Good morning everyone, I wanted to repost a blog from a fellow blogger in Japan. I loved his blog this morning, it talks about Shinto in Japan, and how in building and in ancient tradition, there is a belief about the supernatural beings who live in the forests, woods, and on the lands. I grew up with similar teachings in the Taoist tradition. When I first met Mr. Grump, I was struck with the thought that had I had a pencil I would have drawn a smile on his face.. of course I could not, and would not do that, that would be like writing on someone’s walls, or walking up to someone and putting a happy face on their forehead. Mr. Grump had that look that said, I need a hug. Humans as we mature, are much better at hiding when we/they need a hug. and… of course these days, hugs are hard to come by.

Do everything willingly and joyfully.. your upbeat attitude will make things more cheerful and enjoyable.

Today in PL we celebrate (21st of each month) A day of Appreciation – It is an important service, we give thanks and express our appreciation for the many blessings in our lives. We members humbly express our appreciation to God for all the blessings of the past month and sincerely ask to be guided and protected in the coming months, We renew our determination to follow and practice the PL teachings.

Due to Covid restrictions, tonight’s ceremony will be performed by Rev. Eugene at 7 pm. but the church itself will not be open. Instead we ask you to pray with us from home. If you wish to visit the church personally during the day, you may do so, please call ahead first.

Sunday service will take place like it did last week, please check in with us, we will have limited capacity. Sunday service will be at 10 a.m.

A thankful heart leads to happiness. When we really pay attention, we are surrounded by many things we can be thankful for; society we live in, the kindness shown to us by others. You will be able to find true happiness when you can see and appreciate these things.

Was amazed that I noticed it.. I just knew that that limb had not been on the ground yesterday. I actually moved it off the roadway. Did a lot of overland hiking today while exploring, found an opening and went into the fenced area, found where they had put up fences and where the animals would go to cool down on hot days.

needed a walking stick to balance, the ground is actually almost two feet down in places, the vegetation is so thick and layered, you have to make sure that the land underneath is solid and there isn’t a big hole.

I loved the solitude of this morning’s walk, the birds except for a couple of hard working woodpeckers were quiet.

Just since yesterday, the growth on some of the trees was noticeable. What looked like they could eventually be pussy willows.. had doubled in size.

I will miss my walk tomorrow because the surgery will be so early, I was very happy that today was clear and I was able to get out for my walk. Interestingly, while I had the clear blue skies, back in the city, not twenty minutes away, they had rain.

Perceiving equals doing. Each time you notice something, it is a gift from God. don’t miss this opportunity to act.

I had an idea . I lay on the bench and took a picture of the sky over my head

it was so peaceful and quiet. Taking pictures while on my back wasn’t fun though.. so i sat up for this last one, the direction from whence I’d come.

You can see, the signs of fresh minty green as the plants take in the longer days of sunshine and the balmier weather.

For the sale of others, society, and world peace. Always live keeping in mind everything you do is for the sake of others, society and world peace.

Sunday confession

I ate an oeuf de guimauve – as a diabetic I know better, but as a woman with a tendency to sometimes bend the rules… every year when they first come out and appear on the shelves, beckoning from the displays as we go to the cash, I succumb. I didn’t eat it right away, no I put it aside, saying I will share when a friend comes over..

The halo slipped, and then it fell off completely. I ate the whole thing. all 28g of dark chocolate sugar, unsweetened dark chocolate cocoa butter, milk and……

For every action there is a reaction. I know better, of course I do. – who do you think went to bed with a headache.!

Will I have learned a lesson… sometimes I feel like the little mouse in the cage with the wonderful toys, one being a colourful wheel that goes around and around.

Service is at 10: a.m. see you all there!

For those of you who are not near and will not be attending, I have have you in my heart and will include you in my prayers! I love and appreciate each and every one of YOU.

Thursday’s magic

To say it was was a picture perfect day, would be an understatement. It was magical. The trees were bowed under with the snow .. I was glad I had made the effort to get to the feeders. It was rather fun to put my hood up and then reach up and shake snow off the heavily laden branches so that the tree could raise itself up again. I managed some of the branches, not all, a few were just too heavily burdened, and too high for me to get at where I could shake and be productive.

I did get to clear the feeders tho’ and replace seed in the ones that had been depleted … It was interesting that a few of the birds found I was being a tad too slow and almost shoved me along or landed on my arm and tried to reach down and take the seeds/nuts from my container. The area where I sit was in an area that was covered by heavily snow laden branches.. I cleared the space and sat anyway, I simply put up my hood so that the wet snow wouldn’t cause a chill on my head. I’m surprising even myself at how I am adapting to being otudoors. I told one reader, I am thinking I’d like to have a folding lawn chair in the car, so I can just sit and bask in the warmth of the sun… away from the feeders.. but where I can still hear them chatting away, squabbling or just being cheerful. Why not. Will have to hunt one up.
