Ancestors Day

fabric friend got for her

Perfect Liberty Calendar … day 11

Appreciate the Makoto (sincerity) of the people who came before you

Everything we have today was built upon the hard work of our ancestors and the people who came before us.  Always remember to be thankful and humble and continue to build on their past successes.

The bright colourful fabric you see was purchased and collected by a friend of my sister’s while on a shopping outing.  I never met this friend, only heard of her through my sister. I was however, really taken by her selection of fabric, the choices she made, and the colours she was drawn to.  This friend passed away last week, leaving a gigantic hole in the lives of her family and friends. It was sudden, no warnings, simply a chill, and she was gone.

We never know in life when a change will be made in our circle of friends and loved ones.  It happens, life is what it is.

Perfect Liberty Principle #2 –  I will not have complaints about others, matters, nor the weather.  Rather I will always be creative and will look for shortcomings in my own thinking and actions.

Day 8 PL Calendar

First, accept everything

Life is filled with moments, sometimes happy and at times inconvenient.  It is important to first accept every situation as it occurs and try to accept and understand it for what it is.

Stash

stash feb 2

Good morning everyone, Bom Dia!!!

Stash, supplies, whatever we call our treasures that we collect  because we are attracted to them or find a simple pleasure in adding them to our collection.  Some have a small stash, and others of us, have hmmm let us say, a large variety of collections that we will do something with “some day” or eventually. =^_^=

Having spent the last year or so, in de-clutter mode, I can now more readily see what I have, and what I have ended up I find really interesting.  When I came home yesterday from another adventure through a snow blown countryside.  I saw that I had a lot of products from suppliers that were rich, vibrant and totally statement artists.

Even though the weather to most was a real “drag” if they were on the road trying to get somewhere, but for me and my charming companion, it was an “afternoon stroll”  Leisurely and fun, missing were the tea cups and small sandwiches.  Instead we rolled safely along in our cozy environment and caught up.  Part of the drive we were escorted by two huge city trucks clearing the highway in front of us.

The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.  Eleanor Roosevelt

Perfect Liberty calendar day 3     Instead of worrying do something about it

It doesn’t help to over think situations such as “what if this happens?” or “things might end up that way”  Instead, be proactive and change how you see and do things in each situation.

bed lump

img_1722bedlumpA bed lump happens when your dog insists on helping make the bed.  Eventually I made it around and over her.  All I had was a lump, but then she got out, and left me with this. img_1721Before I could straighten up the mess.  Her brother took over her job of helping.  There he is calming cleaning himself up after his breakfast.  No hurry to move, and not concerned that he could be delaying my progress.  For my readers who share their homes with four-legged bundles of energy, you know that it is often such moments that can be endearing or…. trying on one’s patience.

Whether it is a loved one, a friend, a co-worker or total stranger, there is seldom a day that will go by when our “personal” agenda is not presented with a hiccup.

In PL, Principle #3…. I will live with a mind of appreciation towards others and things, and Principle # 5  .. I will not get angry at anyone or anything, are mantras I repeat during the day.

Precept # 15  All is a mirror.    How often in a day, does my behaviour, or something I say or do, cause someone else to pause.

My Mother used to say, ” it is not always about you”.  Over the years I have had many occasion to meditate on my actions, and the world around me, and how I react to it.  After all, Dad would say ” the choice is yours, you can let others dictate your mood/happiness, or your can know and appreciate your worth, let go and move on.’

A philosophical morning, you bet!.. to friends in Michigan, is deWitt, or Lansing somewhere that I can get to easily?

For those of you coming to church this morning, I will see you at church.  If you are unable to be with us in person, please say a silent prayer for World Peace.  Today is Feb. 1st.  the first day of the month.  Day of Peace service will begin at 10 a.m.

Have a grand day everyone, may it be a productive and rewarding day for you.

Hula Hamster JOY

hula hamster xyThis precious handmade hamster, makes my heart sing.  She puts a smile in my heart just by sitting there smiling back at me.

hula hamster xThe last few days have been difficult for me.  I have found myself drifting into a state of “low drive and little interest ”   When I could I retreated to my bed,  the quiet of a darkened room and the desire to sleep.  My sleep mates were only too happy to crawl under cover and enjoy time out from the weather that was raging outside.

Today I had to go out, there were errands that needed doing, so after a lazy start to the day, I took myself off to do what needed doing.  When I arrived at the church I was surprised with JOY, the adorable Hula Hamster.  Oh what a gift.  I melted and was totally taken in by her charm.

Loving caring friendships are priceless.  JOY lifted me out of the shadows , back into the sunshine.  Olinda weaved a magic spell,   I am blown away. Thank you.  I am reminded that in life,  in a split second, the sun can break through the clouds, and all is right again.

hula hamster joyI am so blessed.  The Universe always comes through for me, when I allow myself to stumble, my friends are there reminding me, that LOVE, is always with me.  God is Love, Love is GOD and we are all ONE

Finding a balance between past and the present. – Find a good balance between your present and past experiences.

Appreciate the strengths as well as the shortcoming in others.

and today’s thought.. PL. day 23rd.  Once you’ve set out to do something, it is your job.  If you accept a task, made the choice, took the option, whatever, own it.

In PL we believe that when things happen to us, always there is a meaning, or a reason, our actions, behaviours brought us to the/that moment.

buddha waits 2We are not cast in stone, we are not without feelings, nor are we unaffected by the world around us.  Change is the only constant in life, each day, each day, brings a new NOW.

Hello, bonjour, bom dia, and jumping jack greetings to each and every one of you.  Another new year is just around the corner,  In China the airports, train stations, all methods of travel really, are homeward bound.  It is exciting, and alive time.  Seeing friends and family sharing huge family meals, and gatherings.

Since my Mother’s passing and for several years before she actually passed, the Chinese New Year  came and went with a happy conversation and a small sparkle.  She was unable to get to the various celebrations held around the city or at the Chinese Embassy. Since I can remember, Chinese New Year has been the BIG turning point for me.  I remember as a child the banquet and feasts, the dragon dances, fire crackers and the many many ritual tasks that were preformed to make sure we started the new year off with gratitude for the past year and much appreciation for the wonderful time ahead.  Good fortune, Prosperity wishes were everywhere.  Red envelopes, special candies,  Happy New Year greetings always included the wish that your life be blessed with good health.

With my husband’s passing last year I wanted more than ever for this transition into another year to be auspicious and filled with the many joys and encouragements we would share to be 100 fold.  I worked on a year of the pig mixed media piece so that I would be actively piecing together elements that would be like a visual firecracker for me.  The lunar new year depending on where you live, is o the 5th. of February.

Ps… my little wheel around the pig.  spins.

Reminder.. due to the storm and the broken water pipe, there will be no service today, but Thanksgiving service is still scheduled for tomorrow evening at 7 pm.

PL calendar day 20

Find a good balance between your present and past experiences.  Without forgetting your original intent, continue to develop your own path by also relying on your knowledge and experience.

I came home today to find a beautiful floral piece with miniature fairy lights.  The lights  twinkle and dance merrily in their space.  The display is  magical. Even on the grayest of days, they will be an inspiration.  =^_^=

PL Precept #1  Life is Art

Thursday doors

Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life; not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens,   Kahlil Gibran
2014d

“A man should never be ashamed to own he has been in the wrong, which is but saying, in other wisdom that he is wiser today, than he was yesterday”.  Alexander Pope

This picture was taken on a day trip exploring the back roads in the Gatineau Hills,  We never know what we will find when we turn a corner, or turn left instead of right.

Yesterday I was driving along  with clear blue skies when I came to a red light.  Instead of going left I went right and drove right into dark gray clouds, driving winds, and hail. In an instant the world went from, what a beautiful day, to Whoa!!! hello adventure.  Such is life.  For 15, 20 minutes or so, we drove in a gray snow blind. Barely able to see the road ahead. Then as quickly as it came, the storm left us.

Life is full of surprises, and how we accept and deal with them, is our choice.  Have a great day everyone.  Visit Norm’s blog for a link to more doors. Norm 2.0
