a new bud awakens

What is “normal” is different for each individual. – everyone has a different way of thinking and doing. It’s important to understand others’ feelings.

Saying Goodbye

When someone we love – travels into the Universe – on wings of air so light, only his/her memory remains

I recently learned that a special friend, was dealt a blow that sent him reeling. His life was turned upside down with the news that his son (42 years old) was no longer of this world. I can only imagine that moment of reality that he, his wife and family had to live, was not only crushing but life changing.

Myself I learned of this news only the other day, I happened on him as he wandered on the street by his home, lost, fighting for control of his feelings. With each word that fell from his lips, I felt the raw pain, saw the fight within himself for control. I was walking one of my dogs, she became very quiet, attentive and with me, she quietly gave all her attention to his words, feelings and outpouring.

It is important in this lifetime of ours to never take for granted that everything will still be the same tomorrow. Life as we know it is fragile.

PL Precept # 18 Each moment is a turning point.

There are no words to express the sadness I feel when I think of my friend and his family, and no words that I can or could offer that would ease the pain of their loss.

What I can do .. is ask each and everyone of you who can, and would, to say a prayer for all in the world who are dealing with such pain and loss… Grief has to be lived… and each and every one of us, has had to deal with sorrow at some time in our lives. Prayer is a powerful tool. let us take a few minutes in our day, to say a prayer for all the families in this world who at this time are dealing with a situation that is difficult and hard to bare.. but live with it they must, till time helps ease the pain.

Today in the little bird garden, I asked each bird to carry a prayer into the skies.. that would carry love and healing energy to all who need it.

Monday Monday

new comers to the dining area

The temperature has dropped. Last week we hit record highs, this deep drop in the temperature has made the house feel cold Brrrr. With the change in the weather, we’re seeing new birds in the area… What I have noticed is that last week when the weather was balmy, there were birds signing in the front and backyard. Since yesterday when the temperature began to dip, no singing. This morning all is silent too. Wonder what it will be like when I get out to Dewberry and Mer Bleue.

took this back in 2016, I have better cameras now.. but won’t find this location nor will the birds be sitting there! =^_^=

Perceiving equals doing – Each time you notice something, it is a gift from God. Don’t miss this opportunity to act.

Have a great start to the day. Here it is clear and bright… …. no matter the weather, make the world around you shine!

It is interesting as I look back at pictures I took years ago, (going through old files) I can see the difference in my method of taking a picture and the differences between the various cameras I had. One thing is consistent, they all bring back a “memory” of another time and place.

Sunday musing

2016 NY State
when there is a will, there is a way
the more I learn – the less I know
What I see today, in that one moment, will disappear as soon as I move away

-p.s. – I think of myself as being without discrimination – however today, when sea gulls joined the crows at the table, I actually wanted to shoo them away. – the lessons I am learning are very “thought provoking” (btw I did not act.. but I did take note of my reaction.)

Time change?

HAVE YOU REMEMBERED TO CHANGE THE CLOCKS.. we move an hour ahead today!

NO! Go away
LET ME SLEEP!
WE SAY….TIME TO GET UP

Why is it, any other time getting up at this time is no problem… because we had to set out clocks ahead one hour, this morning, I didn’t want to know about getting up…

YOU CAN DO THIS!

meet Ed

can you see the darling owl? Isn’t this just the cutest picture..

Every day brings new beginnings… today was no exception. It was my pleasure to meet a wandering photographer, who came over to say hello. When he showed me this precious picture, I was thrilled when he offered to share some of his creativity with us. Thank you Ed.. (Ed Hodgins)

Tomorrow (Sunday 14th) service will be at 10 a.m. * remember tonight we move the clocks ahead one hour*

Have a “let’s do it” attitude. Even if a task is difficult, keep in mind it is given by God and accomplish it.

Saturday 13th

red wing blackbird

Yesterday we had visitors at the feeders. I first caught sight of the red wing blackbird in the morning ..at Dewberry, they were shy, cautious.. staying well off while I refilled the feeders. I was happy to see that the female Grosbeaks that have been there .. were still there, they were patiently waiting .. since I had missed the previous day, they were keen for the sunflower seeds to put out. they didn’t waste anytime getting to the “tables”. It wasn’t long before the happy melodies of contentment was the filling the area.

They were in greater number at Mer Bleue, Kevin who was at the feeders later in the day, saw them too. Don’t know how long they will stay, the milder weather of the past week, brought them to the area. They like marshland which the bog will give them the environment they enjoy, but today the temperatures have dropped. It is around the freezing mark, and it will drop further before the day is out.

We are all wonderful in our own way. Although results are important your effort is what is truly precious.

The next piece, I found on a friends site, be aware, it is “edgy”

benefits of horse manure

It has been scientifically proven that horse manure protects you. Take the fresh horse manure and rub your hands with it. It has the following actions. 1. it prevents you touching your nose, eyes and mouth.

2. people will keep at least 6 ft. away from you.

3. no one will want to shake your hand

4. you will safely wash your hands before going to lunch,

OK.. not my usual offerings.. however, it is Friday!

Let’s begin today with a smile. Let’s start the day with a positive outlook, looking forward to what we can discover.

Should you have picked Pub 101, this is a sampling of the delicious food you can enjoy while visiting the establishment, It has good reviews and is situated in the heart of the tourist area in downtown Ottawa. just saying, should anyone be hungry =^_^=

For the writers in the group, each one of the above doors tells a story. Some doors were found in the States, the rest are in Canada … There isn’t anywhere one can go without finding an “interesting” door.
