When the mind is busy – not really doing a lot, wheels are spinning the pen and hand doodle. shapes, faces, eyes, brows, profile,chin, eye lashes – doodling a me pastime.

yoda 3 Good morning, bom dia, a quick doodle, or sketch this morning, of a little character that has caught my fancy. You may or may not recognize Yoda, he was brave and intelligent, I like those characteristics. Above all I appreciate creativity and how when it is used for good, can do so much of a positive nature to the world around us.

Lately I have had to turn my attention away from watching media that (in my view) is negative and confrontational. We seem to no longer promote or share stories of goodwill, and /or positive interactions between the people who live on this planet. We seem to see only politics, religions (all man-made) and use them to batter the people who make up our communities. Our neighbours, friends, family, coworkers, why is it always, we against they/them, even within small units of people.

Watch the shift that will come, as the holiday season approaches, and the marketing goes into full gear. Then goodwill towards all will be played in the malls, over the media. glittering and shiny new toys and household gadgets will appear, Spend spend spend, then you will be happy…..right, till the bills come in

Yoda where are you, we need you now.. where are you with your clone troopers, come out of the fiction, we need you here and now. Evil isn’t in the skies and outer worlds, it is here, living amongst us now,

oh dear, oh dear, I am having a rant. quick my coffee, get me to a store so I can shop, change my focus…… unfortunately that is a temporary distraction. I still believe we need a Yoda. What do you think?

PL Principle #2 I will not have complaints about others,matters,nor the weather. Rather I will always be creativce and will look for shortcomings in my own thinking and actions.

Obviously this will be my mantra for today. Blessings all, huge hugs.

meat and spuds 7.20.18

Left overs for breakfast some like it hot.. which it was first time around… but this I had chilled. Nice way to start a day.

cartoon dog This is what happens when you start to doodle a mouse, but are not really into it. distraction – big time – I was using charcoal, the actual piece (still at the church) is different, I used scotch tape to remove shading in place. I sent it around to friends, but got no reaction to “what happened” .. ok that’s not true, because they all answered something completely different .. and not related to the picture I had included

Distraction? We have a tendency to read sometimes., actually we glance at it, and then respond. OK OK not all the time.. but often. I do it, and I know I’m not alone. The only reason I worked at not doing it, was because I had a husband who having been an editor, was patient and consistent at pointing out to me how often people in his “circle” didn’t answer a question, or completely misread his missive. He was especially hard on the journalist he worked with. We won’t go into when he was doing government contracts.

Why do we skip over material, I have discovered that I have begun to skip over pages in a book when it gets boring. Or, the writer is taking to long to get me to where I want to go. How unfocused is that?

mice See I do know what a mouse looks like… I was going to doodle another mouse. like duh! DISTRACTION..

I’m suffering from Not In My BackYard…..symptoms…. torn…. church members and friends are being so helpful. I’ve gotten some good ideas. There are actually videos on YouTube. !!!! I’m learning something new every day.

zen tangle mini 3.4.18 When we begin, there is only one line, by the time we have done, we are looking at what these days is called a Zentangle.

I take my time, and use no end in mind, nor do I try to contemplate design, or a theme. It is relaxation for me, so I simply allow myself to doodle.

Last night I began to colour in the various spaces. Leaning towards greens, I don’t try for perfection, and I don’t really try to stay within the lines. I will be interested in seeing IF I finish this “expression”, or will I let it lie on my desk, forgotten, waiting for me to “catch” the “mood” again. If and when it is finished, will it look anything like it started out. That is the beauty of these doodles. They allow, the mind to wander, and the hands to stray.

Mid week already. Hope you have all had a good start to the week, and that today, will be a “stunner” I challenged myself to do something creative every day. Sunday I tried my hand at Origami
