Tuesday

Many of us have had a lot of time alone this past year an a half, not that we are or were lonely, simply life changed. Now there is another change, school is out no more on and off switch there, restaurants have started to reopen, mostly patios are ramped up, I see many restaurants have now got patios where there was only a nod to one before, a few have actually built decks the length of their restaurant (where they could do so) Others have roped off a section of the parking lot.

Everyone is trying to recapture what was lost. (When and even IF they can) Reality check, we can’t go back to relive what was. Even if our physical surroundings change .. Our friends, neighbours, co-workers, ALL have been affected in some way by the adjustments we ALL have had to make over the many months, weeks and days. We ourselves if we look objectively at what our lives have been like and our thoughts over the past months. Many of us … have discovered or rediscovered a part of us (our inner most thoughts) – Once you’ve gone through a door, what was behind that door, it is no longer a mystery.

Perceiving equals doing. Each time you notice something, it is a gift from God. Don’t miss this opportunity to act.

Road construction is happening all over. The other day I made a mental note to not take Hwy 31 again for awhile. So where did I find myself this morning, not 24 hours later, on Hwy 31 edging my way back into the city.

The past leads to now and now leads to the future. Life is an accumulation of moments. Cherish each one..

It was a small price to pay for the wonderful adventure I’d been on. =^_^= It was a sterling day of discoveries. I listened to the little voice that said, “turn left”…. I ended up in a small town that I always pass when driving somewhere else. Today, I ended up on the main street .. and delighted in my finds.. (yes I will share with you eventually)

Wednesday 9th

Ever felt like you are caught between a rock and a hard place. This has been my position these last 48 some hours. I’ve been doing this blog since 2012 and overall have been pleased with WP. In fact I’ve been happy, blogging along, with no major disruptions or problems. Then out of nowhere, I couldn’t load anything, it was so frustrating, it took awhile but finally the reason became clear, I am a premium member (means I pay monthly for the service) What I had not realized was that there was a maximum storage associated with the account. Ah…. what to do.

Yesterday I got my second Covid shot, and truthfully all I wanted to do was sleep. So that is what I did, this morning I got on with the WP csr.. and found out my options. To reduce my storage means I go back to 2012 and start deleting .. it is simple enough, once I understood what I needed to do, but it is a loooong process. Hours later I have barely scraped the top of the bucket. I will persevere.

You can freely express yourself within the rules. (sigh I’m finding this out) Consider rules as a canvas on which to express your specialty artistically.

I can be thankful that for so many years I have been basically problem free. Now I have to reconsider my plan of action going forward. This is good because it means I have to look at what I’ve been doing, and decide if this is still the way I want to proceed.

We are still experiencing very hot, weather, the forecast is for it to cool down to more seasonable temperatures over the next few days. For those able to attend, we will have service on the 11th. Ancestor’s day at 10 a.m.

PL Precept #4 Being annoyed limits your expression.

Everything will be just fine.. With a positive attitude anything is possible.

When I first saw this picture that Num (NumOttawa on Instagram) posted I wanted to write a love sonnet, a sentiment of caring and adoration, I was so inspired. I didn’t do it, I put the idea aside and .. yup, l lost the moment.

PL Precept # 18 Each moment is a turning point

How often have I had an idea in the middle of the night, wake enough to think I should write it (notebook and pen are right there by the bed) I don’t do it, thinking I’ll remember, I don’t.

Yesterday I went for my second covid shot.. I got the appointment in the morning, for 5:10 that afternoon. Booking online you then have to wait for confirmation that your request was accepted and that you are confirmed. There were public announcements bookings were not happening the city was out of vaccines, people couldn’t get through to the call in centres, or if they did they were told sorry, call back. It was a day of waiting and hoping that mine would happen. It did. Whew… so relieved.

But somehow during the day, I lost the TV remote. Don’t ask I have no idea, how, why or where, it is not to be found anywhere, I’ve looked and searched to no avail. At one time, there were two of us looking, my friend who drove me for my shot.. helped turn everything upside down too.. nothing. The two heads are better than one, didn’t work.. sigh.

So guess what, it is time to tell myself “things happen” and yes its darn inconvenient, but accept it I must and move on

Look up, look up

The standing tree minus any leaves or sign of life, was surrounded by lush vegetation. On the other side of all the green was the St. Lawrence. I tried to capture the dozen or more ducks swimming along the shoreline but they were too far off, and I didn’t have my camera, being the driver of yesterday’s jaunt, I had not expected to be taking pictures, one should never make that assumption, I’ll eventually learn.

I tried to find another way closer to the water but the only “easy” way was to climb up a grassy embankment and get to the road, and then walk down to the bridge. By the time I parked and got to the bridge, they were specs in the distance. However that said, they were chatting and singing as they sailed down towards wherever they were heading. There were a lot of birds in the trees too, we just didn’t or couldn’t see them.

My first “conversation” this morning was with Dan https://nofacilities.com/, a wonderful man who lives with a special dog called Maddie, they eat /share a piece of toast after a walk. In his post yesterday he shows a very contended dog chilling on the couch after a walk, and the shared time with her human,

My second “read” was https://rebeccasrevels.wordpress.com/2021/06/02/day153-footnotes-of-a-forced-hand/ how Rebecca’s had to deal with inconsiderate neighbours who allow their untrained dog to terrorize her dogs that are in her yard, securely fenced in and collared.

Yesterday was a beautiful day as you can see from the above photo, today it is a happy day for farmers, it is raining. Not sure how much rain we will get, but from what the radio announced yesterday, it will not be nearly enough. While in Pennsylvania it has rained, stormed and rained some more, we have had little rain to speak of, just lots of bright sunny days, one after another.

We live in such a complex world, so much is happening all around us, Some we can control, and much of it, is simply out there. There is nothing we can do but accept some of it, work around a lot of it, enjoy and appreciate what we can, and move along beyond what is not in our power to do anything about.

Improve yourself to have a kinder heart. Do what you can to be caring and considerate to make others happy.

Simple statements, yet very difficult to master, we are constantly learning and relearning… believe me, it is not from lack of trying.

Change we all need change in our lives, yet for some unknown reason, the tendency is to hang on. Let’s work to improve ourselves… meditate, find inner peace.. even if it is for a short time. ie. for me its the walks in the woods…

I had seen that there was a clearing up off the trail I usually walk, when I climbed the incline to the clearing I found anther of these wood “tents” and two other possibilities.

top row was a week ago, bottom yesterday

In a conversation with a treasured friend who lives in sunny California, she observed I took pictures of sticks, and empty branches, another precious friend, mentioned I like “dead wood” Hmmm I thought, how true the expression… beauty is in the eye of the beholder… =^_^=… I love capturing the moments I experience, they tell a story, and give a visual to the life that unfolds around me.

I love my magnolia, when it blooms the fragrance that fills the air is AMAZING. My neighbour who is beside me and shares the love of this tree, says she gets the best of it.. the pure beauty of its flowers, and the scent it gifts the neighbourhood. I get to sweep up the fallen petals as they descend to the ground after they do their showing off.

Yeppers, each and every one of these petals falls to the ground when it has done its “showing off”… and no they don’t all fall at once or in the same place, the wind/breezes ensure they land everywhere. I had a very mindful day yesterday, must have swept up the fallen at least 5 times in the span of afternoon and early evening. This morning I found more waiting, and by this afternoon when I return from church there will be more.. and NO she hasn’t finished shedding yet.

Is the tree still loved and appreciated. YES. I never tire of saying, that I feel very blessed that I live in a country that has 4 distinct seasons. Each season, has a reason for being.. just like me, myself and I.. every part of my personality, character is ME, and even when I am fragmented and disjointed, life not running smoothly I thank God that I am alive and here to experience all that is offered. If I didn’t experience the greatest moments of LOVE/Happiness I wouldn’t know the sadness or feeling of lonely/loss…. it is because I feel, because I love that I am alive ..

I will live with a mind of appreciation towards others and things.

Mud Lake 5.12

one big thrill today black crowned night heron

This next picture was an awesome moment, unfortunately I was unable to get a good picture, I was frozen in place on a stump, the Mother and Father of these babies were coming along behind me, since I was sitting their heads and beaks would have been right in my face, back of head, or my neck. I was not going to chance moving.

these precious babies were right at my feet, their Mother called them away towards her, since I was sitting where they would have entered the water, they make their way through the brush around me.

I offered up a wish they would swim past me when they entered the water, but they went left instead.

No matter what the day was like prior to my arriving at Mud Lake, as soon as I stepped into the area, I was in a different zone. I love being out in Nature, but then I’m sure you’ve arrived at that piece of information already.

every time I meet up with this female duck I’m loving her more, her beautiful markings are exquisite. Her partner is more colourful, true but I find her pattern to be a work of art.

It was a sunny day, temperatures were balmy, next time I need to get their earlier, when I arrived, the cars were already lined up all along the road. However, altho’ the wildlife is plentiful, I think I prefer an environment with less human taffic.
