2 I will not have complaints about others, matters nor the weather. Rather I will always be creative and look for shortcomings in my own thinking and actions.
PL Principle #6 I will not be stubborn, being captured by my own thoughts.
PL Precept # 6 Efface your self conceptions.
What impression will you make on the world today?
Have a good day everyone…

Looking for a place that is welcoming and well stocked with tea.. You have come to the right place if you have discovered the TeaStore@ 53 York Street in the Byward market right in the heart of the city, minutes away from Parliament Hill, and the Rideau Shopping Center. These two ladies are regulars, they bike down on week-ends to enjoy a visit and their favourite tea and baked goodie. During the summer they are able to add the delicious fresh fruit that is abundant in the market stalls nearby. In winter they soak up the warmth inside of the shop, where they get to sit in a sunny area, either at tables or if lucky to get it the small red sofa. Cosy as all get out..!
The shop is now owned by Joshua Savoie, who obviously has done a great job in maintaining the welcoming ambiance of the shop, he is gaining new “regulars” week-days and week-ends. The young hostess that was there when I visited Saturday was very knowledgeable about the teas, and products sold in the shop. Had I had more time, I would have welcomed a lazy visit watching the activities from outside at one of the tables or inside at the big bright window. Perched at the window table =^_^=
Ahhhh and what was I doing there… this charming shop, *teastore* has started to sell the cards I make for the Perfect Liberty, Funky Monkey Boutique. As you know the FMB has a sale only 2, 3 times a year, The cards are available all year, however we are at 1010 Hunt Club (near Airport Parkway)… so that is going west on Hunt Club if you are at Bank, you turn right to go towards Airport Parkway, Riverside etc.
Remember that October 15th. we are having our fall, Funky Monkey Boutique sale, 9 a.m. 1 pm. After that it will be after church on the 21st. and by appointment. We have a lot of Diva jewelry, brand name purses, Xmas village what nots, funky bits and pieces for your Halloween outfits….some crafty items. I will have a few of the scrapbooking/card making extras there, you never know what you will find.
Don’t be disappointed, come early, there is only so much room in the FMB. What is that expression “the early bird gets the worm”…
Look at all the teas, this is just a portion of the tea being offered at the * teastore*, you can follow them on facebook and twitter, their web address is http://www.teastore.ca
Everyone loves a good cuppa tea, there is so much to explore and see on the market. and the new updated Rideau Center.. Shake the shoppers and the big price tags, wander over to the * teastore * 53 York Street, (next door to Lapointe’s) enjoy the brew and the view.
Everyday is a new beginning
