Something to tuck away to look at .. later.. Mindfulness teaches that interruptive thoughts are actually very pliable and like elastic bands… we can snap them out of the way… put disruptive thoughts aside, “you can tend to them later” ( I have a drawer full of elastic bands.. all colours and sizes…just saying..) The day comes, I open up the drawer and toss them all away.. why… I forgot what they were for. =^_^= ….
After the big storm we had last spring, I went in search of this ancient tree, it was still standing, but had lost some of its upper limbs. These past few days it has been so busy for me, that when I look in the mirror.. I see a reflection (kind of) looking back at me that reminds me of this tree trunk. LOL.. every line, every crevice tells a story. (yes I have a vivid imagination!) …. Just saying… when morning comes and you wake up wondering how long it will be before you can reclaim your spot in bed…
It is a busy month. Let’s ALL take a moment in the day to reflect on what this month is all about. Not tinsel and sparkle.. but JOY and GRATITUDE, Peace on Earth, Goodwill…..
Express yourself clearly so others can understand you. when you can’t communicate clearly, it can lead to problems. Always express yourself carefully to avoid any misunderstandings.

The best timing is when you notice. When you notice something, it is God sending you a message. Act right away so you don’t miss good timing.
There is a hush … a quiet that reaches in and stills the restless mind.
No matter how hard you try to foresee the future, you really don’t know how things will turn out. Do your best and see how it plays out. Trust in your instinct, take action without thinking too hard.
Aggghhh I did something today that I’ve never done before.. I intentionally climbed over a barrier that was put there to prevent people from going on the boardwalk. I knew the risk.. I was told, the sign was there to protect the people responsible for the conservation area. Anyone who goes beyond the barriers is doing so at their own peril….. the weather has been cold but so far there is no snow and ice on the boardwalk, I had my walking stick… big waterproof boots … and I knew I would be extremely careful.
Can one capture “cold” I tried…the ice is forming on the water, it is still open in some areas… I have walked the trail in the winter before, I’m not sure why they have shut it down this winter. I will enquire. For sure.. I had the place to myself.. only met someone when I was on the trail that leads back to the parking area.
I wanted to be alone. I wanted to experience the quiet and the complete solitude of being in the open space of the bog that would be devoid of other humans. I wanted to hear my own thoughts, to listen to the distant sounds of the world happening around me, but not near me. My wish was granted.
Are you overdoing things? Not only do you harm yourself when you overdo things, but you may be imposing on others as well.
Yup… we’ve had snow.. it is not staying around, “don’t kid yourself” said the wee voice… you’ve already had your first bad freezing rain drive down the icy snow covered dirt road. So… now what… Big Smile, we can build a snowman, start thinking of a rink, and yes, maybe even give some thought on how to decorate and cheer up the room(s) for the December holidays.
If you are a dog owner/walker you get to see the snow by moonlight, when the dogs need their evening “let out”… I’ve noticed how the snow has a silver almost transparent shine as it gently and silently floats and dances down from the above. There is a light that goes on over the back door when the dogs bounce out into the night, it shines over the deck… it is really very pretty.. and sooooo quiet.
At 5:30 a.m. when I start my day, I get to enjoy the early morning quiet before the activity starts up .. today being Saturday the roads I need to take to get to the conservation area will be less busy. I’m excited, I can leave earlier and spent time with the crows while they have their breakfast. It is a pleasure I allow myself…. they are so grateful. They arrive in such numbers… but still I am starting to be able to tell some of them apart, the “leaders” the noisy ones, then there are the more reserved, even have a clown or two.. their personalities are such fun to observe… especially now that they are getting used to me again. Even have a silly seagull who thinks he is part of the “morning crowd” he sticks out like a sore thumb… give credit to the crows.. they let him/her join in.
Make today a memorable day. Let’s try to put our whole heart into whatever we say or do, as our unique signature.

In PL.. precept # 19 Begin once you perceive. When a thought/feeling comes to mind and we feel we should act… PL Precept # 18 Each moment is a turning Point.
Trust your instincts… trust yourself… PL # 11 Always be with God… when we put our heart into everything we do… we grow, problems become opportunities… remember every day is a new beginning.
Treasure each moment in time. Life is a continuation of now. live your life as fully as possible without regrets.

This was the tree limbs back in early 2021, below is what is left.
Below is how the feeding area looks now… I’ve since changed a couple of the feeders but you can see the difference and the setting. (a beautiful wild turkey, I miss them.. they have gone further into the woods for the winter… )
For your info…. Mer Bleue has closed the board walk, it has been blocked off… so has the boardwalk at P6 off Moodie.. At Mer Bleue we are now hosting Evening Grosbeaks, and joy of happiness… they are at P23 too. (Dewberry)…. today was a real winner, I got both the red bellied woodpeckers and the grosbeaks while I was there filling the feeders.. bonus the crackle dropped in.

Some days, the sun tries to shine through, but… no matter how hard it tries, we can see it, but the clouds simply cast their presence in a way that the day remains in shadows.
When you get stuck, take a step back. When you are able to see things objectively, your viewpoint will change and you will receive new wisdom.
There is a quiet that transcends all else when you can stand in the middle of the forest and simply take in the moment. The birds are eating .. they are busy off in the distance, the snow is still falling, you are alone on the trail, everything is fresh and covered in a blanket of white. I love these moments… it was true, roads were a mess, driving wasn’t the best… but.. all of you at one time or another has had such moments where you have simply been awed by nature and her all encompassing beauty.
Start today with a fresh outlook. Even though people and situations may look the same, they are constantly changing. Start each day with a fresh mind.
