Accept Everything with Appreciation

IMG_1573

The morning sun coming in through the sunroom windows

caught and filtered by the coloured glass

gives each item it’s very own aura

When we show appreciation in life

for all that comes our way

the positive energy of God

will give each of us our own unique

aura, we will radiate

with the blessing of love and light

our bodies will return to the earth

we will be free

but often the results of our actions in life

will have had an effect, or changed the course

of another’s life

it is important to remember that each action,

will have, or bring about,

a responding  action

sometimes positive, sometimes not.

A cul du sac, all on its own could be seen from the highway, had to go back.  I felt such a strong draw … such a sense of abandonment from a place that had once had such a wonderful exciting and vibrant life.  The architecture of the houses with the faux fronts.. loved them.

A blessing and silent prayer for all of you today

sheep crossing

Yes, today is Tuesday, and we are once again, taking to the roads,

off to somewhere, where we have not been in a while,

and some places, we’ve never been at all.

No, we won’t be gone long

just long enough to change the channel in our minds

we don’t really plan, we determine a direction

and a few of the stops we’d like to make

along the way

if it should work out that we

find such a place along the way

motor bike

not just on the 17 of May

but really, any day, should be one of exploration

or discoveries

for honestly, we really do get to explore our boundaries

each and every day

if you always go right

perhaps see what happens when you turn left

it could be as simple as crossing a street

Till soon then,

we will be back by end of day

I’m off to play

Have a great and happy day!

Baked egg rolls using spring roll skins.  Why because we couldn’t find egg roll skins

lean beef – 1  lb

napa greens cut into thin slices ( use cabbage if you prefer)

yellow or white onion also cut into thin slices

garlic to taste

I used two types, minced and the garlic leek stems

season with garlic and black bean sauce to taste

I used steamed broccoli because I had it, and I like the extra greens.

if you like spice, you can add  sriracha

simmer till cooked

drain well, set aside to cool

roll and lay out on a lightly greased pan

bake @ 350, check it to ensure they don’t brown too quickly

a slow bake makes them crunchy ( approx. 20 min.)

I did turn them once, then put them back in for another 5 minutes

not eaten with a sweet sauce

prefer ginger and soya

sriracha mayo is good too

keep it light and enjoy

Sunday morning found me standing in gales of wind, trying to capture this beauty without being blown away.  A chain like fence wasn’t making it easier for me, but I wanted to capture the iron bird waiting to fly.

DSC00390

A different plane stood by, they both looked like the were waiting.  I searched the area for signs of life, there were vehicles in the parking lot, but no signs of humans.  This training field is near the Asian grocers where I shop, so I do often see small planes waiting for their next chance to soar up into the clouds.  I had a service to be at, so didn’t get to stand around, one day I’ll have the timing right, meanwhile, I will enjoy them at rest.

A plane did soar through the skies above … but t was a big commercial plane heading off into the yonder.  The main airport is not far from the location where I was standing…  Unless you live or are near an airport, or a flight path… you seldom see or hear a plane these days.  Just because we don’t hear or see them, doesn’t mean they are not there.

Later, in the afternoon I found myself out in the other end of the city, travelling down a road where this factory or industrial building caught my eye.  During the week this place would be busy with big cement trucks and other industrial machinery working away … I would not have been drawn to the place.  Probably driven by without giving it a glance.  But yesterday it was the shapes and colours that drew my attention.  It was a must that we drive down so that I could get out and walk to where I could get a better look.

There is something wonderfully appealing in the creative world around us.  It is so diverse.  How can we not marvel at the minds that pulled together to create so many of “hard core” ART around us in our everyday lives.  I drive a truck, I enjoy getting in and being able to drive to where I want to go.  It is important to remember  and appreciate all the things we so easily take for granted in life.

The pilot might fly the plane, but he had to train, someone had to build the plane, it didn’t build itself, the hours of testing, the research and developement for the bet materials, the combinations, the safety standards, so much goes into our being able to live the lives we do.  Let’s remember to give thanks, and to appreciate not only the people around us, but the many things in life that make our lives easier.

giving thanks, gratitude

appreciation

Mr.Spud

Mr. spud 2010 PNG

Facebook has a habit of popping the past at you.  This morning, I found this on my FB page.  I wondered what on earth !! then I read the notation at the bottom, they had provided that too.

Do you recall what you did 6 years ago?  And the next question, Do you really want to know?

Curious, that’s all.

Personally I care more about what I’m doing now and how I live now, PL Precept # 16  All things progress and Develop.  Every moment counts, I love the experience of living.  The past.. yes it was good at the time, but the reality is, I don’t even know where Mr. Spud is today, what happened to him. OH and the spuds, were they significant?  who knows, that was then, this is now.

Enjoy the day everyone!

It is full of such potential and possibilities

country roads

MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

There are times, when we are simply on a road, going nowhere in particular, just going.  Sometimes roads are long and winding, other times, they simply are a cleared piece of land that cuts through a woodland, hillside, or acres of farmed land.  Before it was the norm to have air conditioning in a car, we would drive with the windows open, experiencing the highs and lows of the ambience around us.  Our senses were alert to all the world around us, including the dust that swirled around the car on hot lazy days, pebbles hitting the side of the car, the manure in the fields.  We were bombarded with a myriad of sights, sounds and smells.  We looked around more, we took in everything around us.

We took the tracks that led to places that were simply “lost in time”…   When we stopped the world came alive with different sounds, and the blissful renderings of a countryside alive with the sounds of nature gave us a rhapsody of “quiet”

Friendship & salads

IMG_2390

Hey everyone, look, a salad. it just isn’t any salad, my sister made this salad.  So what is the big deal, well let me tell you.  When my sister was here visiting (from away) she had a bite with us, where my husband had made one of his super delicious  salads.  She liked it so much, that she savoured that experience till she got back to CA, and then made one up for herself.

Hers is different, it is her own taste buds that went to work to create the vision you see above.  No two people will create the same masterpiece.  Like friendships, we are all unique in what we bring to the relationship.  I love my sister, she is my sister, however, when we were out one day on an excursion, we met a lovely lady in a Tim Horton’s.. neither of us knew her, but we sat with her and enjoyed the visit.

At one point in the conversation, my sister said, “we (she and I) were getting know each other”….  ding, it registered with me.. WOW it was true.  just because we are sisters, doesn’t mean that we really know each other, we lives miles apart, and see each other only so many times a year.  Our daily lives and our “habits” or the way we go about our lives, is really unknown to the other.

Her making this salad and sharing the picture with me, brought home, how special she is, and how much I do love her, as not just my sister but a friend.  One that I hope to get to know better over the years to come.
