Lego reality

Meet the Lego Harry Potter Fantastic Beasts Mini figures, this set can be purchased retail. In it you get the complete set of 22 Factory sealed character pieces. If you decide not to invest in the whole set, and try your luck at purchasing individually, then you have to take your chances and purchase a single pack, for 3.99 and hope you get the hero that you want. Otherwise you keep trying. I believe that the set in Canadian dollars is about 180$ give or take.

The figures are rather cute, the collector that I am thought, I want one. I liked the figure third from the left, front row. My first bag, I got Harry himself along with his owl, my second try I got #11 (yes they are numbered,) the character with the red hair and green uniform holding a tea cup. 2nd row, to the right of the other figure I would like, the one with the pointed ears.

My next bag I tore open to find that I got #6, he is standing behind the one I want, in the back row with the green plant. So far three tries, and each one is 3.99 with tax. Do you see where I am going with this. By the time I am done, trying to get the two or three that I want, I will likely end up paying for the cost of the full set. but then what do I do with the other figures?

They are darn cute, I see the attraction, my reality is, with arthritic fingers, and often diabetic numbness that visits these same fingers…. I ask myself if this is a collection that I really really want to start playing with. Of course the one option is that I find others who would want to trade. LOL.. somehow I think that the age group I usually “play” with, won’t have any interest in mini Lego figures.

Oh!!! I was smitten by the dragon and figures in Lego #75951 (Fantastic Beasts) why? One figure looks like a Chinese magistrate, and the other is a an older character who looks dignified with his white hair. Grindelwald’s Escape, it is 132 pieces, suggested for ages 7-14. Take the hyphen away and turn the numbers around, maybe…… the characters are Gellert Grindelwald, and the other is Seraphina Picquery I did get it, how long will it take for me to put 132 small pieces together. It is anyone’s guess. =^_^= will I try?

pomegranate paint October has arrived… Outubro 1… Bom dia

Yesterday I went in search of a colour of paint that would mix well with what I had to enhance the suggestion of blood. Dried blood. Luckily where I shop there is always someone to help and with my cohort Little Piglet, we spent a happy hour browsing and shopping. I know it is not often someone comes in looking for blood, but Isabelle, at Scrap En Mass (Alfred, Ontario) was up to the task. When you shop with a goal in mind, you are more easily able to describe what you want.

The ambience of the place is also a factor, the display of merchandise, the overall sense of creativity and fun that is generated by other customers. The time spent searching out, then playing with the items later, is always an interlude, that passes quickly, it is refreshing.

Greetings on Sunday

fright drucilla May the day shine brightly for you. Sunday and we are not having a service this morning, because of the service last evening. What does one do on a Sunday morning, when there is no service. I to Drucilla’s displeasure, decided to play with my paint and other supplies to start on a makeover for her. I have told her that this is therapeutic for both of us, but her silence tells me, …. it is all in my head.

Tomorrow begins another month. October. The leaves have started to change, when driving the back roads yesterday, I saw more sights of reds peaking through the evergreens. Actually not only the various shades of red, but the yellow orange hue were also taking over the fresh greens of the summer. The camera buffs who have been slumbering through the sweltering summer, will be polishing off their lenses to take full advantage of the fall display that will soon be in full bloom. I confess, I love, LOVE the autumn season, here in Canada where we get four different seasons, the fall months tantalize and delight me.

With that in mind I will be on the watch this morning, for “something” to catch my “eye” while I am out driving along the river, into rural Ontario. Some time, when you are inclined to do so, you must tell me how you mange to drive and “catch” that perfect moment, when there is other traffic on the road… =^_^=

If I could make this lesson, flash with neon lights, I would do so, I think the mice are back, or trying to come back in As you know, it took a long time to rid this house of the little “devils”…. So! mon ami, it looks like we will again, take on the capturing of mice.

I have spent my evenings with Poirot (Agatha Christie} audio books, so delightful!

Reasons

Bom dia..

Sim yes, my inspiration today is the bark of this tree. There is something about textures that appeals to me, I paint using textures, I create a lot of “art” dimensional, I have never analyzed why, I just like it. After a painting dries, I will close my eyes and gently run my fingers over the canvas to discover its hidden delights.

After years of trying to take in all of what I am seeing, I know that I can see a lot of things at one time, some details will stay with me, some won’t. So much like I did here, where I focused my lens on one area of the tree, I do that with life. I don’t ignore the rest of the picture, but when I see something that is of interest, then I delight in discovering what it is that is communicating with me.

If you are a photographer, you know we can walk by a landscape a zillion times, then one day, the lighting is just right, shades dance across our vista, and wow, we “see” an amazing sight. Just like walking out your back or front door, is different every time you walk into the “outside”. hmmm did she mean to say it that way.. yes I did =^_^=

Same day, same place, same time of day give or take, but a different tree. Each had its very own appeal to me. “that day” I suspect if I went back today, I couldn’t find them again. Thus the harping on… live each day to your fullest, today is today, and tomorrow will be a new beginning.

After going on about “observation” I will share with you an incident this morning. I washed my hair (I know exciting stuff) as I was towelling my hair I looked down and wondered what was sticking to my night “dress”. Hello I found the “bleeding” thing has a pocket. No, I didn’t know, and again no, it isn’t new. So you can see what I wear to sleep and around the house, does not get the attention I give to other areas in my life. Oh dear! I am human after all. sigh.

With that, I will wish you all good cheer, make the most of today, I am off to enjoy mine. Thanks for sharing this brief interlude with me.

Thursday Doors – 9.20

Charm of days gone by. There is so much to take in when you travel a back road. You have to know that you will not get anywhere fast, you simply accept the moments of discovery. This was the scene that beckoned loud enough for me to stop and actually get out. It is aged, tired and worn, but yet it is standing proud. Wind, snow, ice, rain, yes they have left their mark, but the place, for me , still had a quiet dignity. It stood, just off a paved road, but the surrounding land, was rich and bore the remnants of a bountiful crop.

I left today, open to the possibilities, and the Universe provided “seek and you shall find” PL Precept #1 Life is Art

The day was a happy one, and totally productive in a very creative way. I hope you enjoyed the same.

I am the little yellow flower in the picture above. I was out being spoiled with another special outing. One of my dearest friends had arranged with me weeks ago, for us to celebrate yesterday. Celebrate we did. It was a full day of shopping and exploring, ending with a fabulous dinner at the Mandarin, (Asian buffet)

Yesterday, Eartha drove, she was my hostess with the mostess. Then last night as I lay basking in the events of the day, I imagined this picture, and my being the yellow flower, surrounded by people, events with the world going on all around me. I had a feeling that I had missed something, and it nagged me. So much so that this morning, I sat down to meditate on “it”

The rest of todays calendar message says… Procrastinating will only weigh you down. The best time to do something is when you notice it. You will feel lighter both physically and spiritually.

Whatever is niggling at me, took place yesterday, obviously I was too surrounded by outside energies and activities. It was a special day, and thanks to Eartha sneaking in a surprise on me, I have a memento of our time, that I am able to put on the fridge (a picture of us that the Mandarin presents to us in the form of a magnet) A cherished souvenir!

Sometimes in life, we are so busy living, we miss something else, that moment is gone, so begin TODAY with Makoto (sincerity and focus).

Chop Suey Tuesday 18th

oct journal page Happy September 18th everyone.

First I want to thank you all or your birthday wishes. I was away for a birthday outing yesterday, when I came back I was overwhelmed by all the messages and good wishes. Wow, it is going to be super awesome year, I have been jet propelled into a new year. I am truly blessed, I say thank you each and every day!

While some look for pristine, blank pages, I work at making mine look old, and sometimes, like here, I strive to make rust, and dirty a page, this is my playtime. Yesterday was spent visiting places in west of downtown Montreal, looking for paint, inks, and any and all other artistic, creative tools, to be found, It was an all day event that I got to share with two like-minded friends, needless to say, it was a lot of fun.

Every person is unique, we each and every one of us, expresses ourselves in our own way. What rocks one person, can be a total turn off to the other, yet when we are on a search and find mission, the enthusiasm of the other person’s excitement when they have found something that has fired up their enthusiasm for their craft, that is catching. It is smiles all around.

In our travels as we headed back towards Ottawa, I found Catnip who I knew would be perfect for my October Fright journal.

Sharing happiness with friends is a blessing. What better way to share a birthday celebration, Catnip will always remind me that my 2018 birthday was not only great. It lasted for days, Today I am off on another adventure.

Thursday Doors

Thursday doors is a feature of Norm’s blog Norm 2.0, I really love to be able to share, my love of doors, these were solid and welcoming even if somewhat stern.

The next two pictures were taken in the town of Rockland itself, didn’t get the doors up close, I enjoyed the possibilities from my bench on the other side of the street, a lot of traffic for a small town, but did manage one of the former manse without a moving vehicle. Nice way to spend a sunny day. Lounging =^_^=

Once you’ve prepared everything to the best of your ability seize any opportunity that comes your way, take action without hesitation. Express yourself to the fullest.

The world is not only full of colour, but provides us with an abundance of textures, variation on shades and so much more, Yes there is beauty in a flower, but the subtle shading of the vegetation that often is the back drop for a flower(s), is more lasting, and enduring. Changing with the season we can never be bored. We need to see beyond transient beauty. The icing though good, and often very pretty, would be nothing without the cake. It exists because of the cake.
