When what is right is not where it belongs

Tell me that again will you.. did you say what I think I heard,

or did you explain and I wasn’t listening – sometimes I do hear the words, but what they say to me, and what they are trying to convey – well. there is a discrepancy .. not sure what it is. but I know there is a disconnect. right side up, or upside down, makes no matter if the chatter is simply noise spoken into the wind.

Be a person who can say “I like it!” Find what moves you the most and express your appreciation.

Day of Peace

a day in the woods

I posted these yesterday, but wanted to use them again today, why.. I stood for some time at the bridge looking at those two logs.. wondering how they got there, and if I wanted to move them.. errr.. it was a thought, I didn’t attempt to move them. They were wrapped in a light icing of ice… and I didn’t have on my Bogs (water boots) … eepps I can hear and see the fingers pointing, honest it was just a thought I did not attempt in any way shape or form to move the logs.. it will have to wait till spring now =^_^=

The fungus on the tree was another moment in time. I wanted to pull out my chair (it was in the trunk of my car) sit and just visit with the display. The fungi was growing out in a number of places on the one trunk. There was such a variety of shapes and colour patterns. Life is so colourful and textured!

The log end, I want to see its progress over the winter, how it will pretty up as the snow and ice build on it. Right now.. what little snow is there .. may or may not stay depending on the weather we get in the next while. However the ground does seem to be already settling into “frozen” mode.

Be free of your attachments. If you are obsessed with doing something in only a certain way, it narrows your choices. Keep your options open and be flexible.

It’s a new season.. The Xmas trees are in the tree lots, people have started to look for their special tree. Our model is no exception, she is dressed today in a toasty outfit from Black Angel retail store in SL or in Marketplace. This outfit is Carlia it is a new release http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Alyssum%20Island/224/79/22

There is something about the tranquility of Nature, that I find very appealing. I step out of my vehicle and immediately feel the presence of an energy that is endless, the depth of which is beyond my comprehension, yet it feels like “home”.

With my model I am able to express my joy at being outdoors, she is happy, she is playful and most of all she is with “friends” playing in the snow. Something as adults we don’t do enough of. The location of this photo shoot was Winter solstice I will give you the LM (taxi) to the location, please be aware that not all of the area is open to the public, there are residence there be mindful of their privacy. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Real/218/157/21

Be very careful bout doing things you really like. Do everything in moderation. When you overdo, you will lose your balance.

Getting along with others. (translated from Japanese in Japan to English.) When people are truly united, infinite power is exerted. The first step in closing is to understand each other and get along with each other To understand the other person, acknowledge his/her strengths and never blame him/her.

Nov. 25th.

Happy Thanksgiving to our American family .. this is a very special time for you, families will gather, friends will get together… It is a time of sharing and being with those we love, if not physically, spiritually, In China, it is the Chinese New Year that is the catalyst for the push to spend time with family and those we cherish… In my thinking” this is something that should happen every day .. but .. it is not always practical, so having this one time set aside for focusing on saying “thank you” to the world around us… is very special, to everyone.

What an odd ball assortment of personalities – I know from past experiences, at gatherings when people come together – often there are a unique number of interesting characters that have been in or at our “family” gatherings that we don’t know all that well – now is the time to “explore” “discover” take the opportunity to walk up to, and check out the diversity in your own “backyard”…

No two doors are alike, or are there to serve the same purpose.. Just like the people around us.

Do things joyfully instead of taking it easy… Enthusiastically engage with what’s in front of you. You’ll enjoy it more.

So we shall let the reader answer this question for himself: who is the happier man, he who has braved the storms of life and lived – or he who has stayed securely on shore and merely existed?

Hunter S Thompson

To be great – you must be mindful of nine things: To SEE beyond where you look. To LISTEN beyond what you hear. To be GENTLE in judgement. To be RESPECTFUL in manners. To be TRUE to your word. To take PRIDE in your work. To ASK when in doubt. To think of the CONSEQUENES when angry. To think of JUSTICE and fairness when accepting an advantage.

house on the hill

So lonely and sad, the old house now sits so silently on the hill – No more does it hear the sounds of children playing – or the clanking of pots and pans as dinner is being made It’s former charm has now long since gone.

Imagine how it had once been, the proud haven for how many generations of families? Can you see the farmer tending the land, animals grazing near and around the homestead…. I think I see that a swing once sat in the front yard, where come evening, the family could gather and watch as the evening skies filled with stars. A gallery of twinkling particles of light against a clear night time sky

My friend and photographer Shirley Keen took these photos while on one of her jaunts. I was going to use it for “Thursday Doors” but there was a poignant feeling about the house, that inspired me to give it its own place on a page. Old homesteads like this are found not only in NZ but here in Canada, and I’m sure in the USA. I noticed in the pictures there was no road leading in to the house, nor any sign of hydro (electricity) being fed to the house. It has to have been vacant for years. There is a road not far off, but no driveway to this building.

Update. the Hoult farm house has been in the same family for 6 generations. It seems there will soon be a new house built close to where this one now stands by one of the descendent of this family.

Could this have been a reservoir for catching rain water?

Seeing the pictures Shirley took of this old farmstead brought back memories of days when the entire area around where I grew up was farmland such as seen in these photos, and now … all one can see are city lights and urban sprawl.

Let’s interact proactively with an ever changing society. society is always rapidly hanging with the times. Keep your eyes and mind in tune with these change and learn to deal with them proactively.

Have a great day everyone!

Mindless Monday

Tangled up in emotions that swirl like a foaming sea on a wild winter’ day.

Strive to overcome obstacles by changing your mind- frame. Things don’t always go as planned. When that happens, try changing how you look at the situation or how you are doing things. The outcome is in your hands.

Nov.11.

Today in Canada it is Remembrance Day… at one time it was called Armistice day, Always we are faced with changes. how we handle them, is a reflection on our own personal philosophies. Being that it is also in PL the day we have a special service for honoring and offering appreciation for our ancestors, it is a very special day indeed.

Reminder in our area all commercial shops will be closed, opening only at 12:30 pm/ Federal and Provincial offices are closed, Due to circumstances, check local listings for what and how special services and Remembrance Day activities will be held, and where.

The past leads to now and now leads to the future. Life is an accumulation of moments. Cherish each one.

Wednesday- PL WAY

PL Peace Tower -Japan

Your life is your very own unique work of art. If you cut corners or miss important details, you will not be able to live up to your fullest potential. If you fail to see what is important or miss a vital step, the value of your artistic life will be declined. It is important to put your heart into even the smallest of matters reminding yourself that each small amount accumulates into the whole of your artistic life.

PL Members’ Guide

Life is Art

PL Precept # 1

To Live is to express One’s Self

PL Precept # 2

Did you know that the first founder of PL, Rev. Tokuharu Miki, was formerly a buddhis priest> In 1912, he met Rev Tkumitsu Kanada who instantly cured his chronic asthma through the “Sacred rite of Ofurikae” So profoundly affected was Rev. Tokubaru Miki he became his disciple. At that time in Japan, tuberculosis was one of the deadliest diseases, Rev Miki wanted to apply his learning and the principles of Rev. Kanada’s teachings in helping the young/old deal with this deadly disease that was taking so many lives.

There is much to learn from knowing our history, and appreciating the lessons learned by our ancestors. Tomorrow, the 11th. in all PL churches there will be a 10:a.m. service honoring our Ancestors’. Ancestors’ Day – the 11th of each month -a ceremony where we express our gratitude for the love and virtues of our ancestors and ask for their protection and guidance so we can continue to live the PL WAY.
