Listening is an ‘ART’… on my walks I listen… for nothing in particular, it is an exercise… being quiet and listening to my surroundings. When I began this exercise many moons ago, I found that my thoughts would often vie for my attention. The chatter could get rather annoying, with time, I learned to accept and let go of the thoughts that pushed to the front for attention.
An interesting “realization” came one day when I noticed that when the chatter ceased to be a nuisance, I “saw” things more clearly. In my walks I saw the smallest details in the over crowded vegetation, like the lens on my camera.. details became visible, giving broader perspectives. My mind took visual pictures that translated themselves into sometimes verbal, other times nonverbal moments of awareness.
Listen to others until the end, If you put your thoughts first, you will not be able to listen to others until the end. Firstly, listen to others to the end and understand them well.

Take time, make time…. to stop during the day… just stop… close your eyes… and take in the moment. No reason, just because. It will be the pause that refreshes. Smile you are being wrapped with a warm hug of love and appreciation.
I have missed my horse buddies, they are always out in the pasture when I drive by, but have been missing over the summer. I have not seen the owner or I would enquire. They were always so friendly. I recall one year they left over summer and were back in the fall, I’ll be watching for them. Strange how even tho’ I’ve never met them up close and personal, I miss them.. They have been part of my journey now for almost 4 years plus. Every morning I would greet them from my car as I passed to and from my destination.
Be big hearted. In fact, what you are concerned about might be something you don’t need to be concerned about. Interact with people without worrying too much.

Interesting, I hadn’t read the calendar before I started my piece.. hmmm. Another week everyone! Start out with a smile… have a great productive day!
Time to harvest and gather in the supplies. The cooler weather is on its way, some mornings there is a nip in the air. The little ones are not wasting any time gathering when I put out the feed. The woodland floor becomes alive with little chipmunks and squirrels. The chipmunks are little darlings, they can stuff a peanut on either side of their mouth and still get a third one in before they scamper off to fill their larder.
Depending on where you are, there are areas where the colours are so vibrant they scream out , daring you not to notice, while other areas are still slow to change.
Today being the first of the month, in PL, we celebrate with a special ceremony. We pray for World Peace. Service will be at 10 a,m EST. If you are unable to make it to the church, please take a moment in quiet prayer/contemplation, to remember to practice being a peaceful human being in our/your own world which includes home, school, work and community,
Let’s pray for world peace. The path to world peace will open up with each person’s prayer for peace.

I have recently travelled many miles to find a good old fashioned steamed hot dog, the way I grew up loving them. I grew up in la Belle Province de Quebec. Please read all about the Quebec Hot dog in this piece I found on good old Google https://roadstories.ca/hotdog-steame-steamy/ There is nothing like the feel of the warm steamed bun, the hot dog covered in the toppings of your choice . I had to take the picture from the internet of the hot dog because when I finally found a steamed hotdog made the old fashioned way, I devoured it.. My sister said I didn’t breathe, I simply ate. She was being kind and didn’t mention the sounds I was making of “pure gastronomic pleasure”. (shown is an .. all dressed)
My Mother made them at home for us from time to time, but it is never like getting it at the roadside casse croute/diner or establishment that makes them … serving them with real French fries, cut on location, and made fresh… Not the ready made we get in a lot of places now. Sigh. I could go on, but I will spare you, suffice to say if you are in Quebec where they are still serving a real steamed hot dog. Indulge. The diner where I finally got one after searching for several weeks here in Ottawa and on the Quebec side of the river, is on 10th line in Orleans and is called La Belle Province,*

In Perfect Liberty we believe in prayer (positive thinking/meditation) whatever the definition is to you, it is when we take time to be present in our world, and focus with full intent on what it is we are thinking of at that moment in time.
On the 21st we hold special service with a ceremony that expresses our gratitude and appreciation. It is a time where we focus on the physical and mental sufferings of not only PL members but of society/friends family/and everyone who needs that extra layer of love/healing in their lives.
The 21st is set aside for a service of appreciation, however, prayer for others and healing and loving energy is something that is needed 24 hours a day ..every day.. When I am asked for prayer I gladly add time in my daily meditations to include those who need a helping hand. I know many of you share my “way” and believe in the power of prayer.
Please today, add a universal prayer for the sick and lonely, this is a season of change, many won’t ask for help, but they are struggling. When I was younger, I would see people on the bus as we travelled towards our destinations, make a small cross on their forehead (with thumb)when we passed a cemetery or church. I took that in, liked it, I like the respect that it showed and adopted it in “my thinking/beliefs” A small gesture but it meant a lot to me.
When we believe we express our appreciation for blessings we have received.. Let’s pass it on.
The parking lot was empty, I was alone there, but in reality I was not.. the woods were teeming with life, and behind me eating in the feeding area, were over a dozen wild turkeys, half a dozen blue jays, mourning doves, chickadees, nuthatch, chipmunks and squirrels, and my ever present raven was carrying on with his daily bulletin on life as he sees it. Cuz you don’t see something… doesn’t mean that. that is what IS!

A gift (picture) from a friend who was travelling. A picture can tell a story, and this one was especially vocal, can you just imagine the joy at finding this inviting swing to sit and enjoy a quiet moment in time while you are wandering and exploring. Many of you are writers … does this scene not conjure up a couple of story lines … It is romantic and mysterious at the same time. Share your thoughts if you find it twigs an idea. I know she was travelling somewhere in Europe, for sure I get an old time vibe. Can’t wait to get time with her to hear about her adventure.

Got up .. too bad, so sad, no more place… guess it must be time to get up, Bed Pals .. or maybe today they are Bed Hogs. Whippets doing what they do best. Velcro on the right is 16 years old, Keeper is 11 give or take a day ….Usually wonderful companions.. and stay on their own side … but… this morning for some reason, they wanted more space, They are both watching to see what my intentions will be.. I was gracious and let them lie… (had to get up anyway it was 5 a.m. and still pitch black outside.. sigh…)
The Path to Achievement is “to start with what you can do” Try to find out what you can do towards challenges in your own situation. This will pave the way for achievement.

Enjoy these last days of summer, last night I heard a Halloweens tune at a concert I was at. Already there are signs the leaves are starting to change in places. This morning temperatures are more seasonal, in the 50’s.. Oh Oh OH OH pumpkins and goblins will soon be the theme of the day. You all know me, maybe I’ll find another crow for my indoor decor… LOL.. I can see some cringing happening out there… no I guess the turkey vulture I got last year that sits on the top of my cabinet in the living room looking down on guests can hold center stage for now..
I must say I find it truly amazing how newcomers to my “welcome room” are very discreet as they take in the eyes boring down on them. I tell you honestly, none comment, although, I note they don’t look up often. Will I ever grow up and out of this silly quirk of mine, likely not…Like a good wine, I’ll improve with “age” ..
Everyone has their own way of seeing and thinking. There are different points of view and ways of thinking which makes it interesting and creates new ideas. Try to enjoy others’ expressions.

I was asked the other day,” how does one pray, what do you mean by pray”…. that is a very difficult question to answer in one sentence .. and it can’t be the same answer for everyone. Prayer is a very personal expression/action… we all are different in how we approach life and our way of dealing with life’s opportunities. I see prayer as a way of connecting with my inner SELF. and for ME… I believe that I am ONE with the Universe… so being in the moment, and taking time to sit quietly and BE in the moment with Makoto (sincerity) in my intent… some call it meditation… Prayer and Meditation are words.. it is the act of Being ONE with your inner Self.
