mourning – Ancestors day

a lighthouse in the rain

My mind still talks to you

my heart still looks for you

My soul knows you are at peace

I thank God for having had you

but I still miss you so much!

My niece knew yesterday that I was in having a difficult time… she sent me this quote she found on all-great quotes.com.  I saw it only this morning.  and yes, the above is  all so true.

Ancestors day is celebrated on the 11th of every month in PL   Today is the 11th. Service is at 10 a.m.

PL calendar day 11 – Remember to be thankful and humble.  Appreciate the Makoto (sincerity) of the people who came before you.

But let there be spaces in your togetherness and let the winds of the heavens dance between you.  Love one another but make not a bond of love.  Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls   Khalil Gibran

Thanksgiving

Bom dia, good morning..

The 21st is drawing near. There is a long week-end coming up.  For those of you celebrating Easter, enjoy your time with family and friends.  It is a special week-end.  In PL we celebrate Thanksgiving on the 21st.

The Thanksgiving service is the 21st of each month.  It is the most important service of the month.  This Sunday will be a very positive and prayer filled day.  Our church here in Ottawa will hold service at 10 a.m. and again at 7 pm.  All are welcome.

Today – PL Calendar day 18

Things have a way of getting more complicated when you procrastinate.  Work on taking immediate action and you will discover many ways to tackle the situation.

silver

There is something very mystical about silver, you can polish it to a  brilliant shine, yet as it lives with you, it takes on a patina of its own.  lately I’ve been cleaning a lot of jewelry for the church’s Funky Monkey Boutique. a tired old piece of jewelry can come alive with a cleaning and some TLC. (Tender Loving Care).  In fact what appeared to be old metal when cleaned was seen to be a lovely piece of silver that had tarnished so much over the years,  it had taken on a totally different look.

The moon itself is  a wonder of beauty that is always giving us a new face to see and rediscover,  Nature is forever in the state of change, and so are we. Each change brings a new dimension to our lives.  We can waste time and energy trying to redo or stop the change, but the reality is we can’t go back.  When we appreciate our lives for what it is at the very moment we are living it,   We are well on our way to finding a peaceful way of existence.

Silver is associated with the moon, it  symbolizes the night, the ‘Yin” side of life.  It is a beautiful precious metal,to maintain its glow it needs to be worn, and tended to.  So do our spirits, our minds, our bodies……… like the moon, we shine bright, we wax, we wane.  Attending church/temple/shrine, is one way of polishing and working on our “shine”.   Finding ways to stay in “tune” “touch” with our spiritual needs is important…. Today being Thanksgiving in PL, we gave thanks for the blessings of the month as well as for the past year.

light your way to where it is bright,

so that your entry into the new year will be filled with light.

A celebration that is sure to delight…

I wish with all my heart and might…

That your dreams come true for you this night.

Celebration of Life (yaya)

Celebration of Life (yaya)

I’ve just come from a memorial for a dear friend, we were so many that many of us had to stand and listen from another room. One friend was there from California, another from Sweden, it is sad in a way that it is the passing of a friend that brings us all together.
Yaya was a loving energy that made everyone she interacted with feel special. IF she could help she would, and always, she was positive and encouraging. She embodied the teachings of PL. She lived them naturally.
Her energy and selfless giving was tireless. No one except her very closest of friends, knew just how sick she was or how often she battled physical discomforts.

RIP YaYa you will be forever in our hearts

In PL we say, artistic expressions are what makes our lives  a work of art. YaYa was a work of art to be celebrated!
