Happy 4th of July!

Good Morning Everyone! and to all our American Friends, Happy Independence Day!

We have a Japanese term we use in the PL Church, Musubi: Oneness, togetherness with others. one of my goals, my ambitions, something I strive for every day. Not just sometimes, I really believe and pray that I can attain this with every breath I take. I can’t live in tomorrow or next week, even next month. I live today, now, in this very moment. and I do my best to live each moment with Makoto,(utmost sincerity) I pray Shikiri: PL’s unique way of prayer, asking God’s blessing with a sincere promise to accomplish what I need/have to do Once a moment is lived it cannot be taken back and relived.

As a child I recall my Mother telling me that one should never say something hurtful or negative about someone else because once that word(s) was/were spoken they could not be taken back. I’ve never gotten that.

Good relationships begin by greetings and acts of respect and courtesy. Our action not only words, show how much we value others. Often actions speak louder than words. We have much to be thankful in our lives, lets share a smile today, say hello to someone you haven’t seen or heard from in awhile. Pass the feel good feeling around. It is free and it is yours to give.

Bom dia, good morning everyone!

Where ever you footsteps take you today, may the day be one of many blessings. Each day, a new door opens, and often another will close. Other’s feel it the moment they walk into their favourite place of worship.

Do you glance or do you read?

Good morning everyone.. earlier this week I received my PL Newsletter from Rev. Goto on New York. In it, he has shared with us an article by Rev Toshio Suzuki* His article began with a sentence that I read and re-read several times thinking that there was a typo. It took a couple of readings and then going on and reading the next two sentences before what he was saying sunk in. I am guilty myself at times of thinking I’m reading, but in fact my eyes are scanning and the brain is taking in what it is reading, but NOT necessarily assimilating the information the way it is intended.

His opening paragraph is as follows. Conviction and Faith, by Rev. Toshio Suzuki … If you want to see the truth of your faith, you should try to practice it very doubtfully,like “is it really true or not?” Then you will come to the conclusion. While researching for a previous blog I found several interpretations or versions if you will of a photograph of the Mad Hatter as played by Johnny Depp. This is the one that struck me the most, and I went back to find it to use it today. Since the picture had no explanation, as to how or why it was coloured the way it was, I can’t pass that information on to you. I could only view it and enjoy it from my perspective. Most pictures I saw were in shades of black and white. Like Rev. T.Suzuki’s words, this picture had arrested me in my search by making a statement that connected with something inside me. I wanted more. I really looked at it closely, the shading, the lace, the fingerless,frayed gloves, bandaged thumb, the assorted pieces of accessories, everything. All of the costume was very artfully pulled together to draw and capture the viewer’s attention. When we are visual, which I am, the picture shouted at me, and I responded. Words,are not as visual, they are a group of letters that come together to form a word. We must read the words not necessarily by themselves, but with the words that come before and after them to really understand the intent of the writer.

Today is a new day! ¿como esta?

Seamlessly the days become night, and night becomes day, the skies are ever changing and kaleidoscopic. The constantly changing patterns and colours provide inspiration and backdrops for our activities and encounters during the day. On first waking, do you look out a window to take in the view, gauge the weather? Dose what you see contribute to the “tone” of your day? Or do you close your eyes and pray. connecting to the holy Spirit Mioyaookami /God.

Does thunder and lightening have you running for cover? Or do you delight at the rumble and imagine the giants in the sky are bowling and having fun. That the lightening is the result of the bowling ball striking the kingpin and WOW its a strike, all the pins have dropped! YAY! Imagination, only for children, NO, it is a gift we all have and share, some use it more than others, that is a given…. I feel safe in saying that our imaginations will not suffer karoshi (Japan- word for death caused by overwork) Start your day today with a big bang, celebrate a new day, new beginnings, move forward on a path towards newness, progress and growth. Develop your skill in moving from the old to the new without a sense of loss. Move with the current, not with fear, but with a sense of joy and expectation toward the experience just around the corner/bend.

zondag, good morning everyone!

Feelings, emotions, they are so much a part of our every day lives. Is there really a moment in the day when we are not experiencing a feeling of some kind. Is there a moment in your day when you are void of a feeling? I first saw this quote weeks ago. Aside from thinking …wow.. Johnny Depp said this, and thinking, “did he really? Not that I know Johnny personally, but when my mind captured the picture and the thought, it also automatically ran through the files in my memory banks to see if what I remembered of Johnny fit with the wisdom of the words…Funny how the mind processes information coming in. When I think of Mr. Depp. I think of a visit to California and some pirate themed ride at a park I was at with my sister. I smile because it brings back happy memories of being with her and our sudden desire to collect Disney pins.

The image of us wandering the grounds looking for pins to buy, our delight at each new find to add to our now growing collection. LOL this was not all that long ago, we were grown women delighting in the activity of “search and find” it was fun to look through the multitude of colourful pins and decide which characters appealed to us. What we wanted to collect, and share with friends and family. We had fun. We immersed ourselves in the activity and today, I’m not even sure I know where the pins our, but that memory brings back feelings that are happy and joyful.

“You can’t close your heart to things you don’t want to feel” is what the saying above says. PL Precept #12 Everything has a way according to its name. We have choices in life, we can try to live void of emotion, feelings & LOVE…. but that is near impossible. We are blessed with the gift of LIFE, life is living and living is about being alive, When an opportunity cones along with the potential of bringing you happy moments and new and positive experiences that delight and thrill your senses. you have a choice, you can say, no, I want to stay the way I am. OR…. you can embrace the new adventure and be rewarded by new and wonderful experiences that bring a heightened sense of personal awareness to your life. When you embrace your decisions and life with enthusiasm and makoto (sincerity) there is that word again…….. there should be no lasting let down when that moment passes. there can be sadness … perhaps the moment was fleeting… but the reality is.. you lived an incredible “moment in time” and now have this extraordinary memory that has added new beauty to your life.

We accept the temporary beauty and wonder of a flower. We don’t look at the flower and say you are going to die, I’ll mourn you forever. NO, we don’t do that, we accept and appreciate the beauty offered, capture the moment if we can, like this artist did, and move on. Nothing in life is forever, only change is constant. TAO.

Mindful

Being aware. involved, each day, almost every moment of our waking hours when we are mindful, we have pathways that open up and we are faced with what path we will follow.

Good Morning everyone =^_^= I have enjoyed researching how I would present this today, thank you for this opportunity and for the moment we are now sharing.

Calm, peaceful, less journeyed, pristine, the photographer captured the silence of the moment, even though it shows that a vehicle can travel this road, it doesn’t capture that, the picture draws us in, so that if we are very quiet,we will hear the birds and the rustle of leaves as the forest animals go about their business.It is very inviting.

This amazing shot was posted by visitjapan.com it is of Yuki-no-Otani snow canyon road in Japan. The walls of snow are approximately 5 stories high. Whew I see a car driving along there, hmmm do I want to be in it? Actually if you really look there are many other cars so it is a well traveled road, still as beautiful as it is I might like to travel the road in a different season.

LOL now this picture, taken in New Zealand, where it seems there are many such roads to entice the adventurous soul, is approx. 22 km of winding treacherous road with no guard rails (Skippers Canyon near Queenstown) Look at the country side, I would love to be there, however I don’t think in that particular vehicle pulling a load.

Being mindful, means choices, participating in the decisions/challenges the Universe provides us with. Nature gives us the landscapes/tools, God provides! What path will you take today?

How do you see the world

Do you wake up and view the world around you in a positive light? Are you a half full, or half empty (glass) person? Or do you tend to see the world through a cloud, or haze that never seems to go away?

There is beauty in all times of the day or night, and if you are in a mood to find it, there is also gloom and loneliness even doom. When we give ourselves to God (higher power/TAO) we are blessed with a divine inner strength that helps ground us and travel with us through the many challenges we face in life. Before we can even begin to find happiness with someone else, or in the world, we have to begin with liking ourSELVES. To take responsibility for who we are and what we do.

Acts of respect and courtesy are reflections of how much we value others. We have all heard the expression, “no man is an island” its been around for years, and it has stayed around, because over and over it is a lesson we need to be reminded of.

All meaning in life is arbitrary. It is not tied to god, family or self unless we define it as such. Nothing in life gives us meaning in and of itself. It is we who assign meaning to objects and relationships.

That said, Wake up World! It is Tuesday, have a happy happy day! Blessings.. Oyashikiri

Happy Saturday everyone!

Daily we are given directions or a nudge by the Universe, do we see them, do we act on them, or do we simply walk on by without really experiencing the moment. Let us let us learn to express ourselves freely. We are able to experience the joy of being creative because we have the framework of laws, morals and rules to follow.

PL Precept #3 God appears through One’s Self.

PL Principle #1 I will live paying careful attention, putting Makoto (sincerity) into all I say and do.

Interior silence – the inner stillness t which meditation/prayer leads, is where the “spirit” secretly anoints the soul and heals our deepest wounds. (John of the cross)

Repeat after me =^_^=

Even if you don’t have what you need, you will find a way. Be creative in your efforts. If you fixate on what you don’t have, You will never be blessed with wisdom and way to solve your problems. Think creatively to get past any obstacles in your way .Often the Universe steps in and forces a slow down, or a rest that we don’t take time for. the things that come into our lives, including people and circumstances, happen regardless of what we would prefer, or what is convenient for us. Nature has a sense of humor that is all her own. =^_^= we, (human beings) are born with the ability to experience pain so that we can avoid pushing our bodies beyond natural limits. Do we listen?
