Dreams do come true, not always the way we want t hem to

we have to hold on to our dreams, and believe that they will come true

I may not always travel alone,

nor may I stray far from home

in my dreams, I can be anywhere, and at home the skies are blue

in my dreams I can do anything, at home I have everything

the sun, the sky, the freedom to be,

is all here with YOU.

have you ever…

38444747-8822-4882-9e46-9e80604958a0Have you ever dreamed you were in a wonderland

A place surreal and yet familiar to you at the same time

Has part of you been full of bubbly emotions

like elation,  joy, happiness and  contentment

or on the other hand

does the land you travel feel tarnished with a sticky grime

no longer does the sun shine..  you are agitated and feel a constant niggling commotion

life is serving up over or underdone moments with no amusements

at least none that you understand

it happens, and it happens often

where life and dreams collide

when we look inside, we find ourselves actually inside looking out

and instead of tumbling down a rabbit hole

we are launched into space

travelling at the speed of light

with no known goal in sight

oh dear, I’ve dropped the book and lost my place

what a way  to end the night…

have you ever?

There really are times in my life when I am so full of love and happiness that life becomes upside down, worlds do collide, and still, I’m happy!

My wish for each and everyone of you, is that such joy fills your moments, and that no matter your state of health, or  where you are in life, you feel and know the contentment of a happy heart.       Namaste – Oyashikiri

An ass you say !?

IMG_0713

“Stop” I cry out, my husband shudders at the word, it usually  occurs when we are clipping down a highway and  I see something I want to take a picture of.  Even after 27 ? years, he still has to adjust to this need on my part to  S T O P.   A safe place has to be found on the road, to turn around and go back, while I mutter about the delay in getting there before the sunlight on the location changes, yadda yadda yadda….  You can’t see him/her in this picture but there is a donkey/ass there. Do you think it would stand still for me to catch it in the frame, of course not. Short of walking up the driveway and over the fence, which is called trespassing, you’ll just have to take my word for it there was an ass there.  The creature was all off white/grey with lovely big ears, he sauntered like he was on a mission of discovery… he just kept moving

. All this to say.. once the moment happens, that is it, its gone, you can try to get it back.. is just ain’t gonna  happen for you.

Have a good day everyone!  We are still on the road, day trips for now, see you when I see you…

morning gospel!

road less travelled

Turn right, turn left

and you are there

take time to enjoy

for now you have arrived

yes, you have arrived, nice

but wait, once there, you

need once more

 to take to the road

cuz home you must go

home is where we begin

and where we end

when will the journey end

no one really knows

we are here to explore

test our convictions

learn and grow

one day ends

another begins

no more

no less

over and over!

Arizona, Sedona on flickr Day after day, time after time, we get to do some tasks over and over, or hear the same complaints, thoughts, musings from friends, family, co-workers, its a daily grind, getting up going to work, sigh…  there are days when the mind just won’t stop babbling away.  Then we take a walk, go hiking, or drive by a something new, something we haven’t experienced before. Do we take the time to stop and explore or do we keep on going?  When I saw this picture, I stopped! what a WOW factor. Arizona is on my bucket list. My husband surprised me one year by allowing me to think we were going on a trip maybe 10 days) down into the States to see a friend who lives in Montana.  What he didn’t tell me was he had mapped out a way to get there showing me a number of States I’d never been to, and then coming back from the west coast so that we traveled back to Ontario,Canada through the Provinces. Now that was an amazing time for me, we didn’t get to Arizona yet, seeing this picture has increased my anticipation. =^_^=  (  9 States and 5 Provinces later we got back home) See the pond that looks like a footprint.  Reminds me of the poem Footprints. Footprints poem   Put your heart into all you say and do. When we do something over and over, it can get boring, revisit how you do it, put a smile into it.  smilePencil Thanks for sharing this moment with me..             Blessings be……    Namaste …….     Oyashikiri ……..

Good morning smile, happy day!

bird, Shoebill, aka Whalehead or shoe billed stork from Africa, livdes in swamps from Sudan to Zalmbia

Isn’t this just the cutest most adorable face.. looks like a big smile plastered on his/her face.  Its real, it’s called a Whale-head or Shoe-billed stork an dis found in tropical east Africa.  It can be found in large swamps from Sudan to Zambia.  It is interesting what can compel a person to want to go somewhere, this bird I’d really love to experience.  See it walk, hear how it communicates, what a wonderful morning discovery.

Swamp Art - The Ferryman's End in Eastern Ireland. Victoruia's Way, Roundwood, Co. Wicklow, Ireland

This Swamp Sculpture can be found in Eastern Ireland.  It is called the Ferryman’s End. (Victoria’s WayRoundwood.co. Wicklow, Ireland)   I’ve been to swampy areas in my travels, but I have never experienced for myself some of the world known swamp lands,   I was most intrigued by this sculpture, the artist had to conceive the idea, build it, and then place it. Amazing workmanship.   Since swamps to me are just boggy areas found in low lying land and usually freeze over come the cold weather. Swamps that house alligators, crocks and life forms all year round due to the totally different climate and geography hold a fascination for me.

This is Swamp Forest in Naikoon Provincial Park, Haiida Gwaii, BC. Canada, I found this picture while looking for inspiration to  make a one of a kind doll that was going to be a swamp fairy.

Swamp -Ssouth Carolina

Photo by John Hunter, 9/2005 – he canoed through the swamp in South Carolina, I’m afraid that this morning I have lost myself in the swamps.   This can happen, I was going to talk on a very different subject, blame it on the Shoe-billed stork, his smile just captured my imagination and off I went further into the swamps. =^_^= I make no apologies, the artists/photographers of these pictures did such a good job of catching the moment, preserving them for us to enjoy, that I willingly wandered from point X to point B.  My choice. … now what do you think, I found this  house, wonder if it is for rent.  I might sit a spell and delight in the moment.  Care to join me?

wee home

Life is what we make it… thanks for travelling with me this morning.. on our mini journey. Happy Saturday!  Oyashikiri

On the Road again…..

camper, diana przytakoski-Cook

Good Morning, Bon Jour!

How are you? Dull and overcast here, so what, now that the eyes are open and my thoughts have turned to you, I remember this camper I found the other day when I was researching for an earlier blog.  Can you just feel the positive vibes from this cheerful little nest on wheels.  With the nicer weather, spring in the air, the tulips will soon be in full bloom along the canal. Food vendors will be out in the main tourist areas, the smell of fries and burgers wafting through the air, tempting the runners and the walkers.  I see the ice cream shops are open again along the main street, sure sign that spring is here.

california coast

This is the California Coast, what a journey this is.  I had the pleasure of doing this highway with my sister back a few years.  There was just so much to take in that I know that even if I do it another several times, I still will marvel and make new discoveries each time I travel through the area.  For sure, when you are on the highway, driving along, this is not the view you have.  Each wind in the road is another vista, another “oh Wow”, you live it and move on.  Have you noticed that what we learn easily or master effortlessly tends to be enjoyed, assimilated and then we move on.  Its forgotten.  However, lessons in life that come back to haunt us, or replay for us that test our inner resolve, or determination to acquire or “have”, not always a “party/good time”.  We struggle, we cry, we agonize, we can even have bouts of despair.  Some well meaning friend says, “you’ll be fine, tomorrow is another day”, intellectually you may hear the words, but your just not “feeling it”

Back to the cheerful little camper at the top of the page.  Since writing this blog, I’ve met several people who have told me they want to own a little home on wheels and they want to pack up and travel.  Surprisingly not only couples, but a lot of single retired women.  Families raised, empty nesters who want to just pick up and go.  Do what they have wanted to do for years,  Another blogger who just joined us recently, has her little camper all picked out. smiles and waves, you know who you are, bravo!  We travel our journeys step by step,  it is due to the many hardships we’ve gone through that we have the inner strength to take the  actions we need to follow our dreams.

I thank each and everyone of you reading along with me, for being part of my world, I so appreciate you all,  I enjoy hearing from you, my “door” is always open.  You are the sunshine in my life  =^_^+. These flowers are for you… enjoy your day.. Sending big hugs, packed with multiple blessings  and love.                Oyashikiri

Buenos dias, bonjour, c’est jeudi matin!

Thursday and the start of the spring season.  LOL Mother Nature is still not decided in our neck of the woods.  We are going to have a mixed bag of weather.  No matter, I’m sure there will be a lot for us to enjoy and friends to greet, new places to explore.  What is on  your agenda today?

Frozen falls 4

I just heard a car drive by, it sounds wet out there, the snow must have turned to rain, just like it was predicted.  The drive to work today could be very sloppy, not to mention slippery in places.  Today’s lesson in Pl is about how we do things, how we use materials and events to express ourselves.  What value to we put on things and money. Hmmm, I confess to being someone who is not necessarily money driven, my creative side leans more towards activity and productivity. On a day like today, I would get up earlier so that I could miss the other commuters and if I was walking enjoy the walk through whatever weather was being offered up on that day, of drive through the silent streets towards my destination.  I would enjoy the pelting rain, or freezing ice for what it was, an expression of Mother Natures many forms of artistic displays.

The other day, a friend told me he’d gone snowshoeing in the woodlands behind his home.  It had been a day of clear blue skies, and fresh fallen snow.  His little adventure had sounded so peaceful.  This morning when I heard that car drive by, I was  taken back to the days I would walk several miles from my home into the office through the downtown of one city, (Hull,Quebec) in one Province over a bridge  past E.B.Eddy ( an  operating paper mill, with frozen water along one wall, which  tempted me to  do some ice climbing.(which I never followed through on).  My feet would make crunching sounds in the snow, since I was early and most others who would walk this way, had yet to make their way across into  Ottawa. Other days it was like walking over shards of ice some parts of the journey required ice cleats,  or the really wet days when you walked through  big wet puddles) =^_^=.

In this same location there is  the sound of rushing water  where the rapids churn and gurgle over the rocks.  It is a beautiful spot at any time of year.  When you got over the bridge, you were in Ontario, and in Ottawa (Canada’s capital). The trek led me across open fields where buildings that had been, were now long gone, and the buildings that were to come, were still ideas on some drafting table.   On the left there was a hidden gorge, where below the rapids provided a training ground for kayak enthusiast. If time permitted, I would stop to watch the activities.

There was/is a definite difference in the two cities, yet in their differences they merged into one giving this area a diversity that is both charming and inviting. Sophisticated, yet in many ways, so “down home”.  Those walks were peaceful for me, they  allowed me time to commune with nature and my thoughts .. by the time I walked through the now busier downtown core of the waking city, and got to the office, I was ready for my day. How do you prepare for your day?  Whatever you do, remember to practice using full Makoto (sincere effort).

ecc9d7464cfa4399c63d593fc9341e58Hey, wow, I enjoyed my walk down memory lane with you this morning, but of course, I enjoy all my time with you.  smiles at you  and offers up these pretty flowers to brighten your day.  Blessings..  today, tomorrow and always…      Oyashikiri

SONRIE ES MARTES

Wonderful Ana from Spain has translated my earlier blog…  Thank you Ana!

TRADUCIDO AL ESPAÑOL

5f12e28e32a7 Mount Cook, New Zealand

Bendiciones…Oyashikiri

Mindful

Being aware. involved, each day, almost every moment of our waking hours when we are mindful, we have pathways that open up and we are faced with what path we will follow.

Good Morning everyone =^_^= I have enjoyed researching how I would present this today, thank you for this opportunity and for the moment we are now sharing.

802ae102e1e78e7bba5162a4b3382da3Calm, peaceful, less journeyed, pristine, the photographer captured the silence of the moment, even though it shows that a vehicle can travel this road, it doesn’t capture that, the picture draws us in, so that if we are very quiet,we will hear the birds  and the rustle of leaves as the forest animals go about their business. It is very inviting.

bbcea7536952526366ec1d1d2c53f6d9This amazing shot was posted by visitjapan.com it is of Yuki-no-Otani snow canyon road in Japan.  The walls of snow are approximately 5 stories high.  Whew I see a car driving along there, hmmm do I want to be in it?  Actually if you really look there are many other cars so it is a well traveled road, still as beautiful as it is I might like to travel the road in a different season.

skippers_canyon

LOL now this picture, taken in New Zealand, where it seems there are many such roads to entice the adventurous soul, is approx. 22 km of winding treacherous road with no guard rails (Skippers Canyon near Queenstown) Look at the country side, I would love to be  there, however I don’t think in that particular vehicle pulling a load.

Being mindful, means choices, participating in the decisions/challenges the Universe provides us with.  Nature gives us the landscapes/tools, God provides! What path will you take today?

The leading line of the path leads the eye directly to the maple tree.
